It was by wanderlust that found Ren outside the Azure Valley Academy grounds after dark. He'd been discontented to sit in his dorm room, twiddling the hours away, while reports came in of wide spread flu break outs and hallucinations. Some were unaccounted for a week the, according to some of the internet sites he went to. It made for a dreary day indeed.
The park was empty of kids at this hour, but the sky was full of stars. He laid back on the picnic table, staring at the sky. He often wondered what the sky held among the pin pricks of light. He held up a hand trying to touch the sky and chuckled at himself.
"Ah to see the stars for what they are, and find a world beyond them..." he muttered, tucking the hand back behind his head. "Wonder if this night will get more interesting..."

Azure Valley was the wrong school. As Karone taught over at Crystal Academy, she hardly had any reason to cross to the other fancy campus in the city…though, perhaps that could be said of several of the city’s schools. Regardless, tonight Cavansite had decided to see if there were any worthy looking people at the all boy’s school, honestly, she didn’t think she would actually recruit any of them but…hey. It helped to keep one’s eyes open. You caught more fish if you kept your eyes on the water.
There was at least one other person out tonight, and Cavansite was drawn towards him out of the sheer fact that he was the only one who seemed…awake, and as she heard what he was muttering to herself, she gave a small grin, thinking that she might just break her ideals for the night and see if this boy felt like joining the Negaverse under her…he wanted to see the stars, did he not?
She could give him the chance to make that happen…in a sense. Quietly, she teleported to the head of the table and looked down at him, eyebrows raised. “You want interesting? I can provide that, if you’re willing.”

He closed his eyes, musing on the quietness of the night. He opened them to find someone looking down at him and speaking. Ren jolted, flipping over and onto his feet with speed honed by too many years of dodging his father. He'd been too lax with his awareness, and never heard her approach. His heart pounded, not in fear but with excitement. This certainly wasn't his standard evening.
"Making it more interesting huh? What do you mean?" He asked, rocking back onto his heels and appraising the woman before him. She wasn't much, but she also didn't look like someone who'd either kidnap him or stab him. Too put together to be a druggy. He didn't lower his guard though. Better to be safe than sorry, especially if she could move silently.

The speed that the boy moved made Cavansite pause, and then her eyes began to sparkle.
So, perhaps he would be an actual worthwhile addition to her little brood after all. It couldn’t hurt to ask though…but that little move set he just showed her had already decided his fate.
“I mean, child. Would you like to get the chance to capture the very stars. To bend them to your will. Would you like the chance to gain power and see things that nobody else gets the chance to. Would you like the chance to be more than you could ever dream of being? Because, I think you just might have the right skills involved.”
The general gave a saccharine smile and beckoned the boy towards her. “Come. Let me grant you power. What’s your name?”
It was a rash move but…she was confident in her choices.
After all…she was a General for a reason.

Ren tilted his head to the side, lips pursing. Grant him power huh? Capture the very stars and bend them to his will? He adopted the same easy grin she had and shifted forward to the end of the table and slipped off of it.
"Power huh? Consider me interested," he said, eyes sparking. It was too easy to mold himself to fit her mood, to fit what she was looking for. It was as easy as breathing, and Ren could become anything. The one thing he would not become was her pawn, but he could... deal with that later.
"Kanan, and you are?" Ren held a hand out to shake hers.

Cavansite grinned and shook the offered hand. “General Cavansite. And you…”
She tugged the boy closer and her hand slipped into his chest, fingers wrapping lightly around the softly glowing gem that resided there. “Since you were kind enough to consent already…”
It took concentration, corrupting someone, and she grew quiet as she began to fill the starseed with chaos, her eyes bright as she watched the transformation take hold of him.
When it was complete she gave a curt nod. “Well. When you are like this, you won’t go by Kanan, you will go by Lieutenant Mourite. You are one of mine now, Mourite, and I take care of my lieutenants.”
Cavansite sounded tired, and she felt utterly drained, but proud. As she looked him over, she nodded. “Welcome to the Negaverse. You now have the beginnings of ultimate power, my boy.”
She waited before saying more. Waited for him to acclimate. Waited for his answer to this…gift.
He would be pleased.
There wasn’t much of a choice in the matter, after all.

Ren stepped forward at the tug and let out a soft gasp as her hand pressed against his chest then into it. He froze, feeling her close her fingers around something within him, something he didn't know of, but knew was very, very important. He shivered, chilled to his core. Somewhere in the back of his head, he realized what she was hold was his soul.
He didn't have time to ask what was going on as something seeped into his soul. It began to fill him, testing the waters. It pressed against his soul until there was no room, then spilled outwards. With a grunt and gasp of pain - dear Force it hurt was it supposed to hurt? - the... energy? He supposed it was energy, spilled out of his soul and into the rest of his body. There was a surge of power - real, tangible power sweet Force - and then her hand was gone.
He gasped at the lack of a hand in his chest, and panted softly. He felt powerful. He felt alive. It truly felt as though the Force flowed through his veins. Sweet, sweet Force, this was intoxicating. Marroon eyes blinked open and he nodded at Cavansite.
Mourite. It had a nice ring.
Then he noticed he could feel things. Little touches at the edges of his consciousness, that all had a distinct 'in this direction' feel to them. The strongest was the one directly in front of him. General Cavansite. The aura coming off her was almost overwhelming, but familiar. He glanced down at his uniform and smirked.
Initiates's tunic and pants. How apt.
"Thank you, General Cavansite. Thank you for providing me this gift," he said with a deep bow.
Sweet Force he could get used to this...

Cavansite was impressed with his acceptance of his corruption and smiled, almost smugly. This wasn’t how she normally did it but…she had to admit, he was going to be a good lieutenant.
“You will be good at this, I think Lieutenant Mourite. You have a level of respect and deference that I’m not quite used to. Normally those that I give this gift to begin with asking me dozens of questions, yet you bow and thank me. It reinforces the fact that you were indeed worthy of this.”
She was tired, and moved to the picnic bench, sitting on it and looking up at the newest member of the Negaverse. “Tell me. Are you hungry? I could take you to dinner and give you a good run down of what I expect, because I do expect a lot.” Not too much, but enough that she would look good, and enough that he would rise in the ranks quickly.
“Become yourself again. Think of who you are out of uniform and—“ Relaxing, Cavansite let her powered glamour fade and Karone sat there, eyes still watching him with interest. “And then you will become who you are out of uniform.”

The praise gave him more life than he expected. A geniune little smile crossed his face and he bowed again in respect. And to hide the blush creeping across his face. He stood up, having regained his composure. He was hungry, and honestly could do with a good meal that wasn't either under the eye of his father or with the rest of the boys from school.
Mourite closed his eyes and thought of himself. A hard thing, given he shifted who he was at will. He locked onto the Ren who'd been out under the stars tonight though, and felt the rush of Chaos leave his veins. He let out a soft sound of disappointment at the loss of his power, and regarded the civilian side of Cavansite.
"Does it always feel like you lose a part of your self when you power down?" he asked her, sliding his hands into his pockets. "Also I'm starving and could use something other than school cafeteria food."
