Naevius was stunned as her brain began processing all that had just occurred as her ‘employees’ proceeded to track the beast. Since janarims tended to have small packs, they knew it must be heading to where ever they had claimed as their territory. Especially since it seemed this particular one seemed to have chosen that rock as it’s territory, it made them wonder where he could have run off to. Finally a few returned stating they had found a small cave and had tracked the beast to it. They were unsure if it had an exit or not but decided it was their best chance considering their plan in the open had failed, mostly due to Naevius. She along with the rest of them loaded up in the carts or on their mounts and followed the ones who had found the cave.
It was a distance away which made Naevius surprised they had found it so quickly, though there was very little wind so the sand likely preserved the tracks much better than normal. The opening was small, they could only fit 3 man across with their shoulders touching. It made them weary but did what they had to do. Again, Naevius joined in despite their urges and collective quieted sighs. The same two as before found themselves on either side of her, as if they had been the two elected to be her careakers in Sebastien and Varinia’s places. They placed her in the middle of the pack much to her dismay as it meant her visibility was low and she couldn’t see what they were going into.
They walked down the narrow cave corridor for a few minutes before it opened up into a small cavern and at the far end they saw their mission….along with another janarim….and pups. It complicated things, having babies in the picture but the babies were actually easier to tame so perhaps if they adjusted their focus their customer would still be pleased. They formed a half circle around the pair and the pups, the father, who hadn’t been the same one as before didn’t appear willing and bolted, ignoring the whips on his scales and nor did he appear willing to even fight. He barreled through the tamers and made his way out. The female, seemed less willing to leave her pups, especially since she had lead the danger to them. She snarled, Naevius worked with the others using their whips to keep her at bay while a few readied some weighted nets to immobilize her so they could transport her out of the cave and into the cage they brought. One of the tamers on the edge stepped forward a bit too much and caught the female’s attention. She lunged at him. ”Now!” Naevius shouted and the nets were thrown. One missed its target but the other two were able to accomplish the job. The sounds she made caused Naevius to get goosebumps, but never the less, they were successfull. It would be difficult to get her to the surface safely but it would be manageable. And now they had some pups to train as well as a little bonus. ”Good work everyone!” Naevius said as their nervous looks were traded for smiles and they relaxed considerably. We did it, Naevius thought to herself. She didn’t have too much confidence in the way of being a tamer but it was growing, and thats what she needed.
