Yellow eyes slowly scanned the books in front of him as he made sure to check out every cover. As much as he wanted to go ahead and open them, he wasn't sure how it would look if a cat suddenly flipped to the inside summary page and looked like they were reading. Oh the trouble of being a mauvian on a planet that didn't appreciate them! He sighed, so very much wishing that the library wasn't so crowded this day and that the books would magically flip open so he could read them. It was the start of fall and only now was the temperatures starting to get a little cooler. Bernard of course barely felt this, as his... extra layers kept him quite warm though most types of weather. And so he had been out and about today to see if he could find a good novel to distract himself in before one of his favorite soap operas finally started the new season. But, being a kitty was often detrimental in his search for good books, like he was finding today and he was a tad bit annoyed that there were so many people in the library today. He sighed once again, before scanning the books to see if a title caught his eye.

It was very rare for the pudgy, yellow cat to meander his way too far from his various 'owners'. From his actual senshi to her extended family, Hadaya was always in the company of some powered bodyguard or another. Mostly because he was very prone to getting into trouble, and could not be trusted on his own.
His legs might have been short, but his taste for awkward situations and falling into holes was long and far reaching.
Today, he was in the library, though Tony was working rather than powered up and patrolling. Sometimes, he worked too much, Hadaya thought, and he had no idea how the knight found the time for the adequate number of naps a day. It was a truly an inspiration, as far as he was concerned, to be able to do both. Because he could not possibly not be taking naps... right?
He spotted the other guardian cat quickly, wiggling his tailless rump climbing down from the chair he had been resting on. He had to turn around and go backwards off the edge of the chair, reaching down with his back foot to try and find the ground and ease himself down rather than risk hurting his paws with jumping. There was a bit of heft to his body, after all, and throwing it around was not... as easy for him as it was for other cats. Plus the short legs had less shock absorption. That was the story he was sticking with, anyway.
"Hello!" he whispered, not wanting to talk too loudly in case too many people noticed the talking cats.

Just as he was done looking through the book titles again he heard a small "hello" coming from his side and he turned his head to look to see... another guardian cat! And one who seemed to be much younger than him. Bernard smiled a bit, his fur-stache curling as he did so. "Hello and good day to you. I'm Bernard." He replied, also making sure to whisper. This WAS a library after all. It would have been terribly rude of him not to introduce himself at least. He looked at the other one, who seemed to be somewhat on the same weight-scale as he was and wondered a bit at what the other was wearing. He himself only had his bow-tie but this other Mauvian had what seemed to be some sort of leather or something harness around him. Interesting Bernard thought for a second, lifting a fur-covered eyebrow. "I haven't seen you around this place before. I was just looking for a good mystery myself though it's quite hard looking for one when there are so many people about."

Hadaya loved meeting other Guardians, especially because he was not the best at doing his duties and learning from others was the best way for him to get better. Camelot told him all the time to find others who had been at the job longer, who had experiences they could share with him, and who had knowledge to pass on. That was how Camelot helped a lot of his knights, after all, but Hadaya was...
Shy. Awkward. Not the most socially graceful.
But today he would over come those limitations and make a good impression! He would ask this older, clearly wiser cat for his advice, and do so in a charming, engaging manner that made him a guardian cat worth taking the time to teach.
That in mind, he skittered closer, bumping into the chair and throwing himself off course for a moment before spinning in a complete circle to right his path and skidding to a stop right in front of Bernard.
"Hello!" he said, on a breath, looking excited, "I'm Hadaya. I'm here all the time! One of the people I work with also works here, and since it's so quiet... oh, mysteries? We have some of those in the reading nook!" He bobbed his head, motioning for Bernard to follow him back toward the front desk. Nearby to that, there was a sitting area that was currently empty. Tony had taken the time to move some books to shelves near and on the floor, as well as higher shelves, because he knew Hadaya and other cats liked to read. It just looked like a decoration choice, but for the cats it was a way to access books without having to climb.
Plus they could hide under the chairs or in the cat tent that was also set up there.

Bernard was still smiling at the other guardian as the lighter one responded, before surprise took over his face at the... interesting way that "Hadaya" had managed to get over to him. A quick look of concern crossed over his features, but it seemed that Hadaya had recovered already and was all ready going to show him to the books Bernard may be the most interested in. "All right... Hadaya." He wanted to say something about what had happened but decided better against it. After all, it wasn't too unexpected, the floors weren't carpeted, much to the chagrin of all kitties, and he too had a problem with bumping into things he didn't intend to. Honestly they were just in the way! It wasn't that he was too big! "Well, it's nice to meet you Hadaya. I'm Bernard though most call me... other names. But the nickname I am most fond of is Bernie if you wish to use that." As he got up, ugh it was hard after sitting in the same position for so long! and following Hadaya. Bernard gestured a bit grandly with his front paw. "You know this place better than I do, so I would be pleased if you would lead the way! And if you have any recommendations also. I may like mysteries the best, but if you think I might like something else then I would be happy to take a look!"

"Other names? Well, Chaonis calls me Tubbo, so I guess I understand other names. I just prefer Hadaya. Or Cutie! Though... it would be weird if you called me that. Navi usually does, though sometimes Camelot lets it slip and I love it." His White Moon family could not help but treat him more like a cat than a Guardian, as that was the way he preferred to live. He loved cuddling and spending time with his humans. Fights and awakenings and making cell phones were all important and stuff, but ultimately, the short limbed cat knew he was better suited to other... more domesticated things. "Okay, Bernie! I like that!" He padded over to the sitting area Tony had made for them, slinking under one of the, thankfully, tall arm chairs. It was pillowed and had a drape around its legs, but enough space under it to comfortably accommodate even the portly cats seeking shelter underneath. There were books under the chairs, most of which Hadaya had dragged there, but there were shelves with mystery novels, paper backs mostly, on the lowest shelves nearby. "See! This is the perfect spot for reading!"
