It specilises in food and seasonings, supplying most restuarants and families with the freshest supplies of the day, including the Sero Tree kitchens. The barge is wide, open, and very much flat, meaning no storage beyond what is on deck. To help keep the meat and fish fresh, the back portion of the deck is kept covered and filled with ice. The barge is manned by a dozen workers, many of whom also work with selling and buying the goods while the other maintain the ice and the barge itself remains on its timed schedule travelling around Kirigakure.

Okay, so maybe the Wanderer's Delight Tavern and Inn could have given Kagerou a hot meal, or any of the food stands in the Crafting Collective that catered to the hungry workers. However, the former was too cumbersome and hearty for the quick pick me up Kagerou wanted the meal to be and the latter didn't have any of the fresh fruit that she felt like eating at the moment. That was why she was here, on the Adrift Marketplace. Bonus points, she managed to catch it while it was on the way to the Father Gates, so even better.
Specializing in fresh produce, it was a given that the Adrift Marketplace wouldn't really have anything hot, besides perhaps the bread if it was fresh enough, which it wasn't. It was fresh bread, certainly. Just that the warmth from the oven had since cooled. Still, all Kagerou wanted was a nice pick-me up. It didn't have to be anything fancy, or even warm. From the market,
Kagerou purchased 1 apple (1 Ryo), 1 pear (1 Ryo), 1 small punnet of strawberries (2 Ryo), 1 scone (1 Ryo), 1 shortbread (1 Ryo), 1 baguette (3 Ryo), 1 kilo of cheese(18 Ryo), and two half liters of milk (2 Ryo). Sweet? Savory? What did Takeda like? Kagerou didn't know, but she was fine with either, so she just bought both. If he liked savory, she'd just toss him the baguetts, apple, some of the cheese, and one of the milks. If not, then he'd get whatever wasn't included in the above list. Kagerou joked to herself as she checked out her purchase of 29 ryo total that she managed to get discounted to 25 ryo by virtue of helping the shopkeeper some time in the past, Oh dear, now that she thought about it, it did seem possible. The joke took a suddenly worrying turn, as Kagerou waited for the barge to near the father gates.

To clarify, they they gain a -5 chakra reduction every rank, to a maximum of -20 at sannin. All medical jutsu are still learnable by both sides, but the chakra control only applies to the chosen side.
• Grand Performance - The user can perform both types of arts (ninjutsu and genjutsu) through their performance or instrument, often casting them at the same time (must pay for both techniques). Can perform D rank techniques through instrument at gennin, C at Chunnin, B at jounin, A at Konin, and S at Sannin.
• Learn Medical techniques one (1) post faster.
• Learn ninjutsu (1) post faster.
• Learn genjutsu one (1) post faster.
• Miracle Performance - Kagerou can perform healing eiseijutsu through her performance/instrument as if it was ninjutsu of the same rank. When performing healing medical techniques, she can target anyone who can hear her music with the jutsu. I.e. she no longer has to be within touch range of the target to use healing hands.
• Calamity Performance - Kagerou can perform offensive eiseijutsu through her performance/instrument as if it was ninjutsu of the same rank. Harmful eiseijutsu cast in this manner is guaranteed to hit as long as the condition of sound is met, but it takes one post to manifest its effects. In that time, the technique can be nullified by matching the energy (chakra/stamina/whatever else) cost Kagerou paid to use the entire jutsu, including any extra costs for additions/modifications. Those afflicted by harmful eiseijutsu cast in this manner become aware that if they do not spend the required amount of chakra/stamina, then bad things will happen to their body. The target(s) will have a vague sense of how bad the damage will be, but do not know what exactly will happen.
• Dream Audience - Kagerou's dream is to help as many as she could. From this desire, the dream world manifested the power to multiply the recipients of all of her eiseijutsu techniques. With neither extra effort nor decrease in power, Kagerou can affect two extra targets for each eiseijutsu activation as long as they fulfill the requirements to be a target (i.e. contact for most eiseijutsu by default or sound when Kagerou performs eiseijutsu). Past the starting two, she must spend a total of 5(n-3)+10 energy split evenly between chakra and stamina for each additional target; n = number of targets. Odd energy costs are split with 1 more point of stamina than chakra. This additional cost cannot be reduced or refunded.

After she gathered some more things to hopefully cheer the shopkeeper some, the Aburame listened for bugs in the store that she could possibly talk to. "Heeellooooo?" Nozomi chimed out with a bit of musical tone in her voice as she headed to the checkout area where the shopkeepers are usually found. Nozomi was also holding a glass jar of honey. Nozomi started to wonder who can possibly steal these magazines. Maybe a bunch of curious teenagers... With a soft sigh emitted between her lips behind the mask, she really hope that wasn't the case. After all, should parents be the one to give the birds and bees talk to the children? Maybe some parents couldn't pull it off. Her mother couldn't do it, but her father was... extremely detailed on that talk. The red haired Aburame started to think about the future, could she be able to talk to her own child about this or would she try to convince their father to do so?

"I...I'll be right there!" Nozomi's hail to insects wasn't responded to but at least she got what seemed to be a humans attention. From behind the curtain of the small shop that prioritized book and magazine sales came a man adorned in reserved attire looking downward withdrawing into himself momentarily "I didn't think it was this bad..." He'd mumble to himself before he'd raise his head and address Nozomi "Ah..you must be the shinobi requested. I hate that I had to make such a trivial request needless to say one so uncouth...but...well this discovery has resulted in some unsettling numbers."
Letting out a sigh, straightening his glasses. "I'll get right to it then. Recently I only just came into notice that some of the more lascivious materials sold here have turned up missing. Naturally I don't pay much attention to such things but they still have a market regardless. Naturally after discovering this I decided to start taking inventory...and to my surprise it hasn't only been this once. Each month it seems based on my counts exactly five articles involving lewd material mysteriously disappears. This has been going on for as long as a year and a half now without my notice until recently. You can see why this is troubling...Ah, how rude of me I haven't even gotten your name. You may call me Leonidas, or Leon if you prefer, and you are?" He would say offering his hand in a handshake to Nozomi. A reserved individual to be sure he had little hesitation explaining the problem and introducing himself in a friendly manner often required of customer service representatives.

Nozomi heard someone called out. Honestly, by the way he talked, he seemed surprised. Did she catch him off guard? Her brows furrowed slightly as she glanced around. Maybe these are quiet hours? Usually shopkeepers would gauge the hours very well so they can figure out how long they need to clean a specific area without fear of missing a customer. Her other concern was that she found nothing. Not even a spider. Or a mite. Odd. Does he meticulously clean the shop from ground up? He finally exit behind the curtain as she was slightly confused to what was going on. This bad? What was this bad...? She smiled behind the mask and gave him a nod in acknowledgement that she was indeed, the shinobi sent for this... mission. Based on his personality it does seem like he didn't want to go through the trouble but as he said, the numbers were too high to be simply ignored. Nozomi listened carefully to him. Each month... and this been going on for a year and half? How did he know this if she recently took inventory? She started to try to think of how to ask him without accidentally offending him. "Nice to meet you, Leon-san. I'm Nozomi. Here! I got you a fresh batch of honey!" She said in rather cheery tone as she set the honey on the counter for him before clearing her throat. "Was there any hints you have found? Maybe a customer that really stood out to you? Perhaps a shy and almost never talking individual or a loud and proud one? Something odd out of place besides the numbers? Also, can I see where the magazines are?" She questioned. SHe doesn't know how to be of any help. Honestly, she was nervous and scared, this was her first mission and she's alone. None of the bugs were in the store or if there was, they were outright ignoring her.

The man took the jar of honey almost in a precarious manner, as if unsure what to make of it before readjusting his glasses once more. With a smile, though one that seemed thankful but uncertain of how to truly be thankful. "I hm, thank-you Nozomi-shi. I'm frightfully allergic, but I'm certain I can find someone who'd enjoy it. " The man used the honorific Shi. One used usually for formal conversations with individuals of whom you've yet to fully know. More so it was typically used by bookish people.
"Honestly, I've discovered all these thefts occur at the booth we usually have set up at the collective. It makes sense seeing as with all the shops and people causing a commotion, theft would be much easier to pull off to a trained hand. I'd suggest starting your investigation there. The booth owner and I keep separate inventories he'd be the more likely one to discuss with about the inventory reports he sent me. We keep the shipments in the back of this store to be distributed to the booth. You're free to take a look if you feel it would aid in your investigation."
Nozomi's call hadn't gone completely unheard a moth flew in through the window. Which later rested on the wall. However, before it could ask who had called out to it glint came off Leonidas's glasses. With one swift fluid if not instantaneous motion a senbon came out of the mans sleeve ending it. And so the reality that was a non-aburame would reveal itself here. Naturally insects were one thing to most people and to those people they were vermin and a nuisance. The mystery of why there were no insects here would make itself clear. Leonidas was the one who made sure it stayed that way. "Moths the bane of all reading material. Well, then Nozomi-shi feel free to do what you will. I've fulfilled all that of which I can tell you." The man would then pick up a handkerchief and proceed towards the now dead moth for it's disposal and tidying of the shop.

Nozomi listened as he explained that he discovered all the thefts occurred at the booth that they had set up... ew. Wait, that kind of booth or...? So it had to be someone who was good at stealing and well, stealth. Great. That leaves the possibility of the shinobi of Kirigakure or just really good teenager. Nozomi nodded, guess she can go in there. Her head turn as she heard the moth and then had to do everything in her power not to let out a screech. Her hand went over her mouth as her eyes widen. She... understood the dislike and disdain of bugs that other people had, but... couldn't he just catch it and let it go back outside? Her stomach did an upside down. That.. that poor bug. She cancelled the calling of the bugs; there was no reason to spare more innocent lives. "T-Thank you.." She slid her hand down back to her side as she tried to look as normal can be. If that was a possibility. Once she gave him a gratitude bow, she turned and headed out to where the booth was. Her golden hues glanced around to find the other coworker he mentioned....

The strange feeling of being on a boat/barge never sat well with Takeda. It wasn't quite enough to make him sick, just uneasy and a small bit nauseous. The constant, uneven movement beneath his feet reminded him of his genjutsu training in a few ways, which only served to make it less welcoming. While the wide variety of scents on board also served to be both a boon and a bane, the culmination of sensations all served to push down a greater annoyance. The flash of green hair and red eyes that played back in his memories, again and again, a smile he thought of nothing more than friendly becoming a plague on his heart...hearts? I'm not sure what's happening, and I hate that I...don't hate it. What's going on...Kagerou. He winced slightly at the way his cheeks heated just at the sound of her name in his thoughts, his breathing audible in his own ears. Takeda placed a hand on his chest, over his primary heart while he gulped. Just focus on the water. It slowly but surely became easier to revert back to normality the more he concentrated on the movement of the barge. The boy had his wits about him to know that his feelings like had something to do with the recent blooming of the Sero and what came with it. It was probably something to do with pheromones, but it was excessive to the point that it was constantly interfering with his thoughts and feelings.
"Hey, are you looking to buy something? Not trying to be rude, but you seem a little...lost."
He froze for a moment, turning to see a middle-aged woman with long brown hair that was tied back, tan skin and eyes of a light lavender shade. The bit of muscle that showed with her sleeveless shirt led him to believe that she must have been a farmer or worker of some sort. "Sorry, the umm..the tree is getting to me...I think." He didn't really know how to word the situation, but she reacted with a hearty laugh nonetheless. "Yeah, I know what you mean! My husbands a woman right now and I feel like sleeping with someone I've only met a couple of times. Something like this happened last year around this time too. Once you get a bit older these things bother you a lot less." The Jiongu blinked in response, then nodded slowly as understanding dawned on him. I guess if you know these feelings already, it becomes a bit easier to get them under control, huh?" Now she was the one to nod and gestured for him to come closer. "This is gonna sound a lot like a sales pitch, but take my advice. If you want to get through this alright and distract yourself, get some ingredients and cook something for the person on your mind. It's a sweet gesture, and a great way to pass the time." While it probably was a heavy sales pitch, Takeda couldn't doubt that the statement held some legitimacy. Stepping forward, he saw that she herself was selling a variety of fresh seafood, meats, and spices. "I know Whiting is in season right now but I haven't personally made anything with it. Do you have any recommendations on how to prepare it?" It took a few minutes of discussing prices, recipes and what was pleasant for most people to eat before he was done.
