Shockstar sat with a hoof resting atop Encore's head, much to the annoyance of the brightly colored cat. A capture capsule flew up and down from his other hoof as he tossed it into the air then caught it again. He sighed wistfully, glancing out over the park at a flock of birds that had just landed and were pecking at the grass. "Wouldn't it be cool to capture all of them..." he whispered to himself, eyeing all the little feathery blobs as they bounced around.
Something just felt unfulfilling in his tummy though as he watched the familiar tan, brown and white little bits bobble and flutter to and fro. It all felt so....so same. "I haven't seen any new types in ages though." he groaned, sliding his cat closer to himself in a sort of awkward side hug. He ignored the bushy tail beating furiously against him and continued to watch the birds. "I wonder if they are just hiding somewhere else." he mused aloud to himself, now not really focused on the birds but on the blue sky above.
Somewhere else....
Something in his mind ticked and he bolted up right.
"Wait a minute!" he declared, getting to his hooves and finally releasing his furry companion who darted sideways relieved. "They wont come to me I have to go to them!" he blurted loudly, startling a few foals playing near by.
A wide grin spread across his face. "Of course! Why didn't I see it before?!"
he gasped, suddenly leaping upon his saddle bags and tearing through them for a comic, the capture capsule he was playing with now oddly wibbling around on the ground. Pulling free a wrinkled and well read comic, Shockstar began to flip through the pages until he came to the particular scene he was looking for. Eyes wide with wonder his grin seemed to spread farther than anyone thought possible.
"I have to travel!" he whispered almost breathlessly into the pages, his back end now bouncing with excitement. "Yes... that's it! I have to.... to.... travel!"
he whispered again, each time he spoke the phrase something sparked inside him. "Not just one park to another. Farther than that! Bigger even!
I need to travel to another city!" he spoke now, hurriedly packing up his belongings, picking up the capsule that had now stopped and turning towards his cat again. "The next state even!" he flashed a toothy grin, slinging his saddle bags over his sides before picking up the now growling cat and placing her on his back. "Encore! We have to travel the world!" he shouted loudly, standing tall, chest puffed out and proud.
A new look of determination crossed his features as he stared down the blue sky before him. "I will travel the world. And I will catch them all. Every single one I see! From flying types to water types to even dark types!!" he laughed, now nearly out of breath from his own excitement.
"I want to be......to be..... the very best monster trainer ever!!!!" he screeched and took off at a run,
bolting through the park and right straight for the flock of birds he had been watching earlier. As he neared they scattered into the air, a flurry of feathers and wing beats and he laughed louder.
"JUST WATCH ME! I WILL DO IT! "
