It was round two at the ravine. Kieran had taken the past two hours walking through the wilderness outside of Pajore. The path he took was long and strenuous as it not only twisted between trees and involved lots of climbing, but also was unknown to earthlings and therefore completely wild in nature. No one had paved this path, nor had there been many feet to trod down the wild grasses that grew up to his waist in certain areas. This had never stopped Kieran before since such walks were typical to the rough adventurer. How could one get any answers, after all, if they simply sat and waited for someone to create a path first?
Sometimes you just had to be willing to work for what you wanted.
And in this case it was going to take a lot of work. That much Kieran had decided as he once again circled around and found himself facing off against a pair of limbara, “I promise this isn’t a huge request. I just want to make things easier for you.” He quipped as he once again tried to pass the huge creatures. Obviously they weren’t taking well to his pleas and arguments as they continued to charge at him whenever he tried to walk through the narrow pass to the valley beyond.
Eventually Kieran took up his whip and began to fight back. However, it felt as if every ten attacks only gave him maybe a foot. Damn these guys and their tough hides. Don’t fight a limbara his mother had once warned. Not unless you truly wish to test your endurance. They are a gentle creature, but stubborn and strong when necessary. Her words echoed in his head as Kieran continued to dart around and look for weak spots in the limbara’s defenses.
Perhaps one he could take, but two? Kieran pursed his lips thoughtfully before coming up with a plan. As he ran up in between the cliffs the Yaeli suddenly pulled his whip back and aimed to the side rather than at one of the two limbara. As it struck the rocks Kieran grit his teeth and pulled hard. Eventually some dust came flying down and a shower of small rocks tumbled towards them. It was enough to distract one limbara as a low hanging tree lost its rooting and collapsed with the avalanche. The other limbara was blinded by the dust and it was enough for Kieran to take advantage of it by rushing it and climbing so that he could jump on its back and tie his whip around its snout in an attempt to keep it from attacking him with a strong bite.
The other limbara he would have to give up on, but this one….perhaps he would have a chance with it. At least that was Kieran’s hope as he fought desperately to stay on top of the rampaging creature that was both blinded by dust and upset at the sudden extra weight hanging onto its back.

“Can’t you have a bit of mercy?” Kieran commented as the creature beneath him continued to thrash. Even with all the soothing words and the attempts at treating the creature to its favorite snacks the beast refused to calm down. Talk about picking a stubborn limbara. Kieran grit his teeth as he tried one last time to touch the limbara’s snout. Once again though the teeth strained against the restraint of the ropes as the limbara tried to bite his hand off. So much for a gentle personality. Kieran sighed before finally raising his hands, “I get it, I get it. I’ll let you go if you promise not to run me down.” Easier said than done, right? The beast was obviously beyond pissed that Kieran had disturbed it and was even more pissed that Kieran had managed to get rope around it. But even if he had some advantage Kieran knew one thing - temperament was key in what he was wanting and this guy was far too angry at the world to serve the purpose that Kieran wished for it. So once again he had lost in his quest.
As he untied the ropes and slowly backed away the Yaeli pursed his lips in frustration. He would eventually find the right limbara...it would just take a few tries and a lot of patience. Something which Kieran was thankfully very gifted with.
