Who: Oliver, Laurel, Nina When: Late August Where: A mall food court Weather: Warm and breezy; Low humidity Though it wasn't Laurel's first time in a mall, it was no less of a stimulant for his senses. All kinds of people wandering this way and that, conversations bubbling in and out of ear shot, and so many smells and sights... It was hard for him to stay still in his seat. He wanted to get up and wander, maybe visit a shop or a stand, but with Oliver watching him from across the table, he knew he couldn't leave. He huffed and, in defeat, slumped.
"Can't I go to one store, dad? Just for a little bit?" He begged, pointing off to a novelty store across the way. "That one looks like fun! They've got so many flashing lights!""I told you, Laurel, not yet." Oliver replied, shaking his head and looking at his phone. "... Listen, once we get acquainted with this new guardian and have some lunch, we can go have a look around. For now, just be patient, okay?""Ugh, you guys are gonna have lunch?" Laurel whined, sticking his tongue out. "That's so not fair.""Well, the sooner you can figure out how to grow a stomach the better, right?" Oliver laughed.unohime I hope you don't mind that I skipped a phone call/email! Let me know if you'd like me to change anything!

By the pattern she was going, Nina felt as if she'd request the company of the entirety of lab by the time she was satisfied with her meet-and-greets. Of course, she wasn't beyond meeting all of the Raevans and their guardians if only to network and build connections, but doing so wouldn't stave off the yearning she felt for her own Raevan. So a handful of mundane chats with those willing to answer her questions would have to do; for the time being, at least.
Nina had a rather sour opinion about malls. It had its uses to the average shopper, but footing a shift on a Black Friday in her early twenties invoked a vow within her to never again torture herself with consumerism madness. It's the reason why websites like Amazon exist, people. Gosh. She huffily ignored the stores that dare beckon her in with their 30% off sales and surprise clearances and made her way to the food court; suddenly feeling inclined to shop for a new outfit when she noticed the stain on her yellow, long-sleeved tee.
"Ahh, damn it," Nina said, furrowing her brow and marching forth. "I'm here to talk, not to shop!"
She came upon Oliver and Laurel already seated at a table, and she hovered near them while jerking her head between whichever open chair she should take. The one near the Raevan? The one near his guardian? Would either be too acquaintance-y? They only had a brief correspondence by email, after all!
"Hi there! Oliver and Laurel, yes?" Nina said, giving a small wave with her only hand. "I'm Nina, the person who contacted you earlier with some questions? Glad you could make it! I hope I didn't get both of you at a bad time?"

Laurel remained in his miffed little slump until Nina approached and all disinterest in the meeting flew off his shoulders. He moved quickly upward, his eyes going straight to her missing arm, and couldn't help but let his mouth fall slightly open into an o-shape. ... She had to have a story about that to tell, right? He leaned forward and took a breath, only to get cut off as Oliver stood."Hello Nina! It lovely to meet you!" Oliver greeted, offering a hand out to shake. "And no, of course not, Laurel and I have nothing planned today and we're more than happy to answer any questions you have! Right Laurel?""Questions? Oh! Y-yeah!" Laurel replied, nudging the chair next to him a bit. "You can sit next to me, Nina, if you want! ... Unless you guys are gonna go get food first."

Nina reached forward and gave the blond's hand a hearty, firm shake; releasing her grip only to turn her attention plainly to Laurel. The honor of sitting next to the Raevan made her childishly giddy, but Nina reflected her contentment coolly with a smile and nod of her head. "Ah, of course! I would love to sit next to you," she said, taking a small step over to the seat, but she hesitated from another come the topic of food.
"Or we could get some food and then talk. How's that sound? You must be famished." She let the question hand in the air with hopes its broadness wasn't just applicable to Oliver alone. While she had a range of questions to ask, one of them was definitely the matter of food. In fact, now seemed the ripe opportunity to segue into the topic of what Raevans actually ate.
"Is there something either of you would like? Oliver? Laurel?" The brunette's eyes hung on the cheetah Raevan for a fraction of a second longer than his guardian. "I'm not too picky with food, so I can just order from wherever or whatever you have a hankering for!"

Laurel smiled broadly as Nina appeared to be moving to sit down, but let out a soft huff when she hesitated. Man, did he have to open his mouth? He'd only asked out of politeness, really, but now he'd opened the topic for discussion. Watching people eat in front of him was one of his least favorite things. His lips pursed.
"I can't eat anything here, except maybe from a table." He replied, slumping down in the chair. "But I'm not really that hungry anyway...""I was thinking about grabbing a sandwich and an iced tea, nothing too big." Oliver said, side-eyeing Laurel with a laugh. "Yeah, didn't you eat when we took a walk earlier? You said you'd taken some weight from the trees.""Mhm." Laurel hummed, glancing off to the side and toward the ceiling. He'd had his fill, but he'd probably be hungry again in a few hours if he'd understood his body's rhythm so far. His eyes slowly left the ceiling and went back to Nina. "What do you think you'll get Nina? Those noodles over there look really good."
And they did, honestly. It took all his willpower not to feel jealous. Being able to smell everything delicious here and not eat it had to be classified as some kind of torture somewhere in this world. The second he had a stomach, he'd be eating everything in sight.unohime I'm sorry this took so long! > 3>;
