Ruulu 1
Ruulu brushed herself off. It had been a long journey to Matori but she felt like the effort had been worth it, they hadn't seen any of the bug mages. It seemed like the threat had subsided somewhat and she wasn't quite as concerned as before now that Tsallin had grown as tall as her. They had paired up for the journey. Besides she had noticed that her Mother had somewhat stealthily tracked them all the way here.

Tsallin 1
Tsallin reached over and threaded his fingers through hers. He too had noticed her Mother occasionally and idly wondered if Iroia was conspiring with Irohna too. Leafling mothers unite as it were. he smiled at the idea, let them see. Ruulu was his special person. They had taken to visiting each other quite regularly so their friendship shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone really.

Rydan was hiding in the treeline wating for an interesting creature to walk by that he could harass. So far it had just been little fiddler crabs which, although very fun to chase, had become rather mundane over time. His head swiveled as he heard voices. Two prentices were walking up the beach hand in hand. How cute, like Mom and Dad only miniature...and strange looking.

Ruulu was on a rant about the proper ratio of different insects to be feeding young kinfa for optimal health "...grasshoppers too for extra fiber, particulary the red ones as it keeps the immune system healthy, grubs for energy, you know the big white ones..." Her antennae twitched and she paused mid-rant. "Do you feel...like we are being watched Tsa?" She liked using his pet name, it suited him so well.

Tsallin blinked bright green eyes at the sudden change of topic. "Hmm?" He hadn't sensed anything but the worry in her ttonee switched him from a relaxed guy walking on the beach to a bristling young warrior willing to fight down to the bone. "You think its a beast? I hear Matori has strange ones."

Rydan froze, had he been spotted, he glanced about for a deeper hiding spot but to no avail. Meanwhile the pair approached so he attempted the super stealthy reverse wiggle. All he could see now were feet and the bushes parted to reveal their faces. "Hey!" He squawked indignantly. "I was waiting for creatures and you two scared them away!"

Ruulu peered curiously into the bushes at the small hybrid frozen in cobra pose. He was pretty cute with the flake of silver hair and the small antennae. Had she ever been that cute? "Hello there sorry we scared your creatures away." Salukis flew down and landed on her shoulder assuming that the people were looking for bugs. She gave a startled squawk and puffed up at the earthling they had found instead of a nice juicey bug. She gave Ruulu and Tsallin something to giggle about.

Tsallin smirked at the disconcerted kinfa. It was so cute when she fluffed up like that. He examined the youngling before him as well. Definitely some shifter blood a dab of alk and if he wasn't mistaken some iceling skin. How curious! Non of the identifiable races included water.

"Yeah I don't come to your place and scare all of your fun away do I?" He watched the kinfa with facination for a moment. "What is that? I've never seen one of them before. Do they live in Matori? Or are they from where you are from?" A second bird came to alight on the boys arm. "Ooh two!"

"Ahem well," she glanced at Tsallin unable to keep the small smile off her face. "This is a kinfa, they live in the Tale which is a savannah biome. Neither of us were born in Tale but our Mothers were. I had thought that you might be my mom spying on us but I can see I couldn't be more wrong, even though you kind of look like me."
She threaded her fingers soothingly through Salukis's feathers until the kinfa calmed. She was not overly fond of strangers at the best of time.

"He does kinda look like you. Maybe you two are related somehow." Onlias was less shy than the female kinfa. He kept walking down Tsallin's arm to get a better look at the hybrid, chirping questions, while Salukis all but growled.
"Why don't you stand up, your chances of finding that creature is probably done." He offered a hand to the boy.

Rydan took the offered hand. "I doubt we are related." His genetics were complicated to say the least. "How would you know anyway your a full blood leafling." Rydan had not met many people yet and as such he was still a bit backward at times in his thoughts. He offered a hand for the curious black kinfa and gave a start as Onlias hopped over and started to groom his hair. "He's so light I thought he would be heavier."

"They have to be light to fly, but the adults are much heavier, people can even ride on them. I can't wait to soar above the earth with Salukis. For the time being she makes a wonderful snuggle buddy and heater when its col out."
Salukis chirped an affirmative before taking off to do a little hunting. Ruulu watched her fly over the waves.
"I wonder if she can catch a fish that way."

"I bet she can, lets just hope she doesn't get soggy, we would have to go rescue her and you know she had her pride," He chuckled.
"Onlias would rather beg for scraps or hunt on land."
He wiggled his fingers and Onlias looked at him curiously. Tsallin noticed Ruulu's feelers twitch in amusement. He wished he had been born with feelers, they were so cool.

"These are babies?!" He started, staring in fascination at Onlias who stared back with one eye like he too had found something fascinating. "So they are younglings too! That is so cool!"
He was reasonably sure now that the two prentices were not here to do any harm. "Do you think I could have one too, how did you get yours?"
