Alassiel rolled her shoulders, she was happy to be off the flying thing and back on Belrea. Z'ran had business to attend to and she was looking forward to a bit of a vacation. Ziel was also supposed to be meeting up with her in Belrea and she was looking forward to seeing her daughter again too.
“I see my contact,” Zran waved at a Geian man who was accompanied by a teenager that Alassiel guessed was his daughter.
“How long are we in Belrea for?”
“Maybe two weeks or three, not too long. I'm sure you'll be happy to see Ziel in the process.”
“Indeed,” that was going to be the first thing Alassiel did.

Ila stood still next to her father and watched as he waved to a man and a woman who made their way over to them.
“Welcome Z'ran and Alassiel. I'm happy to see both of you made it alright. This is my daughter Ila, Alassiel she'll be your guide around the city while Z'ran and I conduct business. I apologize that my wife could not be here, she's a bit sick and could not come out.”
The Shifter woman smiled down at Ila who smiled back at her. She'd read that Shifters had skins that could shift, hence their name, and she was curious to ask the woman a few questions.

“Alright well have fun.” Alassiel gave Z’ran a kiss on the cheek before going to Ila’s side and followed after her.
“Belrea is still so strange and interesting, like nothing back home I’ve ever seen.” They all seemed so… smart and advance with so many foreign concepts it was really so odd to her. She truly wished she could have brought her snaptrotter with her. She’d have felt at least a bit safe but she was always afraid that they’d want to pick him apart and she’d be crowded. Not that she wasn’t asked plenty of questions now, sometimes it was overwhelming.

“I’ve never been away from Belrea but I believe my studies will enable me to travel outside once I am old enough.” Her parents would never let her go off on some expedition, not while she was still in school. She needed to bring up her grades.
“I heard your home was very beautiful too though, very raw and pure.” she’d also heard the word untouched used as well. It all sounded quite mystical to her. She was looking forward to seeing it. She wanted to further her research and if she could find plants to help their own…
“I am sorry to ask but, does shifter skin truly Shift?”

“I supposed that’s one way to describe it.” If Tendaji was behind well it would make it seem very pure she supposed. The girl’s next question made her chuckle.
“Yes my skin shifts with the sun and moon. It is the will of our gods.” She didn’t know if Belreans were religious or not but that was what the Shifters believed.
“So what is planned for today?” Not that Alassiel was getting impatient but she did want to get some food at some point and probably before seeing the city.
“Do you see a lot of travelers coming to Belrea?”

Well that was certainly interesting. She wondered if the plants from the shifter’s home also changed color. Plants closed for the night and opened to take in the sun but what if they took in the moons rays instead? The concept was certainly interesting and something she’d want to incorporate into the crops.
“Today I’ll just be showing you around the city so you don’t get lost. I do have school so I can’t guide you the whole time. “
“More and more I would say, but I think many are a bit afraid since it’s travel by air and all.”

“Oh good, any way we could grab a quick bite to eat?”
“I can understand being afraid. For us folk who aren’t used to long voyages in the air it’s quite something! We do have some riders who ride creatures who fly but never for such long periods of time.”
Alassiel hadn’t been too sure about the whole thing the first time they’d come and truth be told Z’ran had pushed her to come with him. Knowing Ziel had come had also served for her to come but she would never have ventured out on her own. It was quite something.

“Oh of course, I am so sorry. You must be famished!” Her father would have smacked her learning that she wasn’t taking care of their guests properly. Ila turned into the busy market place.
“This is the main market road if you ever want to grab something to eat.” Her father had given her some coins for this very occasion. Ila spotted her favorite restaurant and pointed to it.
“That place should not be so packed during this time.” Ila headed there, stepping into the cooler building away from the open sun outside. “A table please!” She said to the woman serving the patrons.

“Don't worry about it! I am hungry but I could have waited a bit.” Poor girl looked so flustered.
The Shifter followed the girl as the moved through the crowd, everything here seemed so orderly and neat. Alassiel felt completely out of place walking along with the Belreans.
The place that Ila took them was a small quaint little thing, she had been right there were very few people at the tables but all of them turned to look at her when they entered together. They were all too curious, far too curious for their own good. Alassiel did not like being stared at.

Ila didn't notice at all that people were staring at the older Shifter woman. So when they were led to their table, Ila sat down ad immediately picked up the menu.
“Everything here is very good,” she said in a pleasant tone. She already knew what she wanted to eat, but you never knew if they were going to add something new to the menu. “If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I've been here many times.” Ila didn't want to sound like she was boasting or anything so she set the menu down and waited for Alassiel to pick her food.

"I'll just have a salad." Alassiel didn't know what half of these things were and well she didn't want to ask a bunch of questions. Something about not wanting to seem like the dumb Tendajian. A lot of Belreans seemed to think they were all simple and Alassiel did not want to perpetuate that belief.
and so when the waitress came Alassiel made her order and then made small talk with Ila until their food arrived. then they ate and talked through mouthfuls. Ila seemed to be very interested in a lot of Tendaji's vegetation which was peculiar but who was she to judge?

Once they were done eating, Ila paid for the meal and took Alassiel back out onto the streets. It was time to show her around and show her some of the monuments around the city. She showed her her some their most prestigious schools and talked about the school system here since she had heard very little in terms of the educations Tendajians were given. She was quite surprised to learn that Alassiel had had no education whatsoever or at least nothing what her parents taught her to survive and then everything else was learning on her own. Ila found it all a little crazy.

It was hard for Alassiel to figure out Ila. As she spoke of home the Geian seemed at times completely fascinated with their way of life and others completely horrified. Ally was surprised the people here lived such a cushy life, they had things called schools and children most definitely followed in their parents footsteps when it come to their work. They prized intelligence quite a bit and while Alassiel didn't disagree she believed you needed another kind of intelligence to be able to survive Tendaji. At least she was learning lots while she was here, Ila was showing her all the Geian things the city had to offer.

By the time dinner was beginning to roll around Ila headed back to her family home.
"My father and your husband should have almost concluded their first day, my mother will have dinner soon too so we should head back."
If she was late bringing back their guest home her parents were going to have her hide and she would never be given such important tasks ever again. Her siblings would openly laugh in her face. So they hurried home and Ila was glad to see that they made it just as they were setting the table. Her siblings swarmed them as they came in.

Alassiel was a little overwhelmed when they returned to the family home of the Geians. Not just because they'd been out all day and she'd been learning and soaking up information quickly, but because Ila's siblings all came rushing over to ask her multiple questions. Ila left her a little bit to speak to her mother while Ally tried to answer as many questions as she could.
"That was a little..." Ally chuckled as they walked along side. Ila was showing her, her room. "I have many siblings but this was quite different." They took had been just as curious as Ila.
