"When mother said to be open minded I didn't think she would mean this kind of open minded," Epimetheus remarked, casting his gaze towards the great expanse that was to be their home. It wasn't their home yet, on the contrary, they had scarcely made it beyond the boundary without a serious grilling, but their mother had been very clear. This was where they would have come from if their father hadn't been mired in a war. As such, it would be beneficial for them to grow accustomed to the region while they were still young... though it was not without its difficulties. Already they had come up against a considerable amount of resistance, namely towards Epimetheus's existence, while his brother had been positively venerated, Heralding from a family like theirs left them with a vague measure of confusion that the black and white siblings hadn't quite managed to process. Conveniently, the eldest of the three brothers, and the most like their father, was well aware of the fundamental issues surrounding his younger siblings.

The fact of the matter was that both Prometheus and Epimetheus existed on opposite ends of a very tempermental spectrum. In the eyes of this society, Prometheus was god given and divine, for all intents and purposes his coat colour guaranteed respect regardless of what personality he may possess; Epimetheus on the other hand, was regarded as a scourge and an omen. Though Epimetheus was just as diplomatic and good humoured as his white sibling, it was his coat alone that seemed to set out his future for him here. Or rather it would have if they had been raised here, and undoubtably had been raised by someone other than the Divine Arimathras. While no one had been entirely aware of who they were at the time, Nyctimus had managed to secure their entrance into the region by his word and resemblance. Epimetheus and Prometheus may not look anything like him, but while he vouched for them, they were both permitted entry into the Al-Siq under the assumption tat Nyctimus was most assuredly Destati's son, and his most likely heir.

Prometheus and Epimetheus however, were simply 'aquaintances'.

"She did warn us that this region was particularly sensitive," Prometheus agreed. Having finally passed through the main 'gate' and into the first of the major regions, he had concluded that the entire place was a mess. Politically, culturally, religiously... The region was shattered; splintered along predominantly religious lines, and then more interesting into political factions. It seemed that there were several undercurrants at play in this world and he, as an outlander, had much to learn. That aside, he couldn't say that he appreciated the sentiments towards his twin brother - whatever the political or religious affiliations of those around him might have been, Epimetheus's existence wasn't a 'burden' and he had no interest in distancing himself from that which would bring 'destruction'.

...What did that even mean anyway?

Arimathras hadn't really provided him with that education whenever she had guided them to their new home, and their father hadn't had the time to do so either. He was simply too busy with his war and the 'scourge', something that none of them had been permitted to participate in.

"Splintered along several axis," Nyctimus remarked as he continued through the street, lined with several caves that seemed to contain everything from schools to some form of merchandise. "Highly superstitious, plenty of political intrigue, and very religious," he continued. "They have an incredible aversion towards those of black fur, while positively adoring anything that's pure white," he added and glanced briefly towards his brothers. His eyebrow quirked and then he afforded a wry smile of amusement. "Suffice it to say that I am average and exhibit typical traits within he region so I'm not the most exotic thing here," he pointed out.

"No s**t," Epimetheus muttered as he strode between both of his brothers. It seemed to be in his best interests to keep himself between both, otherwise, those nearby were liable to show a considerable amount of hostility. He didn't even understand it either, but the more his eldest brother spoke, the more he realised that Nyctimus probably knew far more than either he or Prometheus had given him credit for.

"Nobles versus civilians or?" Prometheus asked.

"Nobles versus nobles," Nyctimus replied. "Two factions, one preferring to retain the status quo until the prophecy is fulfilled... and the other would prefer to rule in the Justicar's stead. They seem to be of the opinion they can be more progressive and move the pride into a new age on their own."

"But?" Epimetheus pressed.

"The more 'progressive' side are also the most arrogant and inclined to treat those of standard rank with little respect," he shrugged his shoulders. "Fortunately the ruling Justicars of this land aren't being co-operative."

"Father never was," Prometheus grinned.

"Except for around mother," Epimetheus pointed out with a smirk.

"Regardless, it's probably in our best interests not to take any sides in the given circumstances, or to even imply we have a side. For the time being you are both safe, no one knows that we're related. I on the otherhand, am a touch more obvious."

"Am I even allowed to take a side based on the general concensus that I'm a scourge on society?" Epimetheus mused, waving away Prometheus's disapproving glance.

"You're certainly entitled to an opinion regardless of what others might think of you," Nyctimus stated. "Those who believe they can remove that right are delluding themselves," he added.

"All right, but why exactly am I burden on society?"

"A fair question," Prometheus agreed, acknowledging that Nyctimus did indeed seem to have briefed more extensively than the pair, though he wasn't entirely sure as to why this might have been done.

"Neither of you were briefed on the current war?" Nyctimus asked suddenly and glanced towards them both. He had assumed that Destati had at least briefed all three to some extent, though he had given Nyctimus considerable intel simply because of what the future 'may' have held for him. As of yet, Nyctimus was still uncertain as to whether or not he would pursue this offer and his father had respected that, something he was grateful for.

"No." They stated in unison.

"...Then I would suggest we find a quiet place to rest," the spotted male remarked with a small sigh. "But in short, they don't like you because you are almost identical to the very thing they're at war with," he murmured and gave a nod of his head for both of his brothers to follow. "It is however, considerably more complex than that, and the general populace do not have the capacity to understand the scale of what they currently face..."

"Wonderful," Prometheus sighed and dropped his head.

"Aha, so I'm about to find out that I'm the spawn of hell?"

Nyctimus merely offered a bemused smile.

"You have to admit that's fantastically ironic in the given circumstances," Epimetheus continued, though he wasn't afforded an answer. Instead, he was given no option other than to follow after their eldest brother to a place where they could get up to speed...
