Viktor stepped off the train and glanced around. He had nothing more than the clothes on his back and a small nap sack that was thrown over his back. He glanced around the area taking a deep breath in. He heard there was a mercenary guild around here that may hold information in his search for a specific dark guild he had been hunting. It was under his suspicion that two members from his old guild had taken up holding there. He was by no means done with his search. In his mind he had only one goal, one reason to live. He had to hunt down the dark guilds and keep their influence from causing pain the those around them and negatively influencing the minds of other mages. As long as such darkness existed he knew there would be others like him tainted by its deadly charm.
Here in Texas he hoped to shed some light on the workings of Dragon Bane. The name was known throughout the country told in soft whispers. His many trips to the bars had been for more than mere indulgence. He might be considered a drunk but it was all for a specific reason. When gathering information no one suspected the blubbering drunk yelling out delusions of grandeur. Even if he was completely new people only took him for a fool and therefore it was the perfect disguise that also allowed him to indulge himself.
He glanced around him taking in the scene and the people around one more time before he wandered off in search of the nearest tavern. Not every attempt was successful he could say most of the time it lead to dead ends, but it was those moments in the minority that got him that much closer to his goal. Not to mention after that ride he could use a few drinks.

At the station, a man leaned against a pillar holding his phone up and watching a newsfeed directly from Third Street Promenade in L.A.. It seemed a man shrouded in flames spewing fire and lightning had attacked the area and three Sabertooth wizards, one of which was the guild's ace, we're facing off against him. He chuckled to himself, "Seems like Master Kimura was right. Subject 079-001-1 will keep them nice and busy and if everything goes to plan, that psycho ace is ours," he smirked. A notification pinged on his screen telling him to switch channels. Upon doing so he found himself receiving live footage from Republic Square. His smile only grew upon seeing the lightning crack the ground and rush towards two people approaching the girl known as Subject 079-077-1, "Oh this is just too good!" he cackled, watching intently without a care for who saw him. He was confident his guild mark was covered and no one knew who he was.

OOC: Hi! Your character looks awesome btw!

Viktor had begun moving his way towards a nearby tavern. He was currently whistling a small tune as he glanced around him at his surroundings. He came off as quite aloof and distant, nothing like one would expect of a powerful mage. But he was never one to show off his powers, even in his years in the dark guild. He had changed a lot since those days, but even now he had a way of making himself seem something he was not. It had worked out well for him and it just happened to be who he was and he had no interest in changing it. That also went for the drink he looked forward to having. He could never resist a good brew, some of the inns nearby popular guilds had grown to make some incredible concoctions. Unfortunately, his fantasies of drinking were interrupted as someone nearby was cackling quite eccentrically, being a man of jokes and stories he couldn't resist but figure out what was so hilarious. So he altered his path and began wandering over to the man who was glaring at his phone quite intently. He paused as he got in front of the man who seemed still intent on whatever he was watching. "Must be a good show" he said curiously as he made an effort to glance at the man's phone. He picked up a small scent of magic as he did so but made no notice. Mentally he made a note to keep an eye on the man although none of this quenched his curiosity as to what could possibly be so funny.

OOC: Thanks! And thank you for posting so I can begin getting him involved in the rp.

Hearing a voice behind him, the man stood up straight and immediately shoved his phone into his pocket, "It's really not any of your business," he said, narrowing his eyes at the stranger standing so close to him. There was a magical aura around him so he had to tread carefully. All the members of the Dragon's Bane guild were warned to keep a relatively quiet existence. That's how they'd been so successful up until now and even though their activities had been noticed: the lacrima mining, missing non-magic youths and seemingly random berserk wizard attacks, none had been drawn back to them yet and providing the people tasked with subduing the guild members of Fairy Tail and Sabertooth did their job, they would continue to evade detection, "Is there something I can help you with?" he asked bluntly. His original smile and scrutiny of the strangers appearance becoming a blank stare.

OOC: so sorry it took so long!

Viktor had his doubts still but this man was proving to be more and more suspicious as he tried to hide what he was previously looking at. He was assuming his original suspicions might be on track. He didn't let any of this show though as he raised his hands in defense and gave the man a confused look. "I apologize for the interruption. I didn't mean to inconvenience you, I was just hoping you could help me find my way to a specific Inn around this town. I believe it is referred to as the Lanster Inn." This was one of his basic set-ups in conversation. People with things to hide would jump on a chance to rid themselves of disturbances. They would jump on a chance to misdirect him to get him off their back. Any local would simply tell him they knew of no such place and redirect him to another Inn of a similar name which he may have gotten confused. "If you would kindly help me, I will be out of your way" he added as he continued playing dumb as just a visitor. He would assume due to the magical aura he felt around him, that the man was a mage as well and would, therefore, feel his aura despite how well he tried to hide it. It would come off as weaker, but due to the extent of his magical prowess, it would be almost impossible to hide without the help of specific magical items which he currently didn't have the money for.

((OOC: No worries. I forgot to tag you anyways. I'll make sure to do that from here on out.))

The man narrowed his eyes at the stranger. Why did he specifically want to ask him where this place was? There were plenty of other people around. He sighed impatiently, "Fine. If that's all you want. Go out of the station, take a right, follow that road down, take another right and it will be at the end of that street, OK? Now run along," he said, turning away to walk off and find some place else to sit and watch the pleasing newsfeed. Finding a bench in the corner, he retrieved his phone from his pocket once more. Things had progressed nicely in L.A. He snorted a much quieter laugh watching the small celestial wizard known as Octavia, struggle to her feet. Her legs were burned but not nearly as badly as the Sabertooth ace. Raine's whole back was red raw, his undoubtably expensive shirt ruined. A new spirit had joined their ranks. He couldn't see their face but he could make an educated guess. He could bet not many of the celestial beings were built of pure muscle with hair as golden as the sun. The only wizard who didn't seem to be struggling was the stone woman, Andrea, the S-Class elemental mage. She would be nice to bring in as well but she wasn't a current target. One at a time. "They've got to be running out of steam," he said to himself.

Viktor showed no signs that he was setting a trap, nor that the man had fallen into it. Viktor knew for sure now that this man was not a local and that he had something to hide. There was yet no direct evidence linking him to a dark guild, but he wasn't yet ready to just let the man walk free. He decided in this moment it was best to keep an eye on him to see what exactly he might be up to. Someone with his magical power wasn't just a regular citizen. Viktor, unfortunately, would have to put off his drink for later and focus on this man for now.

As the man directed him Viktor just nodded glancing in the direction the man had told him he needed to go. He nodded and turned around as if to start walking away. "Thank you! I appreciate the help!" he said back as he turned a corner. When he knew he was out of sight he glanced back around the corner to see that, thankfully, the man had already begun to walk away. When he found the right moment he used his magic to reduce the gravity around his feet and practically float across the ground, making no noise as he moved to follow the man. He watched as he sat down on a bench in a corner. Fortunately for him, that gave him the perfect spot to watch the man from. He moved behind the building the bench was in front of and used his magic to raise himself to the top of the building. Slowly he moved himself to glance over the edge and down at the man and his phone. He wished he had some sort of visual magical item so he could make out exactly what was on the phone, but luckily the man wasn't quiet as he spoke to himself. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't much but a few comments about what he was watching on the phone. It seemed like there was some sort of fight although unfortunately, he couldn't make out details. It seemed his whole reconnaissance mission was already failing him. At this rate, he could just be following some man watching a television show. Yet some instinct in him told him otherwise and that was what kept him there.

As time went on, the fight in L.A. was starting to look more and more like a failure. The experiment they'd set loose on Third Street Promenade was looking more than a little worse for wear now. His flames were slowly dying and somewhere along the line he'd lost an arm and was now bleeding out, "Damn. That ace is ruthless," he said, noting that Raine was the only one who would have committed such an act of brutality, "Shame he's on their side. He would have been a nice addition to the guild. Though I can't say having another lunatic in our ranks would be the best of ideas. Taking his magic will do just fine." It looked like it was the end of the line for experiment 079-001-1. Surely 'Blood Raine' would finish him off soon enough and Master Kimura would have to step in and retrieve the psycho for herself. Switching off the newsfeed, he flicked through his contact list and called one of his guild mates for an update. However he received only a voicemail. Feeling he was a safe distance away from anyone, he spoke freely in his message, "Checking in to see how far you've gotten with your mission. Let me know if the sand b***h was any help because I would love to know how she did against Ymir. Better not let her hold you back or the master will blame the both of you for her lack of poison dragon slayer. Get back to me ASAP." Hanging up, he dialled a second number and once again only received a voicemail, "Checking in for a report. Let me know if you've managed to grab the water dragon slayer. There's three of you so it shouldn't have been a problem so make sure you get back to me ASAP," he said with a tone of less familiarity than with the first call. Another number, another voicemail, "Checking in for a report. Get back to me as soon as you've located and retrieved the celestial dragon slayer." The man growled in frustration. Why was no one picking up? Lastly, he dialled the number of his master, "Hello, Master. Sorry to interrupt you but I thought I would let you know that none of the teams have gotten back to me yet. I've had no confirmation that any slayers have been collected. However, our Third Street release has been a failure. The Sabertooth ace has lived up to his reputation and butchered our experiment. The nutcase has barely got a scratch on him so I'm afraid we need to rely on you now," he said sincerely. Finally putting down his phone, the man massaged his forehead in frustration. Why couldn't he have been one of the people on a retrieval mission? Instead he had to wait around and see what came of the Republic Square experiment.

Viktor may have had no magical items, but his hearing was still as sharp as ever. Not to mention the man seemed to not hold back on his voice when it came to speaking which he would soon regret. By now he had already realized his original assumption had been correct and came to the conclusion the man as working with a dark guild. Now that he had this information he wasn't going to waste any time. It didn't seem the man as in any hurry to leave so it might be best he go ahead and confront him. He couldn't be sure of the man's intentions or of his plans and didn't want to miss his chance. He had spent the last few years of his life looking for dark guilds and he wasn't about to pass up this opportunity.
He moved his hand up as he decreased the gravity around him using a simple spell. He slowly floated don before landing in front of the man with his arms crossed. "It seems your guild as the one I have been hearing rumors about. Causing incidents in order to capture dragon slayers. You should probably think of keeping your voice down when you talk about that kind of stuff. Not very secretive." Fortunately for him, this man knew nothing about him, but unfortunately it was also the same the other way around. If this came to a battle they would both be going in blind. He could tell the man held impressive magical power, but exactly to what extent, he couldn't tell. He just had to hope that he wasn't biting off more than he could chew. Even with his magical prowess, there were easily other mages out there more powerful and experienced than him. He just had to hope this wasn't the case.

The dark guild member gave a small start upon hearing a voice above him. As a man floated down to face him he immediately recognised him as the one who'd requested directions only a short while ago. That was now clearly a lie. He should have known there some something about him that didn't fit. "You shouldn't eavesdrop on stranger's conversations. It's very rude," he said, standing, "Even so, nothing I said means anything unless you have proof and you don't, so this is especially none of your business," he continued, lifting a hand towards the man, "I suggest you move on and remove this little encounter from your memory or I'll have to hit you so hard that you forget."

OOC: I would guess this is where our battle starts! Here are the battle rules! LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!

Viktor sighed feigning disappointment as he glanced at the man. "How rude, I was hoping we could talk this out at the nearby pub. Seems as if that isn't much of a choice now." He sighed disappointingly and glanced around. "As much as I'd like to leave and go have a few drinks, I couldn't rightfully do so knowing a pest like you is running amok in this nice little town. I will warn you though, I am not your run of the mill mage. You are between me and my next drink so I'd prepare yourself." he joked as he stood there half-hazardly seeming about as imposing as a toddler hose candy as just stolen. But mentally he as fully prepared for what as about to come next. He knew a battle had just started but his main goal as to end it quickly and minimize damage to the town. Yet he still knew very little about the dark guild mage in front of him. He had to hope the mage would fall for his charades and lower his guard, providing an early opening.

(OOC: So excited! I'll give you the first shot. Read over everything and I am really looking forward to using the battle system for the first time.)

The dark scoffed, "I couldn't care less what you think of me. You must be some kind of idiot to think I'd give you the time to sit and buddy up over drinks. I've got much more important things to deal with than one nosey a**hole," he frowned, holding his hand up with his palm facing the man, "If you just f**ked off to have your drink then there wouldn't be an issue. I'm not in your way, you just can't seem to find a different route," he said, the area around his hand glowing, "Purple Rain" Glowing purple bullets flew towards the man. If they hit, the hope would be the resultant damage would put him off pushing any further for information and leave with his tail between his legs.

Victor - 800/800
vs
A-Class Dragon's Bane wizard (Purple Flare magic) - 700/700

OOC: I can keep track of scores for us
Basically, if I end up with 0, if Victor casts a spell to only counter the bullets, you don't have to roll for that because the bullets won't cause any damage. However, if your spell is to both counter AND hit my NPC in one go you do have to roll for it. Same with other spells designed to hit him back. Make sense?

Viktor shrugged. "Your loss" he stated as he prepared himself. It seemed at this moment a switch activated in his mind and he dropped any previous demeanors and became totally focused on the battle ahead. In doing so he was well prepared for the man to throw the first attack. He had already gathered enough energy and In a swift motion, he threw his both hands into the air above him. "Gravity Pulse." The gravity he had gathered suddenly burst outward colliding with everything in close vicinity including the bullets that were coming at him from above, almost immediately canceling them out on impact. The pulse also continued forward towards the man with a force that could only be attributed to an advanced spell. The only physical sign of the pulse as the breaking of the upper layer of dirt as the pulse pushed forward. It as at this time Viktor wondered if using an advanced spell first might not have been the best decision. Luckily it seemed no one else was nearby.at the time.

((OOC: First off i'm so sorry for the delay. My computer decided to die on me. Secondly, let's do this! I read all the rules and I think I fully understand how the battle system works.))
