- - - -"Oh come on..." Sareth grumbled as he looked at the undercarriage of the horseless carriage. It had been brought in for a simple repair job, but so far he'd done up to 24 minor repairs. The bill was getting racked up quickly, and he imagined that the owner wasn't going to be pleased. He wouldn't be. But the repairs needed to be done, and he hoped that, jut maybe, he'd be able to give the customer a discount. Hearing the bell ring as the door open, he waited for the cheery, happy voice of his boss to welcome them. When he didn't hear it, he heaved a HEAVY sigh and slid out from under the carriage. Wiping his hands off to try and at least get some of the mud, muck, oil and grease off him, he slid behind the counter instead. "Welcome to Ryder Repair." He couldn't bring himself to fake the cheeriness...He was so exhausted from a long day...and it wasn't even afternoon yet.

Hella wasn't really sure what she was doing at the repair shop, perhaps she just wanted to get a look at a mechanic that had a degree and was already set up. When she saw the hallowed hybird, she got a bit nervous and she wasn't sure what to say. "Umm well hi, umm I'm Hella, I'm a carriage repair student at the community college." She said despite Hella's appearance she was a soft gentle being. Hella didn't have a mean bone in her body. She didn't hurt others and just wanted to learn to fix carriages it was a simple good goal in her opinion.

- - - -Oh. Oh wow. Sareth couldn't help but stare a bit. By the time he realized he might be being rude, he'd almost forgotten what she'd said. Scrunching his nose a bit to recall her words, he then decided to go the best route; bullshit the conversation. "Sareth." He nodded, sliding onto the torn-up stool that served as a seat when taking orders or questions. "I'm here part time for now." He wanted to become a full-time mechanic, but his family insisted that it would be a waste of his university degree. He couldn't help it though, working on carriages came as naturally and was as enjoyable as metal sculptures. "Can I help you with anything today?"

Hella wasn't sure what to say she felt really shy around this hallowed goblin. She looked down at her boots and then back up. She had mentioned her name and still didn't know the name of the mechanic. "Well, would you mind if I watched you work for a little while before I let you get back to work in peace." Hella wasn't really sure what else to say, they had just met and Hella might look tough but she was a soft gooey center sort. She also wasn't much of a flirt, so asking the mechanic out wasn't likely to happen, but at least she could find the courage to hang out with them to learn something.

- - - -That was it? Sareth could hardly believe that someone just wanted to watch him work. But it wasn't all bad, really, he could get back to work and maybe have someone to talk to while he worked now. "Sure thing! Just be careful." Turning to head out of the lobby, he paused to grab a pair of adjustable welding goggles to hand to Hella before he continued out. "Not just cuz of sparks, but wrenches can go flying." He chuckled before stopping to lean on the carriage he had been working on. "I'm known sometimes as 'Sareth the wrench-flinger'. And I've only caused one concussion so far."

Hella smiled and sat down to watch Sareth work, she really wanted to learn more and talking with someone else who shared her passion was really nice too. "I will thank you so much." Hella said softly. Hella smiled and said "Thank you." Then she put the goggles on to watch Sareth work. "Does that happen often?" Hella asked cocking her eyebrow. Hella laughed softly she liked Sareth they were really charming. Hella wasn't sure what else to think other than she was enjoying herself it was a nice calm afternoon with a fellow hallow she had just met and Hella was happy.

- - - -"Not too often..." He had to admit though, hitting people with wrenches was a hazard of the job, and he'd been hit a few times, himself. "...But often enough that I'm the best at it, apparently." He flashed her a smile before getting down onto the ground, rolling onto the old, battered, and covered-in-too-many-stickers creeper, and sliding under the carriage. "It's a thing we--nngh--" He grunted as he fought with a bolt that was so rusty, it was going to be near impossible to pull out without a lot of work and strength. "--Tend to do 'round here. This job isn't the safest yanno? But to me, it's better than sitting at a desk all day." He rolled back out from under the carriage and pointed to a tool box behind her. "Do me a favor? Can you toss me the ball joint separator?"

Hella smiled as she watched Sareth work, she looked his worked area and the tools he worked with, she wanted to do this herself someday once she graduated from carriage repair school. She enjoyed watching him work and listening to the few things he said while he was working. She got up and went to get the tool he asked for, then she carefully moved closer to him to hand him to tool hopefully without scaring him and making him bump his head since that was the last thing Hella wanted to happen. She was very much enjoying watching him work.

- - - -It took a while, but finally Sareth finished. The job was pretty much done, aside from oil cleanup, and he rolled back out from under the carriage. No injuries, no damage to the carriage itself...all in all, a job well done. "So." he began, grabbing an oil rag to wipe his hands at least, though his face was still smeared with oil. "You thinking about an internship at some point? I know the owner's looking for another mechanic soon." flashing her a fanged smile, Sareth slid a little closer to her. It was nice to have someone around, really. Working solo had gotten kind of...well, boring really.

Hella had been listening intently to Sareth that she hadn't noticed that he had moved till he was very close and she looked up surprised. It took her a moment to realized he had asked her a question. "Yea that would be great if I could get an internship." She said her tone soft. She wasn't sure what Sareth was doing so close to her but it was distracting. Hella didn't have many friends and she was a little on the quiet side so she didn't say much. So starting conversations, it wasn't easy for her. "Ummm yea.." She said mumbling.
