< Can’t you hit any harder?> The voice chirped annoyingly into Sid’s head as he lunged his dagger forward into the stuffed dummy in front of him. Something like hay poked out from the new made hole as he punched it half defeatedly in annoyance. < What was that suppose to accomplish?> She snarked again as he groaned rubbing the back of his neck as he stomped away. “Nothing. This is bullshit isn’t there something better I can be doing then waving you in front of some dummy. Not like it’s going to hit back or some s**t.” < Can always spar with someone.>

Listless was a pretty good way to describe Zane Walker as he wandered. The events of the island - the year-long dream - had shaken him and despite his efforts he couldn't shake off the way it effected him.
It probably didn't help that he didn't have many people he knew, or cared, about on Deus.
<You could fix that> Lerna's rough voice invaded his thoughts and the redhead scowled.
"Sounds like effort, pass," he quipped irritably, green eyes focusing up ahead as he spotted another, newish looking duded. His gaze dropped and he tried to just go past.

There was a sigh of annoyance under Sidney’s breath as he de-summoned the dagger, every time she made a point of being right he could feel more and more of his independence slipping away from him. It was almost degrading but considering she didn’t really exist beyond the weapon form there was still some sort of sympathy towards her crappy luck in life. It took only a second for him to spot someone not occupied with their own version of training, and only another for him to step in front of his path and stick a hand out. “Hey, how about a spar? Training?” Anything? He had to do whatever he could to keep the sound of desperation out of his voice.

<Look, no escaping an opportunity.> Lerna sneered and inwardly Zane groaned because there was a hand stopping him from going forward without stepping around it and someone was talking to him.
Cool. Great.
"I'm not--" He started only for Lerna to be a loud voice in his thoughts.

"Yeah okay, sure."

“Great.” Sid beamed a little as he offered out a hand to give an enthusiastic shake, it was almost like being saved from sheer boredom all over again. To be fair he would have done anything to not have to spend another hitting away at a block of wood. “Name’s Sid, you wouldn’t happen to be new here too would you?”

Zane shuffled from foot to foot, accepting the handshake without much fanfare. "Zane," he offered in return and then shrugged at the question.
"New is a relative term." Not quite true but not wrong either. One year on the island was creeping up on him fast and he felt like he was terrible unaccomplished for the time he had been around.

Well, Zane figured it was now or never.
Lerna crawled across his arm until the gauntlet took up the entirety of it. As it was still something he was unaccustomed to, it set him off balance just enough that when he swung, he missed, pretty spectacularly.
Or maybe that was just his way of showing his heart wasn't into it.
Whatever the reason, it didn't matter. He wasn't off to a good start.

Sid nodded giving his a fervent shake before letting go as if almost praising for him for offering to at least try to spar against him. It wasn’t something Sid was as familiar with but he had been in enough scraps to at least know how to hold enough ground when fighting someone. At least Zane didn’t have a sword like the last guy Sid fought watching curiously before summoning his own dagger. As cool as the gauntlet looked it was not a sort of weapon he wanted, too much weight, and too easy to get off balance as he watched Zane tumble for a moment before taking the opportune moment to strike. Bringing the dagger high he drove it hard towards the ginger’s unprotected back. HP: 40/40 DMG: 8 Charge: 1/3

Clearly he needed to practice more (Ugh, effort) because he left himself way too wide open as Sid drove the dagger, literally, into his back.
Thank god for fear shields even though it sent him sprawling into the ground, chin smacking against the floor hard enough to make him think he could see stars.
In his effort to climb back to his feet, he kicked out behind him blindly. It was ineffective, but maybe he'd convinced Sid to back up a bit.

When Zane hit the floor Sid sucked back his breath, he had to admit he almost felt that one watching the ginger spread out on the floor and then scramble away. Val hissed at him but he gave a half-hearted swing at him missing entirely if giving the other hunter at least a moment to recover from previous wounds. “You ok?” HP: 40/40 DMG: 0 Charge: 1/3

"Yeah, yeah," Zane almost snapped, waving his hand behind him as he sprang, sorta, to his feet. Sid was close enough that this time when he threw his weaponed arm out he managed to hit him.

The punch hurt like hell, pretty much as Sid expected with metal hitting flesh as breath escaped his lungs momentarily. Falling to one knee he tried to gasp for it back, it wasn’t the first time someone knocked the wind out of him but it was the first time someone hit him with a metal glove.

He swung at Sid again, albeit half heartedly.

The second hit hurt when it grazed his shoulder, it lacked the force it had earlier and Sid wasted no time scrambling to his feet to swing at his opponent’s open side. HP: 29/40 DMG: 5 Charge: 2/3

Dagger slashed the front of his shirt open and caught his stomach as he failed to move back in time. There was a hiss between teeth when Zane stumbled, but still managed to throw another punch.
Things were heating up at least and he found himself getting amped up.
