Ah-ha! She had gotten the base for the newest den she had been tasked to help create, met up with her aunt to have their weekly lessons on acting like a 'proper young woman', and even put in some work into her next personal project.
All-in-all most would call it a pretty productive day. But there was one thing, or more so, one person still left on her to-do list for the day.

Soleil.

Ever sense first meeting at the creche they had briefly encountered each other. Their relationship always staying at a awkward, but stable "my friends are your friends too so we'll be friendly towards each other" state. But not anymore! Yukio was bound and determined to crack that shell of hers and bump up from acquaintance to a real friend today. Come hell or high tide!

Well, unless Soleil expressed a huge displeasure in hanging around the excitable adolescences. In which case...well she would just have to accept things weren't meant to be.

But, that would be a bring to come across if they got there! For now first thing to do: Find the guest of honor herself.

If she wasn't hanging with one of the doom twins then she had to be around somewhere.

She had been around the brothers for a brief period, if only to welcome them back home following their expedition. To say that they had been absent for longer than anticipated was an understatement, but rumour had it that they had never been in any danger. Shortly after they had returned, so had one of the guards that had been 'assigned' to duties elsewhere. While the guard hadn't been forthcoming with information, it seemed that Huo and Shui had been well behaved on their journey...and if their chittering was anything to go by, they certainly had a few adventures to speak of.

Nevertheless, with the two boys sufficiently crowded, Soleil had offered no more than a wave of welcome and had once again returned to her own duties. Well, she would say 'duties', but as of yet she hadn't quite worked out what her fate was. The elders had all been encouraging and had confirmed that she didn't need to make a choice right away, but it seemed that a fair few of her friends had already slotted in to roles they enjoyed and felt a connection with.

Soleil had yet to find that place in the world.

It would come though, she knew it would. She just had to be patient and go with the flow as it were, but for now she had taken up lessons as a huntress, if only to help earn her keep. She wasn't the best at it, but she certainly wasn't the worst either and her hauls were often suitable... at least that's what her mentors had informed her. Then again the more she spent with the fishers in particular, the more she realised that they really did seem to move at a snails pace... The weight of the world could wait, they would handle it 'eventually'.

Suffice it to say that she hadn't quite mastered that particular attitude yet and she wasn't entirely confident she ever would!

For now though? Well, the young lioness was resting by the shoreline watching for tell tale signs of the returning shoals. They had been disturbed one too many times as of late and had been overly cautious since then -
just as well the pride had plenty of options...

It didn't take long for Yuikio to figure out that Soleil wasn't anywhere near the brothers. The two had been in definitions been swarmed the moment they had arrived home and despite them being home for nearly a day now it seemed the masses still hadn't gotten enough of them. With Soleil being well...Soleil Yukio highly doubted that the shy girl would willingly inject herself in that much chaos. It was a bit much for even a extreme extrovert!

Unfortunately that left her with little more to go off of but to just todder around and search every nook and cranny for her target. She was ashamed to admit that she knew close to nothing about her soon-to-be friend. She had no clue where her normal hang out spots where, what hobbies she liked to do so she could seek her doing them, or even where her family lived.

Would it be strange to start a friendship off with a game of twenty questions? Probably? Darn.

Yukio was close to swallowing her pride to start going around asking everyone she came into contact with if they had seen the stripped adolescences. (Well...okay she had already asked a few people out of desperation. Just a few though!)

With everyone otherwise preoccupied it wasn't hard to spot the small lioness sitting on the shore - given that she was the only one actually at the shore right now!
"Soleil!" She called out excitedly as she kicked up speed in her stride. "Finally I found you, I was starting to think you had disappeared off of the face of this Earth why I was working." She commented with a playful smile.

Plunking down without an invitation besides Soleil it was mere moments before the other adolescences found herself being crushed in a tight bear hug. Respect of personal space never had been, nor most likely would it ever be a suit with Yukio. It just didn't feel right not to greet your loved ones with affection!

Without pulling away or giving Soleil a chance to respond she continued on her rapid fire responses. "Are you free to come hang with me today?"

She hadn't been expecting the hug, it was greeted with a sharp intake of breath and a strained squeak. It wasn't that she didn't mind an invasion of some personal space, but she didn't necessarily appreciate it when it came as a sudden thing - generally speaking she appreciated some form of warning before it occurred. Nevertheless when she had identified who had decided to invade her space, she settled somewhat. It was with a gentle paw that she pushed the lioness away from her and regarded her quietly for a moment or two.

...It wasn't every day that Yukio made her presence known to Soleil.

"Why would I disappear?" she asked after a few moments of consideration. Soleil had no great desire for adventure and no intention to wander in the fashion the brothers had, so she had considered it a given that she would be easy to locate on the sands. Suffice it to say that on did not have to look far to locate someone in the Bahari, most individuals who lived here would have pointed out they had seen someone if you happened to ask them.

However, here second question was a touch more puzzling.

Why did she want Soleil to hang out with her?

"What do you need?" she asked finally. She wasn't the strongest of lionesses and probably wouldn't be much use to the Bumani beyond small jobs, but she did have time to spare and didn't mind making herself useful...

Most of those who knew Yukio knew of her tendency to be overreaching and extremely forthcoming with physical displays of affection. It was simply something apart of her character. However that didn't mean she couldn't respect that there were others like Soleil who had a bit more reservation to that sort of greeting than others.

....Even if she often forgot about those reservations in the heat of the moment!

Letting out a short hiss she pulled herself away from the smaller female once she felt the gentle shoving against her. Scooting herself backwards she made an effort to make sure that she was fully out of Soleil's own personal bubble. "Shoot I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to invade your space without warning. I'll try to remember that next time." She promised with a brief but strained smile.

Letting out a small snicker she gave a short wave of her paw. "I didn't mean like actually disappear like some magical vanishing girl! Nor did I mean you weren't exactly here...Well I mean I suppose you could have gotten the travel bug from the twins and gone on your own adventures but that doesn't seem ver- annnd I'm rambling. Right." With a sharp intake of breath she continued on. "I just had trouble finding you, I didn't know you had taken up a interest in fishing and no one I spoke with had seen you." She finally finished her messy explanation.

A woman of graceful words when under pressure Yukio clearly was not.

Soleil got a few confused blinks at her question as Yukio's face slowly squished up in a bewildered squint. "What do I need...? Soleil I don't...that's not..." Letting out a soft grunt she straightened herself up. Determined to make her intentions clear once and for all. "Soleil, I'm not asking you to come assist me in any job. I'm asking you to come hang out and relax with with me because I want to get to know you better and be actual friends with you!"

When Yukio talked she really talked. Soleil could do nothing more than sit and listen as the white lioness rambled; she finally came full circle, but it take her a bit of time, and the striped lioness wasn't entirely confident that Yukio had even taken a proper moment to breathe. Then again Yukio had always been the boisterous type, one full of energy and life to the point that she was a bit of a whirlwind... the perfect companion for the once destructive pair of brothers who had brought chaos to the sands.

...Fortunately, they seemed to have at least tempered their behaviour as they aged, though she wasn't sure how long this would last. Truth be told, Soleil suspected they would get bored and start to act up again, both of them seemed to need to do something or they went mad. Soleil could only assume that Yukio was much the same, she probably didn't know how to function when she didn't have her paws full and 'zen' was probably lost on her.

Soleil elected not to try and explain that concept.

"Do you know how to relax?" She asked carefully, once she was certain that Yukio had finally stopped speaking. "I'm not so sure our definition of the activity is the same," she confessed and shook her head. She resisted the urge to ask 'why' Yukio was so determined to be her friend as logic stated this was simply how Yukio was...the white lioness didn't really do enemies, it wasn't her style!

Yukio had the nasty tendency to talk first and think about what she wanted to say why she was well...talking! Thus she often was found to be going on breathless tirades as she struggled to bring her point across and round things full circle. As evident with her rambling with Soleil this phenomenon only got worse anytime her nerves got the better of her.

Give the girl a task to build a multistory building in a week and she could get it done for you in days and make it look damn good, ask her to try holding a calm and cohesive conversation? Now that was a challenge!

Still Soleil's question did give her reason to pause. At first just to consider how odd of a question it was, and second of all to ponder over a real answer to it. "I do..? I mean were we not relaxing right now?" She finally replied back to the smaller lioness with a confused frown. Relaxing to her was doing anything that you enjoyed! She found working on a piece of art or simply having a conversation with friends just as relaxing as most would consider a lazy day in the sun or taking a long nap.

Hm, perhaps Soleil was correct with them having very different definitions of 'relaxing' but still surely there could be something that the two could share common ground...right?

"Mmm yeah probably, I'll concede to that. But none-the-less I'm sure there's something that we both can agree it enjoyable! And well that's why I wanted to get to know you in the first place is to see your point of view and what you like to do! I really hardly know anything about you besides you're probably the calmest person I know and your name."
She mused with a grin. Without another word Yukio lifted herself back up to all fours, holding out a paw to help Soleil up as well.

"Would you care spending the day with me showing me a little bit of your world?"

Soleil had her reservations about the very boisterous lioness and her desire to spend time in her company. Not that she saw any harm in Yukio, hell, she didn't even dislike her, it was simply that she wasn't entirely certain that they would 'mesh' in that respect. However, credit did need to be given when it came to the white lioness's desire to get to know her and perhaps in time, she might also understand her.

A measure of respect had to be given when it came to trying to put yourself into someone else's position. Yukio might not come to enjoy Soleil's hobbies, but at least she could walk away satisfied that she knew of them and perhaps even why Soleil was so good at them! With this in mind, Soleil seemed to cast her reservations to the side and simply shook her head.

"We do appear to have differing views on what we deem relaxing," she replied with a half smile and shook her head. "I can show you a little of my world, but it isn't very exciting," she pursed her lips and flicked her gaze out towards the islands a little distance away. "Certainly not as busy and full of stories as Huo and Shui's; they seem to attract adventure," she confessed.

"I don't know where they get all the energy from..." she added. It was the truth, they never seemed to ever be tired, but they also seemed to never stop either, it was a strange sight to behold.

Most would have seen the two girls and brushed them off as an impossible clash in personalities, hell Yukio had a sneaking suspicion that Soleil herself had these same reservations with the way she hesitated to agree to the offer. But despite what other's thought there was still some things that the two must have agreed upon at some point! After all they never had a necessarily bad interaction with each other just ones that were cut extremely brief and professional.

Now it was time to change that, good or bad they were going to have some quality one-on-one time together and see what each other truly had to offer.

...She couldn't lie about being just as nervous as she was excited for the endeavor!

"I've had a lifetime of excitement, Soleil. It's been more than I - hell anyone - could ever want in their life, if I wanted to be all go all the time I wouldn't have come back home to the Bahari." She confessed as she lowered her offered paw back down to the ground. "We might share differences on the outside but I'm sure that there are similarities between us that we can both appreciate." And if not? Eh, well at least one of them could have a grand time today!

With a snicker Yukio nodded her head in agreement, a half-hearted grin tugging at the corner of her mouth. "Honestly I think they made some sort of secret pact between an old god or something to be gifted with that much energy." She wiggled her toes to add in a 'spooky' affect with her statement. "They wear even me out sometimes!"

"Maybe they feed on the same thing that Solomon's mother does," Soleil remarked, she knew vaguely of the white deity and her frequent visits. They were often a whirlwind of activity, chitter and then no sooner had she arrived than she was gone again, often leaving a bemused son in her wake. In a way, Yukio had much the same demeanour as that particular lioness, they always seemed to be doing something...and if they weren't talking then there was usually something wrong as well!

Soleil had never had the confidence to greet the lioness, quite frankly, she suspected she might get overwhelmed by her and thus she'd always admired from afar... But Yukio seemed a touch more manageable. Admittedly she was just as cuddly and just as talkative, but she seemed less likely to continue manhandling the striped lioness despite her pleas for release. She knew that Arimathras never meant any harm... but on this occasion she would take Yukio.

Baby steps and all that, maybe she'd work her way up to it.

"Well," she said finally. "If you're certain, then we can always start with something a little more active than what I would normally do?" she offered and tilted her head to the side. "I don't think you'd be able to sit still very well," she confessed. "So we might need to explore my hobbies gradually and ease you in to being in one spot for more than ten seconds."

Interestingly, she did have an idea. She didn't generally do it at this time of day, but she had made it a part of her routine and maybe Yukio would get a kick out of it too...

"Mmmm perrrhapps." She mewled slowly as she plunked down on her rump, using one of her paws to rub the underside of her chin much like a certain set of brothers were often found doing.

"Though I have seen them run from her and ultimate cuddle-fests so it would seem that she's even too much for them!" Granted everyone in the Bahari knew Arimathras was a absolute sweetheart and never meant to cause discomfort, but her rather eccentric and over-the-top ways of expressing friendship could be too much for even those who were use to that sort of treatment! Even Yukio had never had the proper courage to go up and greet the extremely friendly goddess, it might have been on her bucket list but a part of her still chickened out anytime the opportunity had come up.

....Still knowing the twin's limits and weak spots certainly was helpful in the long run!

With a shake of her head Yukio pulled herself out of her thoughts. "It's up to you, Soleil. I certainly don't want to push your limits just for my sake, if you want to do something calm and chill then that's what we can do." She replied with a loose shrug of her shoulders and a lazy smile. "Ah alas, you've found my weakness. Well then.." With a quick pause she popped her lips, curiously raising an eyebrow at whatever activity Soleil seemed to have her heart set on.

"What did you have in mind?"

"You'll see," she sounded non-committal as she motioned with her paw for the white lioness to follow. Now that Yukio had been in the Bahari for a while, Soleil was confident that she wouldn't have issues in the water. However, one could never be too sure and she would have to take things slowly in the beginning. That aside, what she had planned was reasonably quiet, but hopefully active enough so that the poor female didn't lose her sanity in the process of exploring the interests of another individual - Suffice it to say, this was the very least the lioness could do in return!

"If you don't like it you can always stop, it'll be something easy to tap out of, that much I can promise," she smiled gently and with that, she rose to her paws and began to pad towards the shoals. It wouldn't take them long to get there, but based on what she had in mind, it was better to do it sooner rather than later... Just in case the tide came in and they were both left out on the islands somewhat unexpectedly.

...Not that she didn't like the islands, but she doubted her mother would appreciate the sentiment if she vanished without warning, if only for a few hours!
