 Micari bustled around the cooking class room, she had gotten permission to make some cupcakes with a freshling she was going to be like a big sibling too. She was looking forward to this, having lost touch with her twin, Micari felt like she was missing a piece of herself. She wanted to build a large family not lose the first major member of her family. There wasn't anything she could do to get her sibling to talk to her so Micari had no choice but to move on with her life. She put out recipe cards so the freshling could choose which they would be cooking that day.

 Bailey stood at the door, ringing his tiny claws together nervously, he was really looking forward to this! His Social studies teacher had arranged for him to be in a 'big brother' sort of program where he would be able to do his favourite thing in the world... Cook! He was a budding little chocolatier (Willy Wonka stylee). He gently tapped on the door before walking inside, He bowed nervously... Why had he bowed?! "Hi" He waved his tiny claw "Are you Micari?" He had a tiny voice, a little squeaky but sweet.

Micari smiled brightly at the little freshling hybrid that came in and bowed to her how cute. "Yup that's me, and you are Bailey right?" She asked in a friendly tone. "I have some recipes picked out to make our cupcakes together you get to pick which we'll make and then I'll get all the stuff out and together we'll put these cupcakes together, and then I'll do all the oven work since you're not old enough yet to work the stove." Micari smiled brightly and gestured to the raspberry chocolate cupcake recipe card, the lemon zest cups, the star sparkle cupcakes and the rainbow wave cups cakes.

Bailey gave her a great big toothy grin "I'm Bailey! That's me!" He giggled a little, he opened up his little satchel (He carried it with him everywhere) firstly he pulled out a collapsible mini step ladder (Only two steps up, but it made all the difference to him) and his Personalized Apron (He had spent a happy Sunday afternoon glitter gluing his name onto it) he got up onto the little steps to look at the cards, he pushed forward the Raspberry chocolate cupcake recipe card towards Micari "Would you mind helping me tie up my apron please?" He thought for a second "Chocolate is my favorite, but if you'd prefer to do one of the others I would be willing to give those a shot!" He was a very polite and conscientious Freshling!

Micari grinned back she liked the cheerful freshling, she liked cheerful being in general. Micari watched as the very prepared freshling set up their step ladder and personal apron. Wow this little one was ready to cook. Micari smiled brightly and said "You are very professional that is a good habit to start, very good Baliey ." She said in a warm happy tone. Micari smiled "I would be very pleased to help you." She moved behind them and tied their apron carefully. Micari shook her head and then said "Nope I love all sorts of flavors and this is your show, so let's make the chocolate ones then." Micari bustled around the baking class room and pulled out the things they needed to make these cupcakes. Then she read off the recipe one item at a time. So Bailey would be able to practice measuring everything out. Micari watched closely to make sure they didn't put too much or too little in the bowl.

Bailey smiled widely "My first book I ever read was a book about cooking with chocolate, you know you can even put it in a pasta sauce?! Despite the fact it's so sweet!" He reached into his satchel again and pulled out his 'Lucky spoony' (In truth he carried it with him everywhere - just in case!) He washed his hands as Micari got the ingredients together. He measured like a pro, He really wanted to get this right (And impress Micari!) He carefully added each ingredient to his bowl "So what are your favorite things to make? Are you planning on going to college for cooking?" Bailey was so excited to talk to someone who had the same interests as him (Not many other Freshlings were as into cooking as he was - though they were more than willing to eat what he made without helping D smile

Micari smiled "I haven't done many pasta recipes, tell me more." She said brightly, this little freshling was very clever she would never have thought of putting chocolate in pasta. Micari was very impressed that Bailey was so good at this for one so young. "I love making cakes, cookies, muffins, savory foods like roast vegetables with sauces, I'm very good at working with vegetarian recipes since so many in the above and below prefer a meat free diet, but once in a while I dabble in meat recipes as well." She said warmly. "I'm planning to open my own restaurant after I graduated from university."

"Wow, really?" Bailey looked at her with awe and admiration "That is so amazing! What would you call it?" He rolled his sleeves up to his elbows and tucked his mixing bowl under his arm before beating the ingredients with determination and speed "Oh I'd be happy to show you how to do the pasta sauce, if you don't mind doing the cooking part!" He dipped his claw in the mix briefly and licked it off his finger wiping it off on his apron and setting the bowl down on the table "You basically chop all the vegetables you can handle; Tomato, Courgette, Celery, Carrots, Sweetcorn if you fancy a nice crisp bite, then you add a little tomato pureé and some tinned tomatoes sauté for a bit then add some really finely chopped dark chocolate, salt and pepper and It is beautiful! And you do it with the pasta that looks like little shells and the chunks of veg get mixed into the pasta and it is sooo tasty!" All the while he was talking his hands moved with him, he was always talking with his hands, he got really animated about his interests!

Micari thought about it and then said "I'm not sure yet, but I'll figure it out sooner or later." She said in a warm tone watching Baliey do most of the work on the cupcakes, she knew she had to help with the oven but otherwise, Bailey seemed to be a very competent little freshling. She pre heated the oven so it was be warmed up once they had the cupcakes ready to go into the oven. Micari smiled "I would love to make that with you Baliey." Micari said honestly she loved learning new recipes. She listened to how to make the pasta he described and watched as he made the batter. She prepped the pan and helped Bailey to put the batter into the cupcake pan spaces with their little pink and red cupcake liners. "Alright time to put them in the oven and set the timer." Micari said in an excited tone. Next was making the icing from scratch.

Bailey thought for a second "Your name makes me think of the word Miraculous, maybe you can get that in there somewhere?" He smiled at her, And stepped down from his little ladder, took the bowl and spoon over to the sink, came back for his stool and washed up the things he had used. "Thank you for doing this Micari... It's so nice having someone to talk baking with..." He paused and smiled again "Maybe one day I'll be washing dishes at your restaurant!" he giggled a little. "Icing next? I'm not great with icing... it's something I need to practice.... Do you have any tricks to getting it right?" He was hoping she had some up her sleeve!
