Oran could practically dance in her seat. Not only were they getting to do cakes but they got to do spooky cakes. It was like Christmas came early. Okay so considering it was a spooky cake maybe Halloween was a more accurate. It did worry her whe the teacher said they needed a partner. After all she never really did well in partnerships before. The other person always seemed to flake and she did most of the work.

However spooky cakes! How cool was that. She already had so many ideas. There was the caldron cake, and the haunted house. You could do a graveyard. Plus there where enoug beloved Halloween shows or movies out there that people loved and the show had great aesthetics.

No. No, calm deep breaths. Find a partner first. She could geek out later. Oh and she needed to call Keres to tell them to stop by the classroom. Since she lived off dorm she would have to stay late and it was a rule that Keres did not go home alone if they could help it. Her nibling hated glasses, was nearly blind and had a haunting problem so either Oberon or Oran herself tried to pick them up.

Ahem... back to the matter at hand. Oran looked around the classroom and saw people where already pairing up. However there was a baphomet, looking a bit lost. If she recalled correctly from class, they seemed to like baking. Which meant they were likely to hold their own weight in a partner assignment.

" hello. I'm Oran. You have a partner yet?" She asked cheerfully.

"No need to worry, I don't think I could ever be that forward as to swoop in like that. Besides if that was my intent swooping in on you in baking class isn't the most romantic you know." Oran lightly teased but non the less let the poor Baphomet calm down. He seemed the shy type, although she hadn't talked to him long enough to make assumptions.

"However romance aside, I was asking about class. Would you like to pair up for class? Today seems like it will be pretty fun. There are so many different ideas to do for a spooky cake. " Oran spoke up after a while, careful to keep her enthusiasm down. She could be as cheerful and excited as the next person but her brother often said some times that it could be a bit too much for people.

"They sound like a very lucky person." Oran replied. There was a warmth emitting from her classmate as he talked about his significant other. " however I totally share those sentiments. I think in most people it takes a lot of courage to ask some one out, and I always hate dashing all that courage they gathered. Of course some times you just can't say yes. Hmm you know I hadn't thought about it that way, that might be pretty cute but I think for me that's a more dating moment than showing my interest moment."

Switching back to baking she though about Wren's ideas. Gravestones. Gravestones where definitely a must. They also needed some spooky trees and make some ghosts and bats.

" it's okay talking is over rated. Well it is if you ask my brother and nibling. Hmm as for the batter, I would go with white batter, but maybe add food coloring to make it brown. We're going to be doing a lot of stuff on top and I always find that white batter cuts the sweetest some times. However batter should be brown so that if some pokes through the icing and decorating it helps with the whole dirt illusion. Oh what if we combined things. Maybe do a two tier cake. We could do the bottom sort of like a graveyard setting with the tombstones and other things and maybe do a haunted house or something to that effect for the top." Oran suggested and then stopped before putting her hands behind her back and rocking back on her feet, " sorry I just think spooky baking is the best. I get told a lot sometimes I just get too into it"

" oh dear I realized I spaced out and never gave you my name. I am Oran. It's a pleasure to meet you. Now I figure i can sketch the designs down really quick and then take over the mixing and stirring of the batter while you pen down some of your ideas?" Oran suggested.
Since they only had a certain amount of time, they needed to nail down their vision pretty fast. As Wren gathered the materials, Oran was giving quIck sketches on what they could do. It would be best if they built all the decorations while the batter was cooking into the layers they needed. They were the best sketches but they were clear enough that Wren could decipher them.

" okay done? Want to switch to add things or draw your own vision?" Oran asked.

"well I always find it helps to have a plan. After all you can go faster when you know exactly what you want to do, and it leaves time for mistakes" Oran pointed out. Hmm they only wanted to do two layers so Three should be the basis for the cake. Wren didn't want wires but that was easy because nezubats in trees.
"How about we combine all three. We can have the gates and ghosts for the bottom layer. Keep even the bones and the pumpkins. Then the top layer can be like the graveyard with the tombstones and maybe scary trees with bats, and then the top we can put the moon with the haunted house as sort of a topper? Oran said quickly sketching out the idea as she talked. "Don't be afraid to also pitch in things. I totally want you to help with the design too."
After that the work was very tedious but the two worked together to create a pretty awesome spooky cake. Oran knew it wasn't yet professional level but for the amount of time they had She was pretty proud of it.
