Sweat dampened hair was pushed from her face, the page standing up and eyeing the pile of ash. She'd just finished a youma off and it had been a rather good fight, it had been quick in movement and rather strong as well. The smile on her face was both satisfied and pleased, she liked a challenge, but now she sorta wanted to go home and take a long cool bath. It was warm out tonight, too warm, and after that sort of fight she really was sweating and hot.
Wiping her sweaty hands on her dress the page took the time to look around the park she was in. It was a small little local park, really small, with some trees, two or three benches, and a jungle gym and swing seat with two slides. It really wasn't much but it was enough for those who lived in the surrounding homes.
Running her fingers through her hair, ruffling and messing up the damp strands, Gorner moved to leave and head home - she needed to cool off.

Lacedaemon did not patrol for the sake of saving lives. He never had. To him, lives were expendable, and they were useful up until they no longer served their purposes. Tugging on one of his gloves, the man ignored the fluttering energies of chaos and order nearby. Fleeting things, power below his own, so to what purpose was their in stepping in? If the senshi lived, he could go and 'aid' them. If the youma lived well. Live and let live. It was just a short while later as he neared the park that the force of chaos was snuffed out like a candle, and the small power signature flickered to inform those near that justice and good and all those tired and cliche sayings of order had prevailed this night. Huffing at the fact, he realized that by now, they must have sensed him, and he would be possibly seen as callous to just turn and walk away without even seeing to assure of his peer's well being. The click of steel plated footwear echoed on the cement and he briskly walked to the power, wanting to end it early. Or rather had, until he noticed the colors and crest on the woman. "My, had I know one of my own was the one facing danger I would have taken to arrive sooner." His saccharine smile was hidden in his eyes, the fact he was meeting yet another Castor knight like himself was a most fortuitous thing indeed. "Do you fair well piccola?"

She hadn't exactly been focused on the other signatures around her, she didn't have a ride range anyway, but with the youma dead she could soon feel something much stronger and it seemed to be headed her way. It seemed she wouldn't be heading home for that bath she'd planned, at least not just yet. Someone was approaching and soon enough she found out who, or at least sort of.
They were a knight, that she could feel, but she didn't know of what planet till she turned to face them. Castor...the same as her. They also weren't native to here...not with that accent.
"I'm fine. And you?" She may not know the word he'd used but she figured it meant something similar to darling, she really couldn't tell though. "And I wouldn't say that was danger. Annoying - without a doubt...dangerous...not so much. But I'm glad to know I'd have had help if you'd known...and had I been so in need." Help was nice, she wasn't one to turn it down. Being as prone to diving into trouble, without realizing it was trouble often times, a little help was appreciated when and where it came.
"You don't mind me asking who you are - I mean I need something to call you. I'm Gorner."

Lacedaemon’s smile broadened at her words. “I fare well enough. But dear Gorner, you should be wary, there is always something dangerous lurking at night. It is the time when all truly nefarious things go stalking for prey.” He bowed to her, a long arm sweeping gesture before rising closing the distance between them in a few strides. “Lacedaemon. It is a pleasure I assure you.” His eyes focused on her face and then flickered to where he’d felt the youma earlier. “I am correct in my assumption that you are one of the more combative of our ah-“ He searched for the correct word. “Pardon, I may be fluent in English but the word I seek no longer has an equivalent. What once was upon the world we served is no longer and the Knights are not the same. The closest I would call us is hoplites, but that fails to really define the bond shared. It is a curious thing but ultimately irrelevant I suppose.” His hand waved in the air, dismissing the topic. “You are combative are you not? Not like myself then a more-“ His lifted his staff, “diplomat as it were. Tell me, do you know of many others like us? Knights of Castor? Or are knights simply more plentiful in general here?” He was curious. Already, he was encountering more than his fair share of his own. And perhaps, those he might find their prince lacking as he did.

That was a fair enough comment, at least in her opinion. The Negaverse and others did operate at night, though she was certain they did some things during the day. They were normal people though and had normal lives to manage during the daylight hours, so yeah...night was the more dangerous time and there were a lot of them and youma. Did youma even come out during the day?
"A pleasure as well."
So she was right, not from here. Not that it bothered her in the slightest, but it was nice to know. It was good that he was fluent in English, as her language skills were dismal. She'd tried in school to learn, like everyone else, but she just hadn't had the ability to really sit still and focus on it and that was in class - home was worse. She rather be out all day doing various things, plus there had been sports in high school and middle school. Had she been able to she would have thrown herself into everything the school had offered.
"No...I don't think there is a word to describe us properly. Though I also don't know the term hoplite. But I'll accept that it fits the best." Because why not?
"Yeah...I'm not much for talking...never have been. I suppose it's good there are people like you then - those who can...smooth things over where people like me make a mess." Smiling a bit at this. "Mmm, no. I've not met any other Castor knights. I know there are others, I've heard it. But I don't know them. I've only met the prince once. Have you met any others since arriving?" Was he looking to make connections and fit in? A team of sorts?

“Hoplite was a term for infantry men in Greek armies. They were the common foot solider and came from all walks of life, but, we are more than that.” He neared her, reaching out once close enough to touch her arm. “We are knights, of an order that swore to aid others and take up their banners. Yet there is a bond between us, deeper than blood, than land of birth.” Lacedaemon lifted his staff waving it in the air above him, a small shimmer of cool air left in it’s wake. He always had enjoyed a bit of theatrics to go with his narratives. “Do you ever feel it? Inside you? That calling to another, to a purpose higher than simple fighting? It is our bond I like to think. That which binds us knights as one. A bond that runs even deeper between knights of like royals.” He smiled as best he could. Charming and Italian, he stepped away from her. No sense in trying too hard now was there? Plus he hardly wanted to overwhelm her with his antics. Not yet at any rate. “Hoplite is like that we are soldiers, of like kin and kind that face an enemy, but we are so much more than that dear Gorner. As for others- I knew they exist, but alas, in the land I rose to my glory, there were no others of my crest. The prince-“ He sucked in a breath, holding back a rush of loathing. “-I knew the prince roamed for a time. Yet I never sought him out. He was a target and any seen with him typically did not live very long. My hope is that here is different. There are so many more here. So many possibilities.” Lacedaemon wistfully looked behind them. They were well and truly alone, no other powers lingered near the duo. “ It is a lonesome existence when you are the only one of your kind, your crest. Europe is unwelcoming of those not touched by Chaos.” Unless of course, like him, you bartered and traded in blood and power. But, that was anywhere really. He had just found a more magical form of such business.

Ahh, so that's what the word was. She had figured it was something of a knight but hadn't an idea what sort of knight, some holy sort of knight or something else. History had certainly not been her subject in school, far from it in fact. "Yeah, I'd say even now we are more than that. I don't think there is a term fitting for us really." At least not a term she could think of, not that was saying much really. But she really couldn't think of any, didn't knights have an order and serve a king while not really having anything like they did - a wonder? Not that she had ever been to hers, something she should perhaps rectify? Maybe it wouldn't be boring, like she thought it would be.
As the older continued to talk, his hand on her arm, she found herself nodding along slowly. "I don't feel it but we are bound - I know that. A bond of a shared homeworld...something before here. Maybe I don't feel it, like you do, because I've not been to my wonder and seen it. I haven't seen the planet either." Of course if she hadn't seen her wonder she hadn't seen Castor, the place not the person. She wouldn't mind meeting other Castor knights, like herself, like this one...it was special in a way...different than she figured meeting another knight would be. They shared a certain look and a homeworld - part of a title.
Listening to him, as he spoke about how dangerous Europe sounded, she wondered how anyone survived there...were there others there and how many? Surely there were others who were in hiding. "How did you survive? It must have been dangerous...to be so alone and with the enemy all around. To power up must have been dangerous - you'd be like a beacon calling to them. You'd have to have fought many of them in order to just survive..." Which is why he was a knight - he'd earned it. Reaching out to lay a hand on his arm lightly. "To do that alone...the risk...and to have no one to back you up in a fight. That is a lot for anyone." She wouldn't have thought of someone his age being able to handle such a threat on their own and yet it seemed he had - that was good.
"Did you meet any others there? Any other knights or senshi?" She concern in her voice, the worry, it was easy to pick up on. If there were others there should be a way to get them here - to help them. Europe did not sound safe for them, not that here was much better, at least here numbers would be on their side.
"Are you planning to stay here? I mean the Prince is here...at least he was...I met him here. And there are other knights and senshi. it'd be safer here and you won't be alone - the only one of your crest." Obviously, seeing as she was standing right here.

Lacedaemon looked at the younger castor knight and smiled. It was genuine and almost warm. “You should go. It is.. nice. Castor is perhaps colder than most places, but it is lovely. Much like Iceland. It can be brutal, but it holds a certain beauty that is it’s own. It is a safe place.” He might loath the royal, but the world was lovely. Perfect for a quick esc ape from the tedium that was life on earth. “As for the opposite, Europe? It is cruel. You must be fierce and cunning. The weak are killed quickly once found, and the threat of chaos is unnaturally high. Not because there are so many, but because there are so few knights, and fewer senshi. No cats, almost none of true knight rank- The agents there have control and use it to their advantage. I survived by being smarter than my foes.” For selling out his allies, and for offering agents of chaos more than a quick starseed. Money could buy anything, even one’s life. Ice blue eyes looked down at the page, and Lacedaemon heard her worry, her uncertainty. “You do not allow fear to control you. Strength comes in many form, but without the intelligence to support it, you might as well not bother. I find it better here. It is easier to go about, and to be able to simply be near my fellow knights as we are right now-“ He winked at her, “now that is a true pleasure.” “I plan to stay for a time, I did so wish to meet our prince, but I might stay longer. I had not anticipated meeting other castor knights. Nor, so many in general. A change in scenery would be welcome… my only concern is if the other knights and senshi here would welcome me. I am a bit of an outsider as it were.” He wondered if he could get this one to perhaps enter into a vow with him, to offer succor. Having a few knights and senshi oath bound could hardly hurt. Sleet Tempest Snape Up to you if you want to have him use his PI for 'the angst' or whatnot!

"Perhaps I will then." If it was that nice, though knowing it was cold she figured she'd need to bring things to layer over her uniform. It was good to know ahead of time, though she had sort of had the feeling it would be cold up there. Maybe she could find something interesting to do up there as well, make it more than just a trip to see something pretty. She'd think on it more, when she wasn't talking to someone as she was now.
It didn't sound like Europe was a good place for any senshi or knight, it sounded like they should find a way to get whatever survivors were there out of there. If Europe wasn't safe where was? Was it just here that was safe? She hadn't ever thought of outside of Destiny City because this was the here and now, what she was dealing with, but really...she had never seen anything on the news about this sort of thing happening else where...so had it already happened? She couldn't remember it ever having been on the news...so was everywhere else safe? Was it just hidden, since apparently things had and maybe were to a much lesser extent now happening in Europe, it was something she should find out about if she could. She didn't know how but it was something she'd never have thought about and now that the thought was there...well it was there, at least till she got busy with other things.
"I'm glad you are free here to be around other knights, as we are now, and without the struggle to survive you must have in Europe. It's a shame others can't come here and be safe." That others had to face what he had mentioned, and perhaps more, that they couldn't talk to other knights as freely as they were now.
Smiling up at the other, a hand moving through her snowy white hair. "You have a place to stay - I hope? I mean a hotel I suppose....that has to be expensive though..." Shaking her head, smile still in place. She had wondered...but she really didn't have much room in her appartment and she doubted the offer was a good one. Though it was likely to be better than the hotel she figured he was staying in - cheaper too. He was a fellow knight as well...
"I don't think people would turn you away. You're a knight and that's what matters. I can't see anyone turning you away...though I'm sure there are some - not everyone is the same after all. As for the Prince...well I don't know about him....I don't have my ring so I can't contact him..."
