 Selkie lightly tapped his fingers on the table. This had to be the worst idea in the history of bad ideas. Okay so it wasn't that bad, but seriously. It was obviously that Selkie and the Hallowed hybrid on the other side of the table didn't get along. Why did he have to suffer through spending more time with them. It had all happened sometime last week. Selkie had been late getting home and had come across... what had the teacher said there name was? oh yeah Selkie had run across Shock bullying some one. So he just couldn't help himself and intervened just in time for the teachers to catch them. Their big solution to the problem was Selkie had to come in and spend time with Shock every recess for the next couple of days... like he said it was a horrid idea. "What in the world where they thinking?" He muttered out loud.

 Shock was a mess he was growling and grumpy, he wanted to be free, free to do what he wanted, free to run in the woods. Some freshling annoyed him and he picked on them, then this freshling had to ride in on their white horse to save them. Getting them both locked in this cage. Well it wasn't really a cage it was a room, but that didn't change the fact that Shock hated it, and he didn't like the hero either. He growled at the stupid hero. Shock got up knocking his chair to the ground and stalked around the room. "This is all your fault I didn't hurt the annoying freshling you should have stayed out of it, then I wouldn't be trapped!!" Shock flashed his fangs at the hero. He knew they would think him a monster, no one befriended Shock, he was a beast, just as tales said his other parent was. Shock heard the whispers that the stone his mother had gotten held magic from the beast. So clearly Shock belonged in the woods since he didn't fit in this stupid school system. Just because he could count didn't mean he should be here learning, growl.

Selkie barely kept from rollling his eyes. What in the nine had the teachers been thinking. This was never going to work. Selkie was pissed and this shock person seemed to be just as angry. However there wasn't much about their situation they could do. "at the time I didn't know that. The freshling just looked scared and your actions were coming across as bullying. I am not a mind reader and enough people walk by when bullying is happening that I am sick of it. Hell you get bullied and I would step in for you too." Selkie replied staying in their seat. He had planned on getting his ointment during recess. He didn't know he was going to be ambushed. So the lack of moisture was starting to make him itchy. " look what happened happened and I am sorry for restricting your freedom"

Shock was about to growl and rave again when the freshling said that they would defend Shock too, Shock plopped down on the floor and said: "Why would you help a beat like me??" Shock narrowed his eyes, he was a beast clearly couldn't the hero see he was supposed to fight Shock not say that they would save them too if someone was being mean. Shock sighed "It's not your fault school, in general, makes me feel itchy, does school make you itchy?" Shock asked looking at the freshling wiggling about like that were itchy. Shock didn't know anything about Selkie's race.

Selkie stopped what ever he was going to say next and started to stare at shock. What... what? The anger that had been festering in him since they were assigned the room swirled into something else. " that is....who in the Nine told you that you were a beast? You are hardly a beast. You got upset that I thought you were going to hurt that kid. You can talk, sure school makes you itchy but school makes pretty much everyone itchy. We would all like to just spend the day playing or goofing off. You are a kid just like me. Sure you have some extra parts but you are a hallowed. Hardly a beast. So yes if some one was picking on you, I would step in." What a thing to convince a kid of? Did people have no shame. Selkie made a face and downed more of his water bottle. " however yes, school can make me itchy but that's because I am a nixie. We need water or ointments. I just forgot to put mine on today." Selkie admitted.

Shock blinked and blinked "Are you blind?? Have you looked at me? I'm not exactly scholar material my mommy studies the stars, I'm Shock and my sibling is Scare what else can we be we are hallows and other freshlings have said I'm a beast and I heard seniors whisper my other parent is a forest monster, that's what I am too. " Shock tilted his head listening to Selkie, they had stuff in common?? Shock wasn't all alone?? What the heck was with this concept it didn't make much sense at all to Shock. "So you're telling me that not liking school is normal??" Shock rubbbed his double set of eyes he put up a very tough front but some of the things others said about him hurt his feelings. "Well, maybe we should try to get out of here soon so you can get some." Shock suggested.

"...that is the stupidest thing ever I swear. I will say it again. You are a normal kid, maybe a bit grumpy but normal. People are mean and cruel. They try to villanize things they can't understand. I will admit you do t have the friendliest face but how is that any different from some of the other races out there. Maybe your other parent is a bit feral, and lives in the forest." Selkie started. " however I wonder if they are that way because no one tried to understand them. I want to study the supernatural, I do try to study the supernatural." After all if people kept telling you that you were a beast, then you started to believe them. Selkie shook his head. "Yep completely normal. I mean sure some people like school, and it's good to go to learn things but it's not that strange to want to escape as soon as possible." Selkie replied. He'd repeat it as many times as he needed. Sure there were some people who grew up to be evil. To be beasts. " you know my family always said. The true beasts where the ones that walked among us. They looked just like us, like everyone else and it lowered our guard enough for them to come in an kill us. They enjoyed killing us. You don't strike me like that at all. Sure yeah you obviously need some people skills, why would we be here if we could both people. However that's all I'll say at the moment. As for the itching I'll be okay. If it gets really bad I can always just dump the water bottles on my head. My ointment is in the classroom so I'll just ask for a bathroom break during my next class"

Shock nodded as he listened to Selkie it made him question his plan to quit school as soon as possible and run off to live in the forest alone. "You don't think I am a monster who should live in the woods all by myself??" Shock jumped up "Some day I'm gonna find them!! Then they will see that someone understands them!!" Shock said in a confident voice, he wanted to knock his other parent. Scare was blue like their mom, but Shock was purple and red and didn't look much like their mom at all. Shock smiled at Selkie "Thank you a really nice nixie." Shock got up and went towards the door. "Maybe if we knock and tell them we made up they'll let us out? I still don't like being cooped up in this room." Shock said with a frown. "So the real monsters can look pretty huh?"

Ha success. Selkie almost wanted to do a fist pump if he didnt think it was probably very inappropriate. However at least Shock believed him know and was off that way of thinking. Sure people would probably still be mean, they always were but now they knew that not everyone would feel or see it that way. "Nope, I think you should live where ever you want to because that's what you want to do, not what some one says because they're being ignorant or mean." Selkie started. When shock jumped up, Selkie lost the battle with his face and ended up smiling. "See that is the spirit, and it was no problem. My name if you want it is Selkie by the way. as for letting us out it might work? I'm sure they'll bring us back here tomorrow to make sure we really did make up but it never hurts to try to escape now. As for the real monsters. Yeah the most scary, you never see coming. Some of them even act all nice and charming."

Shock smiled a little, he wasn't very confident in smiling since he didn't smile much and it might have looked more like a smirk than a smile, but at least it tried. Shock nodded "Yea your right I don't let others or well I shouldn't let others tell me how to live." He sighed "You know what I mean." Shock rubbed the back of his head he couldn't remember if he had told Selkie his name likely not. "I'm Shock if I forgot to tell you that, yeah I'll take your take so to speak since you're not a pain in the butt anymore." He said sticking his tongue out at the hero. Perhaps a hero in a different way, without Selkie Shock would have quit school and run away as soon as he could. Shock shivered at the thought of a pretty charming killer that was really scary. He knocked on the door and waited for the caretaker to come and let them out. "I hope they believe us I don't want to be trapped in another box tomorrow." Shock said with a growl and a frown.
