Archimedes was still coming to terms with everything, he was able to open up a little more since meeting Avalon but dealing with annoying juniors just really why did he have to do that again? Oh yeah, the school said so, so meeting with Avalon to talk to them and feel better was a really good idea. He was used to doing projects by himself, he wasn't used to having to talk to another junior while he did the work. It had him stresses out and he really wanted to talk to someone who understood how that made him feel and that wasn't Calypso or his adopted family. Arch hadn't felt ok again till Avalon cracked his shield and asked the questions that got to the heart of why Arch had built walls to protect himself.

It was a challenge living so close to the school and the city, but Avalon had people he cared about, he had a family. He needed to stay close so he could watch his sons grow up, and so he could be there for Ten. But it wasn't just that family he was worried about. Avalon had met a young imp, and enjoyed spending time with him. He seemed to need someone to talk to, and Avalon was more then happy to be there for him. The hybrid had done his best to make himself available. He was near the school during the daytime, visiting his sons when they wanted to see him, and visiting Archimedes when the junior was looking for him. Avalon was just off campus, watching from the sidelines, when he thought he saw a familiar blue imp. "Hello Arch."

Archimedes had been holding back his feelings since Amie had asked him about his feelings not allowing himself to cry, but as soon as he saw Avalon the damn broken and tears rolled down his cheek. Arch had built so many walls he didn't know that his heart was so broken by his parents leaving, for the most part, he felt angry. For some reason today it was only pain, Arch wanted to move out of the city and never look back, never look at anything that reminded him of the parents that turned their back on him and the sibling they took with them, that was not him. Why did they leave Arch behind was he not as good as his other sibling?? Arch wiped the tears from his eyes and cleared his throat. "I'm such a weakly, she didn't know that bringing up imp families would be a hot point for me, but I got so mad at Amie that I left class early. She doesn't know much of anything about imp history." Archimedes said with a sigh.

Avalon's smile softened when he saw the imp start to tear up. It was hard not to rush to him to try and hug and comfort him. Above all, Avalon felt very strong paternal instincts. If a child was crying, he wanted to hug and soothe them. Avalon instead held his arms open to Arch, allowing him to come in for a hug if he so chose. "You are not weak for having emotions." Avalon said softly. Archimedes had kept his feelings bottled up for so long that having unexpected outbursts like this was... well, expected. "I admit, I am many things, but an imp, I am not. I do not understand fully about imp families either." He said honestly. "I am sure that Amie didn't mean any harm though. What were you talking about in class, that made it come up?" He waved his staff out to the side, gesturing that they could go find somewhere to walk or sit and talk.

Archimedes really cared about Avalon, he didn't push Arch past the emotional boundaries that Arch could handle and that had done a lot to start healing the emotional scars Arch had. Calypso was great as a sister but she was too forward for what Arch needed. arch went into Avalon's arms and let them hold him. Arch sighed and listened to what Avalon said as he just cried letting out his pain in quiet tears. Archimedes sighed and said softly. "Family is so important to my people, I I just don't understand why Calypso and I were left behind why did they take my other sibling but leave Calie and I behind are we defective?" Arch asked softly the question that had been haunting him since he was a freshling. Arch nodded and said, "I have to find them and apologize don't I?" Arch asked softly.

Avalon folded his arms around Arch and held him, stroking his hair gently as the boy vented his griefs and worries. "I wish I could answer that for you." He murmured softly, placing a kiss to the top of the imp's head. "But you are not defective." He thought about how Ten reacted to their children. "...Sometimes... people just aren't ready to be parents, and they panic. They do what they think is best at the time, for the child, for themselves... I hope I'm wrong about this, but perhaps... your parents just weren't ready for three." Avalon was quiet for a few moments while he just let Arch cry and hold him. His hand shifted from smoothing Arch's hair to gently rubbing his back. "You are a wonderful young man, and your sister sounds like an amazing person too. I am honored to have met you." And he meant it. He felt grateful that he'd met the young imp. When Arch asked if he had to apologize, Avalon smiled. "It might be nice if you did. It sounds like they didn't know how... hard that topic was. But maybe an apology and a brief explanation would help."

Arch cried he would likely never know why his parents did what they did, but that was their loss, he had to believe that Avalon wasn't even Arch's blood, but here he was holding Archimedes and being more of a parent than Arch had ever known. arch let out a deep breath as he calmed down and listened to Avalon. Perhaps Avalon was right, but it didn't make the pain less, if they weren't ready they shouldn't have imbued. Arch smiled a little ignoring they couldn't handle three part it was just too painful. Archimedes' eyes widened "Talk to someone besides you about my parents Avalon I don't think I'm ready, how can I explain that level of pain to a near stranger. And yes I know you were a stranger when we met but that's different your like a parent to me now I feel like I can trust you with anything." Archimedes babbled in his panic.

"You don't have to tell them... much. But if you let them know that family is a sensitive topic, they might understand." He smiled at Arch. "And I wasn't a stranger, thank you. I was a friend waiting to happen." His tone was soft and teasing. When Archimedes said he felt that he could trust Avalon with anything, the hybrid just about melted. He pulled the younger imp in for another hug. "I... would like to think you can trust me with anything..." He was actually very... very glad. "I'm honored that you think so highly of me too... You are a wonderful young man." He couldn't quite bring himself to say that he hoped to have a child like Arch some day. At the same time, he also thought of the imp as his own. "...Family does not have to be blood related."

Arch was still a little worried not much could still mean opening up a little and that wasn't easy for Arch. Archimedes smiled at Avalon's next comment he liked that like Archimedes and Avalon were meant to be together. Arch snuggled into Avalon's hug the affection he had been missing since his parents had left him and his sister behind. Somehow better here in Avalon's arms. Arch let out a sigh as he relaxed into Avalon's hug. Archimedes looked up at Avalon and asked: "What do you mean??" Arch wasn't going to guess that Avalon was asking him to be part of his family. Archimedes wouldn't get his hopes up that he would like he was part of a real family again. The beings that took Arch and Calypso in after their parents left were great but they didn't feel like a family to him.

Avalon was quite happy to have Arch around. He loved being around the imp as much as he loved being around his own boys. But when the smaller imp looked up and asked for him to elaborate, Avalon blushed a little, his glowing eyes sliding to the side as he avoided Archimedes' gaze. "Well..." This was a little embarrassing. "...I don't want you to... feel this is weird, but I do care about you, as if you were one of my own. We may not be related by blood or magic, but... I think of you as much my family as I do Sabera or Felix." Was that weird? He didn't want it to be weird. "I... I'm not saying that I'm trying to make myself your family or anything. But... I mean, I think of us as family..." He wouldn't be so pretentious as to think that he could ever replace Arch's parents, and he'd never met his sister, whom the imp seemed very fond of, and perhaps a little protective of.

Archimedes waited for the panic to fill him at the idea of truely accepting a new family, letting others into his heart again, it terrified him to think what he would do if something happened to Avalon. Arch had been so distant from everyone till Avalon entered his life and started to shine a little light on his life again. "I would be proud to be one of your sons Avalon, my only fear is I don't think my heart would ever recover if I lost you." Avalon said quietly, he didn't think Avalon would ever leave him behind but what if the infected returned and tried to kill Avalon?? Arch felt there was a difference in his a difference in his heart between the parents that choose to walk away from Arch and Calie and how Avalon treated him.

Avalon smiled, hugging Archimedes just a little tighter. "I understand." He smiled, gently nuzzling his hair. "You are a fine son." He was very proud of Arch. He knew it wasn't easy for the imp, he could tell how hard it was to open up, to trust. The fact that Arch was even willing to try spoke volumes about him. "I wish I could promise that you will never lose me, but no one knows what the future holds... But I can promise that you won't be rid of me easily... Family is very important to me, and... You are family." Arch wasn't 'like' family. The hybrid thought of the young man as one of his own, even though they hadn't even known each other all that long.
