Physical Description: Tall and slim, Zahneel is dark-complected with dark brownish-black hair that she wears with one side shaved and the remainder pulled to one side in a loose ponytail. Her face and shoulders are heavily freckled. She had golden amber eyes and a usually somber expression on her face. Her smiles are reserved mostly for her mate and her dragon.
Personality: Zahneel is an exceptionally quiet person who tends to be very respectful and deferential of authority figures. She is also incredibly shy and has never made friends very easily. Those she has made have either been much shyer than she or in the position of needing protection. Which Zahneel is happy to provide. Which is not to say that Zahneel is forever SRS BIZNIS. She simply prefers to keep to herself. Besides, who wants to watch someone jealously cling to the few friends they've managed to make? No one, that's who.

History: Zahneel was born and raised within the Healer Hall. Both of her parents were loving, if slightly distant and always made sure that at least one of them was always around for her during her formative years. Unfortunately, when she was ten, both of her parents succumbed to illness, leaving their only daughter an orphan. In spite of her loss, Zahneel knew she wanted to be a Healer as well and the Hall simply moved her to the apprentice dormitories as a matter of expediency.
When she was thirteen, Zahneel knew she wanted to specialize in healing contagious diseases, much like the one that took her parents. After stating this wish to her Masters, Zahneel was often brought along as an assistant while her Masters made their rounds with the Harper and Healer halls. In this way, she was introduced to an apprentice Harper named Elyza who had been stricken blind at a very young age and remained delicate due to the disease that had ravaged her. The two became good friends, in spite of Elyza's parents' disapproval and Zahneel took it upon herself to protect the other girl as well as to teach her about the outside world. Often acting as Elyza's eyes, Zahneel continued her studies, simply assuming that she'd attain her Mastery one day and then spend the rest of her life in the Hall, helping to treat those who came for help.
When Zahneel walked the tables at eighteen, she learned that Elyza's parents planned to remove their prodigiously talented daughter from the Harper Hall, intent on using her skill and talents to enhance their own status. Desperate to not lose the girl she'd come to love and admire, Zahneel begged her Masters to help her protect the Harper girl. Knowing her feelings as well as Elyza's own history with disease, the Masters decreed that she could not be removed from the Hall for at least two Turns. Figuring that this would not only give Elyza time to come of age but attain her own Mastery, Zahneel relaxed.
When the dragons from Western came on Search, Zahneel thought nothing of it, silently wishing luck to whomever the dragons chose. And then the dragons selected her. Panicking, Zahneel was reassured that Elyza would be protected by her Masters. And before the dragons could take her away, Zahneel promised the other girl that she would send frequent messages either by fire-lizard or visiting dragonrider. A month or so later, she sent word to Elyza that she'd Impressed brown Sith. Along with that message was a promise that the moment she and Sith graduated weyrling training and were allowed to fly, she would return and bring Elyza back to the Weyr where they wouldn't be separated again.
Zahneel and Sith kept that promise, leaving for Harper Hall the second they were informed that they were no longer weyrlings. Ignoring the time differences, the pair appeared in the Harper Hall court and Zahneel raced in to pack for Elyza and to lead the sleepy girl to where Sith waited. And with that, Zahneel spirited Elyza to Western and installed her in her own weyr.
When Thread returned, Zahneel and Sith took their place within the wings to fight. Both are very careful to not scare Elyza and even more careful to not get badly scored.
Other: Elyza is Yushika's and she okayed me including her in Zahneel's history. Both are NMA ports. ♥

Physical Description: Large and strong, Sith is one of the bigger browns in the Weyr and takes great delight in this fact. Whether on the ground or in the air, Sith moves with a studied and practiced grace so that his bulk doesn't cause any harm.
Personality: Gregarious and ebullient, Sith is as friendly and talkative as Zahneel is quiet and distant. He simply adores gossip and is more than happy to relax with a fair of firelizards in the hopes of not only skritches, but stories of things they've seen. However, in spite of his flightly exterior, Sith possesses a deep rooted sense of compassion and justice. His loyalty is as unwavering as Zahneel's and his devotion to his rider and her mate is touching to behold.
In fact, he will often speak to Elyza with no promptings from his rider, sometimes projecting images into her mind when words escape him.

Super close to being approved, but there's one tiny issue...
In EoP we have a rule where walking the tables to Journeymen happens at 20 Turns, if not older, standard. I have allowed folks to take up Journeymenship at 19 and 18 Turns, to allow a little flexibility, but I don't go younger than that.
I know Menolly, in the books, walked hte table at like 16 but she was also kind of an anomaly, a prodigy, and the special shiny of that trilogy. gaia_star
I will confess to being extra-strict on Healers, because we're talking individuals who have to put other peoples lives in their hands and I don't see the craft doing that liberally. While she might specialize in infectious disease, she still needs to know how to care and treat others who come to her for aid.
Given she's only 18 turns now, and lost a turn's study (if not more) while at the Weyr and going through Weyrling training, and now having to fight Thread... I don't know if she'd actually have obtained it. xD You could mention she still tried to study it during what free time she had? And make it an IC goal for her to obtain it as a rider? Or her age might need to be bumped up a hair if you'd like her to have been Journeyman before Searched. :3
