Since accepting the position offered to him by Quinn’s father, something he would always be grateful for, Seung had quite his old job and now drifted about the office here in Destiny City. They didn’t have a location, yet, in Seoul though he had been suggesting Gangnam as an area to open up in, it was home to a lot of businesses and was a district known for that - among other things. It attracted a lot of people, including tourists who wanted to see the place which Psy sang about. It wasn’t a bad idea either - not really. It had reason behind it, several in fact.
As he stepped into the office today though he was subjected to many whispers, more than the usual amount of office whispers. Most knew who he was, as in they knew his position, something which had surprised some people when he’d first turned up. There had been whispers then, lots of them, and the same sideways looks he was getting now. But why this time?
It wasn’t until he reached the cafeteria that he found out why. He stopped outside the door to eavesdrop, something he’d normally never do, as he heard a few loudly talking about Quinn and his father rushing out of here due to an emergency. One saying that they heard he was dead, something Seung hadn’t heard about and was sure he would have, another saying he’d fainted or passed out and was in a hospital somewhere. The outrageous words had him worried and curious, concerned, all at once and rather than enter the cafeteria as he’d planned to do he pulled out his phone and unlocked his screen.
Opening his phone book he flicked down to Quinn’s mother, he rather liked her personality, and hit the call button on her name. Moving away from the cafeteria he found an empty meeting room where he took a seat and waited and hoped she’d answer.

Sarah answered the phone with a rather curt “any news?” this was rather quickly followed by a muffled curse, a bit of rather noisy shifting, then her voice coming back on the line. “Seung? Sorry, I didn’t look at the caller ID.” The young man was her son’s friend, he was also working at her husband’s company and if all went according to plan would be working directly with Quinn. He likely heard something was going on, she had learned rather fast that a company was full of gossip. It could be worse then a bunch of old bats cackling over afternoon tea as they share ‘did you hear’s about their neighbors and friends. Her day was as bad as it could get without contending with the constant gossip. As it was the house phone was ringing but she was just letting others get it. Her cell, that was a different matter.
She quickly and succinctly informed Seung what was going on; Quinn passed out at his job, a doctor did look at him, diagnosed with exhaustion with a case of malnutrition and dehydration, currently sleeping it off at a friends. It wasn’t much but it was more than she had a few hours ago when she first got the call that her son had collapsed for no visible reason. After a tense moment of silence the older woman sighed, “Seung I don’t know anything more right now but I’ll let you know. I was assured that Quinn will be fine though with some rest and recuperation. If I have to tie him to a damn chair to get him to rest then that is what I’ll have to do.” That last sentence was muttered, almost growled, as Sarah fought with her feelings of guilt and grief.
She had known her son was working alot, he was probably working too much, but she hadn’t realized it had gotten this bad. That it had gotten so bad that his health was compromised. She had failed as his mother. She had failed in protecting her son. She would do whatever it took to rectify this mistake.
“Once he is back on his feet we will likely take him out to the lake house. Your welcome to come up as long as you don't bring work with you.” Some time out of the city would do the whole family good. Sarah would have suggested going further but there were too many sensitive deals going on that James, Quinn’s dad, couldn’t delegate to someone else. They needed hands on attention. “I’ll keep you in the loop Seung.” Her voice got muffled for a moment before she hurriedly made her goodbyes, “I’ve got to take this. I’ll talk to you later.”

“It’s fine. Was hoping for some news - lots of whispers in office.” He answered as he smiled to himself. He understood not looking at a caller ID due to something going on, something stressing or similar, so it didn’t bother him in the slightest. “Many whispers - many things being said…” Some worrisome while others weren’t as much. He didn’t much like it all though, wanting to know the truth rather than the office gossip.
“Best to know truth rather than what is said behind backs.” And then Quinn’s mother was filling him in on the truth, which he was appreciative of. As he listened he sat nodding his head, leaning back in the chair he was sitting in. It wasn’t good but it wasn’t as bad as some of the whispers he heard, especially the ones saying he was dead.
Should he set them all straight? It wasn’t his place, not really, so he’d let Quinn’s father, or mother maybe, handle the whispering workers and all the rumors floating about. Hopefully someone would do that, even if it was someone else, before someone said something to someone they shouldn’t.
“Will help in anyway I can. I’ll bring food when visiting.” He’d make something, or maybe purchase something, and visit and make sure Quinn ate. He’d do whatever he could to help, and not just because he was working for the other, because they were friends or at least he figured they were. Poor Quinn had been surprised the first time he’d draped himself over the other in order to talk to him, the whole close friendship/skinship thing had been a surprise for the blond. He was just affectionate with his friends - nothing wrong with that.
“Ok, be good and let me know when move happens. Will go with you and have food.” Saying this he let her hang up before deciding to head home and let Terry know, since Terry and Quinn were close. Plus it was best to let Terry know if he planned on taking a trip out of the city in order to see a friend and help them.
Making his way out he again heard the whispers and saw the looks but now knowing what the truth was he was able to ignore it, to not become worried, as he headed home to talk to Terry and make some plans.

Quinn watched the sun filtering through the green leaves, the breeze off of the lake a nice counterpart to the hot and muggy air. He didn’t have anything to do but to sit here and relax at least that's what he was told. It had only been a few days since he collapsed and even less since they came out to the lake house and he was already going stir crazy. Forbidden the inside of the house except for food, sleep, and bathroom he was stuck outside. His folks forbid him the use of a phone, a computer, hell if it was electronic and could access the internet he wasn’t allowed within ten feet of it. It was frustrating as all hell thats for sure. So here he was, just laying in a hammock, the sounds of nature all around him, and bored out of his ever loving mind. The one thing his family couldn’t take away from him was his mind though.
Even as he lazily kicked the hammock into a swing his mind was in full gear. He was currently working through potential landscaping for his final project. It would be nice to be able to visualize the colors and the shapes, to be able to write it down at least but if they found out he would be in such trouble. Even now Quinn knew that if he looked over he would spot someone either carefully caring for the plants in the garden, or cleaning the windows that overlooked his current resting spot, or something else that was productive but nosy. Not that he could really blame them. 16 hours, he passed out and was out of it for 16 hours because he overworked himself. If Rae hadn’t had been there… With a mental shake of his head Quinn deliberately turned his attention back to the tree branches stretched out above him.
Damn it was boring!

He’d finally been called, by Quinn’s mother, and made aware of where he could find Quinn. Not only that but he’d been told of what the situation was, as she had promised to update him on things, so he knew no laptop or talk of work. He did need his phone, in case anything came up back in the city, but nothing else was to come up with him that Quinn could get his hands on. He understood, of course he did, he was still surprised at how long the other had been out of it for. He understood overworking yourself, he had a bad habit of that himself, but that...he’d never managed that.
He had spent the earlier part of the day cooking, having decided to make food rather than purchase as it would be cheaper, he had packed everything up in containers and after letting Terry know he had headed off on his own. Terry had some things to do so couldn’t join him, which he understood, so it was just him heading up to see Quinn - and what a drive!
When he did arrive, a shoulder bag full of packed food and drinks, Seung had to find someone who could point him in the direction of Quinn which wasn’t all that hard to do. It seemed that there were several hired people working at the place, making it look nice, and they seemed willing to help him locate Quinn. So it didn’t take long for him to find the other...swinging on a hammock and appearing rather bored - or just tired.
“Quinn.”

Quinn was contemplating getting his a** up and doing something but just about everything would require dragging someone away from their work since just about anything shy of reading a book was a group activity in this neck of the woods, at least everything outside. Quinn wasn’t even sure he would be allowed a book and he was a little afraid to ask. Anything that could even be remotely construed as work would get him a scolding or a look of disappointment so that really left him with fluff, nothing he was really interested in. With a sigh he was contemplating just that, maybe he could get some decorating ideas from a romance or something, since just laying here was driving him out of his mind.
Is internal contemplation was interrupted though when someone called out his name, barely moving except to turn his head the young man looked over and promptly sat up. “s**t!” He exclaimed in surprise as his abrupt move nearly sent him tumbling to the ground. Hammocks were all fun and good to relax in but they weren't the best to make sudden moves in. The woven rope contraption was more likely to dump you out as it was to go into a swing at such moments. It took a bit to stabilize and actually end up sitting upright facing his friend but finally he was, his feet on the ground really helped with that, “Seung! Hey man. What are you doing out here?” His brows rose as he took in the new hair color and style, “When did that happen? Its pretty damn neat looking but I’ve obviously been a bit lacking in coming around if I missed that much of a change.”
He mentally blanched and wondered if he really did miss that. Had he been so wrapped up in his project and his work that he missed the new silver hair and the new style. That was something he had been forced to realize with this mandatory vacation, there was a lot that he had ‘seen’ but not realized. He had missed a lot and that was something he needed to rectify.

Watching as Quinn nearly fell out of his hammock the gray haired male couldn’t help the laughter which came out of him, it was rather amusing really. When Quinn had finally gotten his feet on the ground, and his a** still in the hammock, he nodded his head in greeting. The other had, luckily, not fallen from the hammock and landed on the ground. Not that it would have been much of a fall, but still.
“Came to visit, thought might be bored and need company.” He offered up as he drew closer and motioned, with his head, to the bag he carried. “Made food also, hope you don’t mind. Isn’t American...can’t cook that.” He wasn’t much for American food anyway. Some of it due to taste and some just not being appetizing or very healthy, at least in his opinion.
“A month or so…” Shrugging a bit. “Were busy so you didn’t see. Got hair made straight, colored and new style. Didn’t want to bother you, plus was busy also.” He really had been rather busy lately, though it was easing up a bit, finals and all were done with and it was time for summer vacation as he wasn’t taking any summer classes.
“Come eat...we can talk then - no one listening in right?” He asked wanting to make sure, incase anything powered came up. He did sort of really want to tell the other that he’d powered up and Erebus was now a transcended knight as well. It was big things really, and helpful for their side in this whole mess of a war.

Quinn made a face at his friend for the laughter but he totally understood it, he probably would have laughed as well if the situation had been reversed. Well if he wasn’t trying to be an adult that was. Granted he was kind of flat out told off that him trying to be an ‘adult’ was what got him in this situation to begin with. So obviously he needed to rethink a few things. “Well Seung, your right I am bored and would adore some company.” He climbed to his feet with a bit of a struggle, getting out of a hammock was never easy no matter what. But finally he was standing in front of his fellow knight. “Food would be good, it around lunch time anyway so let's just dig in. It would be a welcome change to the regular fare I’ve been eating lately.” He wasn’t lying either since he had been fed three square meals a day, balanced and totally healthy. Something new would be very nice. He was getting a bit tired of choking down spinach and brussel sprouts.
He stretched some before nodding. “Yeah but let's head down towards the lake. No one should bother us there.” There really was only two places to actually sit and eat and that was up at the house where they would be surrounded by staff or down by the lake where the closest people would be someone cruising by on the water. “Unless you would rather do a picnic? I think I can scrounge up a ground cloth if you just want to chill out on the grass.” The sandy haired fellow indicated the expanse of grass between the house and the edge of the lake, plenty of space to just toss out a blanket and have an impromptu picnic.

“Same foods this whole time? Good thing then for different foods.” Though he didn’t ask what the other had been eating this whole time, what same sort of food he’d been consuming, it wasn’t important really. At least he was bringing the other something that was a reprieve for the other from what was routine. Seung was happy to know he could offer something good to the other, after he’d had his incident.
“Outside by the lake. No blanket or indoors where people can hear - too risky.” Given that without even thinking about it a conversation could easily change to that of powered life and such, and it likely would given how excited over making Squire he was. “Is a dock or place can sit and eat - not needing cloth to use?” He questioned the other while already motioning for the other to lead the way, he would of course follow.
“Heard you are here for some time - didn’t hear how long. Told Terry was coming here to see you, would have come also but is busy.”

“Well,” Quinn stretched out the word a bit, scratching his head as he tried to explain. “Not the same really, just similar. Like, um,” He was at a loss for a good analogy at first but then it hit him like a flash of light. “Like paperwork. It's kind of like doing accounting for a while then switching to advertisement. Both have numbers and stats and every paper is slightly different but they are drastically different.” He used his hands to try to explain, they likely didn’t help much. Ultimately it didn’t matter anyway since Seung agreed that different food was a good thing.
His friend’s choice of phrase for the reasoning of their dining location had him raising a brow. Really the only kind of conversation that required that kind of caution was for something illegal like theft or murder or if you live in Destiny City… being a ‘terrorist’. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that Seung had some knight business he wanted to discuss and since Quinn had been seriously out of the loop, first from the drinking and then when he came back he slowly slipped into work and away from actually doing more ‘mystical’ work like patrolling or training, he actually had a lot to catch up on. The odd building hopping he did to get out of the house didn’t really count. Especially since he didn’t contact any of his team since he really fell into the work hole that his life had become. “Uh, yeah. Come on.” He indicated for the other knight to follow him as he leisurely strolled towards the water lapping the lake edge.
“I don’t know myself how long I’m going to be stuck here.” Quinn sighed as he glanced back at his friend. “I don’t think my mom would want me to go back at all but even she can’t stop time and there really are work projects that need to get finished before I start working with your project completely.” He was really dreading the papers that had to be piling up on his desk even as they spoke. Yeah his coworkers could deal with a lot of them but it always seemed like there weren’t enough hands as it was so with him out of commision they likely were scrambling to stay above water themselves.
Speaking of water the duo had actually reached the lake side, gravel and pebbles creating a kind of small beach and a dock where a boat sat tied up. Quinn bypassed the ‘beach’ and the dock and headed for the three picnic tables that had been placed in the shade of a massive oak tree overlooking the lake. “It’s a shame that Terry couldn’t come with today but I can understand being busy. Hell, I would have been ‘busy’ too if I wasn’t here.” He would have been buried under work with even more for that night, and the next day and the next day and the next day. Now with a few days of sleep and decent meals under his belt, Quinn was a bit surprised that he didn’t collapse earlier honestly. Not with the way he was going.

Looking over to Quinn, surprise written across his features, Seung stared for a moment. He didn’t even know when he’d be returning to the city - damn. Listening to the other talk about his mother and the projects he needed to get done, before they could start on theirs, he nodded once. “I could try and help - reduce work on desk...find others to help?” He questioned. As of right now, because their project hadn’t officially started, he didn’t have much to do around the office really and didn’t even have to actually go in even.
“Could start out project early maybe...if anything I can do ahead of time.” he wouldn’t mind having some work to do and being able to help the other, even if he couldn’t have Quinn at his side while he worked on things. He wasn’t unable to do things on his own and prepare things for the other, for when things really got started.
“Might want to start soon anyway…. Olympics this winter - would be good advertising.” So many eyes on the Olympics, not just at the village and the hotels up in PyeongChang but elsewhere in South Korea as there would be an influx in people and tourists. Incheon airport would be where most would arrive from and from there either to Seoul or to PyeongChang but people might also go the distance and visit other cities, though that he did doubt, it was still a good way to get out anything they could and add to what would already be going on.
Subway stations as well as buses would also be a good option as many people took subways and how many people saw buses running around the city as well as took a bus. It would be a good start for things if they could still even arrange for such a campaign. He knew he shouldn’t be talking work but he figured it might give the other something to think about so he didn’t go insane, it wasn’t like he could actually do anything aside from imagine - right?
As they reached the lake Seung took the time to look around, it really was nice and peaceful. He didn’t expect it to be anything other than peaceful though, it was a lake and it was a place they could talk in private after all. Setting the large bag of food down he started pulling things out. He had soup in containers and noodle dishes as well as mandu. Then came the little side dishes - lots of them. Drinks also came out and were set down, including tea, he had maybe gone a bit over the top in his cooking but he figured it was worth it. The kitchen back home no doubt still smelled from all the cooking he’d done, he’d left some food for everyone else if they wanted a sampling. But most of what he’d made was here for them to enjoy. Forks and spoons as well as chopsticks were set out as were napkins then.
“Need to work less - learned it from Terry. Short break up brought that lesson to me.” Seating himself once everything was laid out, and tops removed, he settled in to watch the other. “Terry is knight now...after incident with big youma bird. Almost died then - starseed was taken. Also transcended now too.” He’d almost lost Terry twice this year and that was just to death, the almost loss of their relationship was a third time though it was less dramatic and important.
“Almost died again recently...is at home because of that - grounded.” He said smiling as he grabbed for some rice from the bowl he had for himself, there were two bowls of white rice. Some veggies were also grabbed and put into a leaf before eating it. “Had to kill Captain to save him...also powered up but saved him - more important..” He didn’t like that he’d killed, who would, and he had dreams about it but he’d needed to do it in order to save the other. It had been so close - too close.

Quinn waved off Seung’s offer to help with his job even as the approached the tables. “Sadly it's not something I can push off on someone else. As for getting started on our project, the Olympics might be a good point for some ads. You should talk to dad and get his take on it. I know they are still arguing with the board on the location and the start up costs but I’ve been pretty out of the loop.” The young man shrugged and guiltily glanced back at the house. “We really shouldn’t be discussing work. As much as I would like too if someone finds out… Getting told off might be the least of our worries.” He had been strictly told to stay away from work of any kind so while they couldn’t stop him from thinking about it they could guilt him into avoiding it, kind of. “Besides, until I get my hands on the papers and projections it's all speculation. Ads during the Olympics might get our name out there but without a set date for the opening of the company branch in Seoul, if it will even be in Seoul, might be a bit over reaching on our part.”
His stomach growled slightly as Seung unpacked his bag of food. The sight of something other than salad and chicken was a welcome one and one that had him itching for a pair of chopsticks, especially when he spotted the mandu. He liked the dumplings the most. Quinn settled himself at the table and picked up his eating utensils, he was about to say ‘jal meokkesseumnida’ to basically give thanks for the meal as Seung taught him when his friends news pretty much killed his appetite. “Wait, what? I know you two took a short break but what's this about a youma bird? Terry is a knight now? Whose seed was taken? His? When? What happened? How the hell did the transcendence happen?” Apparently a hell of a lot more happened while he was buried in work then Quinn realized. He had seen a few glowy knights and senshi by now and knew that they were transcendent but what Quinn didn’t know what how they became that way or what exactly it meant beyond the new night light abilities of the order fighters. Had anyone on their side of the war actually figured it out?
Quinn muttered a curse even as Seung added more to the ‘the ******** did I miss’ fire. To make matters worse the sneaky little bugger started to dig in even as Quinn was just sitting there looking like a t**t, a dumbfounded look on his face. “First of all, I’m glad Terry is ok. What happened exactly that ended with you actually killing? Second, don't think I missed the whole ‘also powered up’ thing you slipped in there. And third… don't eat it all.” Finally his hunger over ruled his head and he dug in, going right for the mandu. He would leave some for Seung……. Maybe. As he ate his mind was running in all kinds of directions. He knew just as well as any other fighter that this ‘war’ really was a kill or be killed situation. He had been told time and time again that unless he was willing to kill he shouldn’t fight but beyond youma he had never been cornered to that point. Could he kill? Could he kill a living person? A person with a family? A guy or girl with friends and loved ones? What would happen if he didn’t? Would he be willing to leave his companions behind? His parents? Rae?

That was the big reason he wasn’t doing much even when he was at the office - logistics. They hadn’t figured out where to start up or anything else. They knew they wanted to place an office in Seoul, as it was the capitol, but where was the big question and how big, it wouldn’t be good if they went too big only to suffer losses due to it. “I’ll talk to your father. Should get his take on it and help - with office ideas.” Maybe he could offer up some ideas, seeing as he’d lived there his whole life. He was sure to have some ideas he could offer, especially ones which might help with the issues they faced.
“Maybe not. Idol groups advertize before debut….get hype up and start generating fans. Is common...might help to hit ground running.” He’d bring it up to the others father. While music was not the same thing as what they’d be doing it was a similar idea. If they could set the date around the same time, even if it was a bit after the Olympics or even during them, it could generate some hype early for them and help. It worked in other areas so it was something they could look into at least.
If he could have helped Quinn with what was no doubt sitting on his desk, waiting for his return, he would have. He’d have liked to help the other as much as he could, so he could return to the office with as little work waiting for him as possible.
“Food now. Will talk to your father soon about ideas. If they help it will be good for us.” If he could also help them figure out where to start up, where to look for an office, it would be good for them. Then they could get to moving things in and the hiring process, as that would no doubt take some time as well. Sorting through resumes would be no easy task, as they would get a lot of them he was sure.
Watching Quinn stare at the mandu he found himself laughing. He knew the other liked them, it was why he’d gone ahead and made them, this was a meal for the other more than himself so he’d packed foods he knew the other had tasted before and things he liked.
“Remember night the power went out in the city...power plant had been hit by something...can’t remember news said something.” He said while taking another bite of his own food. Starting at the other. “Was not news said. Was General with big skeletal bird youma...and many little ones. Destroyed plant.” Here he shook his head, sweeping his greyish hair from his face and going for one of the mandu he’d packed for them, chop sticks clicking against the others metal set he knew he’d better get one now before Quinn ate them all. He would be nice enough to leave the rest for Quinn, though secretly he’d planned on them all going to Quinn anyway.
“One youma, like snake, took Terry’s starseed….ate it.” But it was all skeletal so it was just bouncing about between rib bones really. It wasn’t like it was hidden away by flesh and muscle and such. It was easy, sorta, to get. “Saved it from youma and returned to him.” He’d wanted to smash the damn snake youma and dust it but he hadn’t, someone else had, his focus had been on Erebus and saving him. The youma had died though. As the other continued eating, no longer looking so lost, Seung smiled and laughed. “Knew you would catch power up part in there. Terry did so when going on patrol together.” It had been unexpected and a bit random, he’d felt really left behind still being a Page at the time. He didn’t worry as much now, he could hold his own a bit better in a fight.
He’d been stalling , in the hopes of not coming to the real question, but it was here and he sat tapping the metal tips of his chopsticks to his bottom lip. “Had to...Terry…..had dealt much damage to him - too much. They were going to kill him. Didn’t think...just did what I had to - couldn’t lose again.” Even if he’d saved him the first time he had still sort of lost him in a sense, or at least it had come as close as it possibly could without him actually dying. “Not sorry I did it. Feel guilt, is still a person and all life is important. But one life to another - picked one closer to me.” The one which he held close to his own heart. He’d done what he’d had to do. “Powered up then….” He finally had magic...although Terry had found it entertaining. It was fitting he supposed given his princess and her sphere being lust.
