Mpeka was near the oasis, basking in the shadow of the rock's that surrounded it.
A small contented half smile on her maw.
Ever since her night with Kavu, she had been feeling strange and had been getting rather large aswell.
It was only instinct that told her she was expecting and although a little surprised, she was happy to hold the second of the next generation.
After meeting Nuri and her cub's, she was rather pleased on having her own...although she had no idea how many to expect.
Still, all she could do was lie there, blissfully enjoying the day.

Nuri found herself slowly walking with Naraka towards the oasis. Naraka could easliy pad along on his own, and as he did so the older lioness felt herself pick up. It would be up to her son to keep up with her, and she had faith that he could do it, for already he was surprising her with each day.
However, soon her padding stopped as she looked to see another figure at the oasis, one that made her still and wonder if it was alright to join in. Stilling all of her steps as well as her sons, Nuri just waited with baited breath.

The dark hued lionesses ear flicked, bright yellow eye's looking in the direction of the newcomer, only for her to slowly walk out of the shadow and give a small, relaxed smile at the sight of Nuri.
It had been a month or so since they'd talked, they'd seen each other now and again but never had a talk with each other, maybe today would be the day.
"Good day Nuri." She said softly. "And to you too, young Naraka."

Nuri just blinked as the lioness moved some more out of the shadows, and she lowered her head lightly until she caught sight of the weight Mpeka carried. Letting her eyes roll at her paranoia, she straightened up and moved to look at her son, suddenly figuring out a way to get close to the lioness who was all but royality.
"Naraka...let's get some water." She spoke softly, in a slight commanding tone as she saw him start to protest. Pushing him towards the waters, they soon stood a few yards away, Naraka lapping the waters and Nuri glancing towards Mpeka.
"Hello Mpeka." She said in an emotionless drawl, as if she were bored already, yet she showed no annoyance nor threat towards the pregnant lioness.

Mpeka's ear's flicked slightly with Nuri's words, golden eye's watching her before she let her smile grow more calm, eye's narrowing in a relaxed manner as she watched her.
She thought this lioness showed the proper Firekin personality and, even though she admitted it, sounded more Firekin then she could ever hope to be.
"How has the day been for you?" She asked semi-curiously, while she glanced at Naraka for a moment.
Only for her glance to return to the mother.

Keeping her eyes closer on Mpeka as the other seemed to eye Naraka, Nuri moved in front of the view of her son, taking the protective stance as her eyes narrowed lightly in warning. She couldn't help but feel protective, for she still had yet to trust thoes of the pride just yet.
"The day has been like any other, filled with disappointments as every member of our pride seemed to look out only for themselves, save for royality of course, and even than only two stayed behind." It was a blunt comment, but she shook her head, and turned to her son with the disappointment fading as well.

The lioness watched her move into the view of her son, only to nod slightly in respect for the mother's wishes.
She would feel protective too if someone was looking at her cub's.
But at her comment, her ear's couldn't help but flatten slightly, watching Nuri closely.
"It is often that we do look out only for ourselves...but...we do pull through when the pride is most needed."
She said sagely.
Not in a threatening way, just in a calm mannered way.
She was in no state to be threatening.

She eyed Mpeka at thoes words before turning her head away and getting some water herself, tail swinging slowly back and forth as she grew annoyed at what the other said. Lifting her head, she glared into the waters before responding, not once turning her head.
"The Blood is needed right now, and all that I see is more leaving that staying."
Shifting from where his mother had moved, Naraka moved to glance right at Mpeka, his dark eyes starring as the even darker rims made the colors stand out. Looking to his mother as she spoke, he remembered her teachings and than let out a light growl, though it sounded more mewl-like than anything else. He really didnt care, because all he wanted was attention, and he got that at least from his mother, and now he just needed to make her proud.
"It is up to my generation to bring back the blood to its glory." His voice hid nothing once more as he puffed his small chest in pride, before grinning at his mother. Yet, as he saw her frown at his interruption, his ears fell and he moved between her paws, knowing she was only looking to protect him more than anything else.

Mpeka watched her, ear's perking as the cub spoke, only to let a small smile, barely noticable grave her maw, tail twitching back and forth in a relaxed manner.
The cub was truly a good Firekin, like his mother, she then lifted her head to Nuri before watching as her son moved back between her paws.
"Your son is a great addition to the Blood and yes, I must admit it does need help." She then straightened herself up slightly.
Showing the small, but growing, bulge inside her stomache as she looked at the other lioness.
"But we'll grow to our old glory, after all, we do have the blood of Finar-si inside us."
She said softly.
She was proud of her pride's heritage, they where the strongest pride in Africa in their eye's.

"Finar-si...of course..." She sighed and decided not to speak of her wonderings. For awhile, she wondered just about Finar-si, for sometimes she questioned the goddess to an extent. Of course, she held faith in her goddess, but she felt as if there were more, as if there were other siblings of Finar-si that had been forgotten through the generations. She knew that if they remembered, the strength would grow as well, for being blessed by other gods would bring more power, but she dared not speak of such disrespect.
Naraka looked from his mother to Mpeka, and than back again, before shaking his head and deciding to step out once more, though he kept close. Ears perking at last, he just kept his eyes on Mpeka, and waited to see what would happen

The pregnant female looked at Naraka for only a second, only to look back up at Nuri, she then sighed a little before placing another small, hardly noticable smile on her muzzle.
She then gently pushed her paws against the sand as she moved to lay down.
"Well...hopefully my cubs will add to the new generation, along with your two son's."
She had only now mentioned her pregnancy, wondering how Nuri would react.
Although, knowing this female, who had known she was mates with Kavuasi, she didn't expect much of a surprise.

It was not Nuri who reacted first, for it was Naraka who twisted his nose up and let out a snort.
"Who says we need anyone else, Ra and me are enough to carry on the blood!" In his mind, the geneneration was himself and his brother, and as if to prove his point, Naraka raised his head and let his eyes meet thoes of Mpeka, but he lowered his head as his mother let out a warning hiss.
"Naraka..." She told him softly, tone hard, "The pride is to grow on the generation you must lead. Though you wont be royality, you are the first and thoes others must look up to and follow. If you are to fail in your leadership, the generation will be lost in the darkness the pride searches through. Remember," at this point, she looked to Mpeka, "You are the light the pride must follow back to our strength and prosperity. Never forget." Standing and moving to his side, she kept her eyes on Mpeka.
"We must raise our children well, Mpeka."

The lioness watched Naraka closely, ear's flattened back softly as his mother spoke and kept eye contact with the female, only to nod to her word's.
Mpeka was curious at the little male, he and his brother where indeed the oldest cub's as of yet and would have to become the leader's if the King did not sire any children.
"Yes...we must, for the sake of the pride."
