You approach the stack of barrels in a nook off the right side of the Kitchen corridor and pull out your wand and tap the Barrel two from the bottom, middle of the second row. In the rhythm of ‘Helga Hufflepuff’, causing the lid to swing open. As a security device to repel non-Hufflepuffs, tapping on the wrong barrel, or tapping the incorrect number of times, results in one of the other lids bursting off and drenching the interloper in vinegar.
A sloping, earthy passage inside the barrel travels upwards a little way until a cozy, round, low-ceiling room is revealed, reminiscent of a badger's set. The room is decorated in the cheerful, bee-like colours of yellow and black, emphasized by the use of highly polished, honey-coloured wood for the tables and the round doors which lead to the boys and girls dormitories (furnished with comfortable wooden bedsteads, all covered in patchwork quilts). All girls are able to enter the boys' dorms, however, boys are not allowed in the girls'; a strong magic keeps them from being able to open the door.
A colourful profusion of plants and flowers seem to relish the atmosphere of the Hufflepuff common room: various cacti stand on wooden circular shelves (curved to fit the walls), many of them waving and dancing at passers-by, while copper-bottomed plant holders dangling amid the ceiling cause tendrils of ferns and ivies to brush your hair as you pass under them.
A portrait over the wooden mantelpiece (carved all over with decorative dancing badgers) shows Helga Hufflepuff, one of the four founders of Hogwarts School, toasting her students with a tiny, two-handled golden cup. Small, round windows just level with the ground at the foot of the castle show a pleasant view of rippling grass and dandelions, and, occasionally, passing feet. These low windows notwithstanding, the room feels perennially sunny.
There is also a bulletin board which students may post announcements, report lost items, school notices, ads, and etc. upon.
Please be sure to keep the rhythm and barrel in mind unless you want a Vinegar shower!

Travelling deep into the dungeons, where the chill begins to sink into flesh and bones, constricting hair to stand on end, the corridors begin to wind left and right, scattering in all directions. Maintaining close to the main corridor, the cellars can be found soon after. Scanning the walls for a deliberate niche, the common room lurked behind. But first, look down the hall in both directions, be wary, and then inspect the wall.
"Natus magnus," the password was spoken to the wall.
It opens and grants passage inside, into the Slytherin Common Room. Upon entering, the atmosphere catches you off-guard. True, it is slightly spooky, but there is also grandeur emanating from it. It is tinted green from either the greenish lamps, or the fact that it is partially extended under the lake. It is a low-ceiling, dungeon-like room, with everything coloured either green or silver, including the chairs. There are low backed black and dark green leather sofas with buttons, dark wood cupboards, and skulls.
On opposite sides of the room are two, heavy, reinforced wooden doors. The one on the left leads to the girls dorms and the one on the right (across the common room from the girls' dorms) is the boys dorms. The door to the girls' dorms will disappear whenever a boy is near it, preventing any boy from entering. It doesn't prevent a girl from exiting and entering when the door disappears, however.
There is also a bulletin board which students may post announcements, report lost items, school notices, ads, and etc. upon.
Please be sure to keep your password hidden and safe so that you're not locked out!

As you finally reach the Seventh Floor of the Grand Staircase, you approach a rather interesting portrait. The woman is very fat and is wearing a slightly pink silk dress. She smiles at you, and suddenly barks, "What's the password?"
You hesitate for a moment, then you remember:
"Flibbertigibbet," you answer strongly. The Fat Lady nods and her portrait swings open to reveal a circular portrait hole for you to enter. You do and, upon exiting this hole, you are suddenly faced with a room that is also circular in structure. You are now in the Gryffindor Common Room, found in the Gryffindor Tower. Everything in the room is colored scarlet and gold. These are the colors of Gryffindor. There is one window which looks out over the grounds of Hogwarts, and a large fireplace stretches across one of the walls.
There are two archways beside each other on the same wall; each archway has its own staircase. The staircase on the left spirals up to the girls dormitories. The staircase on the right spirals up to the boys dormitories. Girls are allowed into the boys' dorms, but boys' are not allowed in the girls' dorms. If they attempt to do so, the staircase will turn into a slide, forcing the boy to slide back down into the Common Room.
There is also a bulletin board which students may post announcements, report lost items, school notices, ads, and etc. upon.

You wander up the staircase to the fifth floor, looking around as you do. You spot what you were looking for and make your way towards a spiral staircase. You climb up it, trailing your hand across the stone as you ascend. When you finally reach the top, you are faced with a door lacking a doorknob and keyhole. The only thing on this bare door is a bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle.
You gently touch it.
"Inside me the adventurous find Quests and treasures of every kind. Trolls, goblins, orcs, and more, await Within my closed walls for All those that wish to visit me. Your hands are the key To secrets untold, And your mind will unlock the door.." You jump when it speaks. When you've collected yourself, you calmly recite the answer.
"A book." The door swings open and you venture inside to a circular room in which there is a midnight blue carpet. This room is airy and feels roomier than the other Common Rooms. There are arched windows which are draped with soft, blue silks and a domed ceiling painted with stars. Outside the windows, you can see the mountains clearly and you gaze at those before you turn your attention to the furniture of the room. There are chairs, bookcases, and tables at which to work at. Everything is colored either blue or bronze, which are your House colors.
There is a door which leads to both the girls dorms and boys dorms. The staircase splits halfway up; girls go left, boys go right. Any boy who tries to get to the girls' dorms will go up an endless flight of stairs, not making any progress upward.
Beside the door to the dorm staircase, is the tall statue of Rowena Ravenclaw made of white marble.
There is also a bulletin board which students may post announcements, report lost items, school notices, ads, and etc. upon.
Please be sure to think about the answer to the riddle before you say it so that you're not locked out! Those who answer incorrectly will be locked out until another student answers the riddle correctly.
