It began sometime on the first night, out on the beach, where a bonfire had been hastily thrown together from whatever flammable scraps of trees could be pieced together. First it was only a handful of less traumatized hunters chatting excitedly, laughing, and passing something around. On an island with nothing else to do but stargaze and manage resources, word spread quickly. Lucky, in an effort to get people to leave him alone, had lent out an artifact for everyone to try out, a ring that made anyone who wore it on their finger tell the truth. And who wouldn't abuse that kind of power to play a game of truth or dare without the dare?rules? - someone puts on the ring, and is status effect'd by the artifact to only tell the truth as long as it's on - someone else asks the ring-wearer a question - person wearing the ring has to answer truthfully if they speak. - i leave it up to you guys what to do with someone if they refuse to answer a question. - in order to make sure everyone has a chance with the ring without needing to wait too long for it to organically pass around, you may create separate drabble titles within the thread referring to who has the ring on at a given time, ie if it was my character it would be something like [ LUCKY AMA ], if people would like to interact with or ask that particular character questions. always make sure the person who has the ring on is labeled in the title and always have that title at the top of your posts to that particular drabble, even if it is not your character. that way people know who all is talking to that character and can join in. - you may be in multiple time frame drabble things at the same time if you like. it's up to you to keep track XD always check the top of a post to see which group it's for IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS OR SOMETHING ISN'T MAKING SENSE JUST LIKE MESSAGE ME ON DISCORD OR WHATEVER IT'S COOL Artifact Description Ring of Truth: A small ring with a simple gem fastened at the end. Status Effect: Anyone wearing the ring on their FINGER can only speak the truth. This does not affect anyone who is at a higher rank/ Fear level than the owner of the ring itself. This effect lasts until the ring is taken off.

{Clyde's question}
Clyde had joined the group, more curious than anything. He hadn't exactly settled down and made friends with the other hunters. For some reason he had always been too busy with something or other.
So he sat with the group, taking the not at all suspicious looking ring. What could possibly go wrong? He shoved it on his finger. His pinky one, it probably wouldn't fit the others.
"Alright what exactly is this thing supposed to do?"

[ Clyde AMA ]Zeke was trying, successfully he thought, to dry out his cigarettes beside the fire. He had them laid out in a row on a flat rock beside the burning embers, and laid himself in the sand not too far from them. Arms folded behind his head, ankles crossed, he looked at ease in their new setting, but honestly, that might have just been exhaustion winning out. Without opening his eyes he'd tip his head in Clyde's direction, answering his question. "Truth ring, so probably makes you tell the truth." It was easy enough to test that. "When was the last time you got laid, and to who?"

[MELVIN AMA - wearing the ring]
Melvin couldn't sleep and settled by the fire to watch it a while. When the ring was passed, he stared at it a while before wiping it clean. There had been directions to put it on to play the game, and he decided through the haze that it seemed harmless enough. Putting it on, he stared back at the group.
"What happened to just asking questions." He sighed.

{Clyde's question}Roswell was enjoying the bonfire, and trying to keep a positive outlook. After all, it wasn't raining, and a night on a lost island under the stars wasn't so bad. He'd spent the day putting together a hammock and hunting fish, neither of which were skills he'd put in his resume, or in fact ever needed in an office position, but Lysander's occasional wild hairs about "getting back to nature" had provided him with a little experience in roughing it.
Roswell always applied himself to whatever they'd gotten into with 100% effort.
A game of magical Truth or Truth, however, he was less keen on.
"Nonsense," he said, "I very much doubt the existence of any kind of ring of truth, but it's a cute gimmick." He didn't know anything about Clyde, but threw out with a sly smile, "Oh, I'm sure Mr. ...Did you introduce yourself? I'm Thomas Roswell, Mr. Astoria's personal assistant. Mr. In The Hot Seat couldn't have gotten up to too much actual trouble. Describe your wildest fantasy."

[ Mikael's questions ]
Mikael wasn't really taking the whole island thing very seriously, what was one island to another really? He was still able to make sandcastles and had dried his clothes off plenty of times in the past. Self sufficiently he'd been getting by and had snuck into the truth or dare game just for a bit of a laugh.
He put the ring on and sat down.
"My turn? Should I tell you a story about my sandcastles?"
He hadn't really been listening.

Clyde's Question
"If it's an artifact, then it can do that. We have an archive of what artifacts do back in Life. So let's see what this can do." He waited for the answer and was prepared to ask one to Clyde too. He didn't know the man specifically, but that didn't mean he was above torturing someone.

[Roswell AMA]
Roswell doubted the ring had any effect barring psychological persuasion, or he wouldn't have put it on in the first place. In a game of Truth or Dare, he most certainly preferred Dare. He was not keen to talk about his past, or his fantasy life, or his romantic prospects, or Mr. Astoria's business, but he would humor the people here because he was a good enough sport to participate in whatever nonsense Lysander decided to get up to.
He fitted the ring on a slim finger, raising his eyebrow challengingly at the hunters parked around the fire.

[ Mikael's questions ]
"No, that's for story time. Truth ring means only the truth, so why not hear a bit more deep questions. Tell me - has there been anything you wanted from others but kept yourself from asking and if so, what are they?" He asked, looking over at him with a smile.

Melvin didn't even have to think hard on this question. "Have you ever wished you were one of Lysander's horses? "

[Roswell AMA]
Lysander gave Roswell a grin and decided to see if this ring thing actually worked. He was sceptical that it was even possible to force someone to tell the truth at all, especially when most people hardly knew the truths in themselves. Still, he was stuck here and he might as well make the most of it while he was.
"So Roswell." he said lazily, sprawled on his side.
"Did you think my wife was right to leave me?"

[ Mikael's question ]
Nash, having washed up on shore quite a few hours ago, was trying to figure out why he was here.
Not necessarily, here, as in, on this little scrap of an island, but here, as in, why he was sitting around with these people. He didn't know any of them, and felt more than a little out of place, but, well, here he was anyway, curled up with his arms around his knees and watching the goings on.
He was also trying to figure out how old this kid was.[ Roswell AMA ]
Merric was still feeling the effects of the whole...debacle. At least he'd managed to shed his ridiculously fluffy coat, so that he felt less like a drowned animal and more like himself. And at least there were people he knew, like Roswell, which meant that Lysander couldn't be far behind - and he was right.
Even if the concept of a truth revealing ring seemed a little absurd.
The blond haired one received a wide eyed, startled look, Merric's lips parting.
"What sort of question is that?" he asked, nonplussed.

[ Mikael's questions ] Mikael gave Melvin a raised brow. It was a specific question and it took him a minute even to think about what he was being asked.
"I've wanted people to help me get back at my dad." he said, unable to stop himself the moment it pinged into his head.

[ Roswell's AMA ]
Roswell, to his horror, found himself answering without even thinking. He meant to give a guarded, Of course not, to Melvin's question, but instead what he said was, "It entirely depends on what you mean. If you're talking about being a literal horse, then no, I find Lysander's horses frankly terrifying, especially since his favorites are the most dangerous stallions he can find, and the only one I could tolerate riding was a drafthorse that he kept aside for his daughter's friends. I certainly couldn't have a wardrobe that consisted entirely of blankets and hay. If, however, you're asking if I'd like him to ride me like a pony with the associated leather fittings, I'd be completely amenable to the idea."
Roswell's alarm heightened, and he covered his mouth, before going on, "Sir, I am really very sorry-" And unable to keep himself from answering Lysander's question, "No, sir, you were doing your best to provide for your family, and I was just as heartbroken as you were over the loss of Odette's custody, God I can not believe I answered that other question, I do not recommend putting this ring on since it is definitely working on a more than persuasion level of operation."
