It had been some time since she last saw Scylla, lending her fellow Eternal a bottle of the moon's finest relief. Kallichore sincerely hoped Scylla was able to sleep, free from the torments of her mind. There was really only one way to find out.

With a flick of her wrist, her cellphone appeared in her gloved hand. A warm summer breeze rose to meet her, fuku layers fluttering gently as Kallichore sent out a quick message to Scylla, hopeful that she would reply. It would make Kallichore's heart swell with pride to know if the kraken senshi benefited at all from the water she'd brought back from the moon. Scylla briefly alluded to using alcohol to some degree, which was of some concern. Without much more information, the senshi in red felt prying would be too forceful and rude.



Too polite, or perhaps too serious. Kallichore sighed and hit the send button before she went back to edit the thing six or seven times in the span of twenty minutes.

Kallichore didn't expect a text message back. At least, not so soon. She had assumed Scylla kept a very busy schedule and was assuming they would send messages back and forth to plan on a meeting sometime in the future. The eternal hadn't expected an offer to meet almost immediately. A slight smile sprung to her face and she took a few moments to type out a reply, hiding the slight inner excitement she felt. Perhaps a little of that hero-worship still clung to her spirit from the Blood Moon days.



Really, she equally craved the books and to spend some time with Scylla, someone she so idolized in her younger years. Biting her lip, Kallichore reminded herself that they were more equals now than they'd ever been, and outwardly gushing at or over Scylla would come off as incredibly out-of-character. ....not to mention, creepy.

It wasn't long before a silhouette appeared on the Jolly Burger building, though Scylla very likely felt her presence before she could be seen. Eternals tended to put out beacons on the mental radars of others. Lighting quietly in the parking lot, away from prying eyes, Kallichore slowly approached the kraken senshi and gave her a courteous nod. Too serious, probably, but anything to keep from gushing like a complete fool.

"How have the nights been treating you, Scylla? I hope that water has been of some help. It bothered me not that it's been in your possession for this long. I assume that's a good thing...?"

The eternal gave her blue counterpart a curt nod, trying not to be so obviously gawking at the car. She didn't know an exceptional amount about cars, other than their basic inner workings. Luxury cars were never something she'd had the funds to even consider, and yet here Scylla was, standing next to something that probably cost more than three years' salary to even glance at.

"I'm relieved to know the water has been helpful for you, Scylla." A slight blush crept to her cheeks and Kallichore moved to cover it with a gloved hand. She was staring. "...I cannot turn down a library, truthfully. I work in one, but a personal, curated stock is infinitely more... fun."

Stop staring at the car... stop staring at the car...

She was making a fool of herself.

With a shake of her head, the eternal simply asked the question that was so obviously hanging in the air. "Scylla, I know you had explained earlier that you have quite the collection of expensive alcohol. This car... is this... yours? A personal library, bottles worth thousands of dollars, and perhaps this car... leads me to believe you come from significant money. Forgive my ignorance. My stock is... considerably less valuable, monetarily."

Kallichore felt immensely out of her league. Scylla had dismissed her fuku and thus the glamour, prompting her fellow to do the same after some hesitation. She didn't dress as well as Scylla did, nor did she have the same sense of fashion. She didn't carry herself as Scylla did. Instead, when the fuku melted away, it revealed a rather demurely-dressed young woman. Full sleeves on the cream-color tunic top and a full-length simply brown skirt accompaniment. Nothing special, nothing fancy.

"Christa." she said, after a few moments of self-reflection. "It's a pleasure to meet you... again."

What confidence Kallichore possessed while in senshi form seemed to have dissipated with her fuku. The offer to drive the most expensive car she'd ever seen in her life was met with a gulp. "W-w...would that be wise? I certainly wouldn't want anything terrible to befall your car... Insurance or no, I certainly couldn't hope to pay for any damaged, even a ding."

The allure of a personally-curated library had her practically salivating, but Christa managed to hold that part together, at the very least. Really, the thrill of the library might trump the thrill of the car, but one was decidedly less risky than the other. "...could I ate least buy dinner?"

Christa looked about ready to faint.

Better now to grab the food and please Scylla before attempting to drive her rather expensive car. With a deep sigh, Christa waited for her companion to accompany her inside to order food. Greasy dinner acquired, now came the task of driving the incredibly expensive car. Sure, Jada had explained it's fully insured and she even has a maintenance man on her payroll, and Christa had her own measly car insurance, but that did nothing to stem the anxiety.

Getting behind the wheel, the grey-haired woman was sure she'd have gone grey if she wasn't already. She said a silent prayer to the universe while Jada started giving directions.

Please don't let me wreck this car... please don't let me wreck this car... It's more money than I'll ever see in my lifetime. And probably previous lifetimes, combined.

The drive itself was... not really a joyride. Christa was too terrified to get even one mile-per-hour above the speed limit in such a fancy thing, and her knuckles were white while gripping the steering wheel. Such anxiety, traveling to a location using directions she wasn't familiar with, in a car worth more than her life. It was a slow, methodical approach, but the car arrived to the mansion without so much as a scratch.

Christa simply didn't do joyriding, even in a beater car.

Peeling her hands off the steering wheel, she managed to squeak, "...I am in need of a very. Stiff. Drink."

Uncurling her fingers that dug into the steering wheel, Christa breathed a very deep sigh of relief. It was almost as if she'd just survived the wildest rollercoaster of her life and needed a few moments to process the experience before giving Jada a halfway decent answer. "Whiskey. Whiskey would be lovely, thank you."

Christa didn't really drink too often, save for special circumstances. This was indeed a special circumstance, and she needed something to calm the electricity in her body.

Smoothing out the creases in her long skirt, the gray-haired woman dutifully followed raven-haired Jada through the labyrinthine halls of the mansion. Parts of it seemed wholly unfamiliar, but thinking back to their Blood Moon days, this must've been where they'd trained. It was all such a blur. Shoes clicked against expensive flooring, eyes admired the decor that lined the walls. Opulence, finery. Things most people would never seen up close.

"Jada," she started, voice evening out now that they were out of the car. "you had mentioned wards previously. You take care of someone's children for them? Or younger siblings? That must be exhausting, caring for young ones in addition to your senshi duties."

"...tea would be wonderful. Thank you."

The trek through the labyrinth of opulent halls was not lost on Christa, for she was appreciating just about every little detail her eyes landed upon. The finery of the molding along the walls, the curvature of the banisters lining the staircase rails, the deep wood of the impressively-carved doors. Everything in the house dripped class and expense.

Her voice dropped in empathy for Jada, casting her eyes downward. "I'm very sorry for your loss, Jada. It's never easy to lose a loved one, and to raise two children on top of that. I'm sure they're well cared for, under your watchful eyes." Folding her hands over her stomach, Christa let the subject drop, thinking perhaps Jada didn't wish to dwell on it any further.

Jada's question about her own family earned a quick nod. "One, a younger brother. He is also a senshi, I've come to find. A Super now, in fact. Still as robust and gregarious as ever, though I worry about his tendency to charge into things and find himself in over his head. I'd introduce you but... he's a bit..." Christa made a face, somewhere between humor and exasperation. "...crass."

And has a strange fascination with thug life, but that's a discussion for another day.

"...it seems as though the Calloway senshi all have a propensity towards... unusual spheres of power." A small chuckle followed, Christa attempting to make a joke.

“That’s what most parents do, Jada.” With a nod, Christa handled the teacup gently and was happy to follow the raven-haired woman. “Not all parents are as interested in their children’s welfare as you are. We lost our mother some six years ago. She found a home in another man’s bed. I’m afraid my brother hasn’t come to grips with that, even now.” She clicked a fingernail against the rim of the teacup absently as she walked. “...still, caring for them alone puts you quite a bit above some people who call themselves parents, and children notice. I’ve no doubt your wards notice your love for them, even if they are unable to express it.”

It had come to her mind more than once that the tough exterior Zachary had displayed outwardly was simply a mask to hide the pain of being abandoned by his mother. Christa had abandoned him too, in a way, in an effort to protect him from the war. Circumstance dictated otherwise, having Zach awaken as a senshi himself. While reunited, the siblings still had much to parse about their changing relationships.

Jada’s humor earned a short and soft laugh. “...very well, if you’d be so kind as to entertain him, I’ll introduce you. I’m sure he’d have a few things to say about krakens and footwear. His powers seem to stem from forgotten things, lost things. He’d fit in very well, I think.” Really, the three of them would make an interesting team, if only based on sphere alone. A creature that devoured full sailing ships, crew and all, before sinking back into the churning depths of the ocean… No doubt Zachary would have something decidedly less poetic to say. Her own abilities stemmed from insanity lurking deep within a person’s psyche. Themisto’s powers were less understood. Perhaps that would change, in time.

“You know, Jada, if I may.” came the beginnings of a request, though Christa stopped herself short, lest she become demanding and ruin her welcome. “...if your library is as beguiling as I believe it to be, you may not be able to rid yourself of me. I may have to commandeer a sleeping bag and hole myself in a corner. This may be dangerous.” Another soft, short laugh, but the smile remained.
