Torva had taken care of a small infestation of averin recently that were plaguing his troupe and now that they had been taken care of he had a new pet on his hands. The little male averin that he'd dubbed Eayolin had become of a fast friend with his vedra and the two of them were currently keeping him company as he went on an errand for his older brother.

Svana was on his left, within petting distance, while Eayolin sat perched on his shoulder. The both of them were watching as he went about juggling some practice balls that he had with him, "Getting better at keeping higher numbers in the air for longer." He told the pair of bird like beasts, amused at how the averin in particular was starring in a manner that involved little to no blinking on his part. He was probably considering theft, it wouldn't be the first time that the little critter had tried to make off with his stuff or that of other members of the troupe. Eoyolin's training was a work in progress at best.

Giving a little smile he set to trying to toss the balls a little higher as he went. He had room on either side of him and a lot above, so he wasn't worried about hitting anything. Yet.

Yokka wrinkled her nose as she flipped the paper over in her hands. It was a ship design she had done last night while half asleep, and she was mentally tearing the image apart. The hull shape would only add drag and slow it down.. the bow was too heavy.. how was that mast supposed to stay upright.. and what was the point of that disk on the rear? Goodness, what was going through her mind last night?! Certainly fanciful and nothing more.

A bit of atypical movement caught her attention, making her look up from the paper. With one eye hidden behind a thick curtain of bangs, she peered at the lightning boy curiously. "What're you doing that for?" she asked, purely curious for the answer.

Turning his head slowly he found himself starring over at a Geian woman, possibly his age or younger? Turning slowly to face her he gave her his best smile, continuing to juggle the balls that he had still in the air, and said, "Mostly to practice doing it with more and more balls? I'm no where near as good as my older brother so I figure I just need to put in more in the way of practice to catch up." Tylarl had a level of natural dexterity that he was lacking, meaning he had to put in a lot more time.

Taking a couple more steps forward to close some of the distance between the two of them he asked, "How are you doing?" He wasn't sure if he'd ever seen her before at one of the troupe's shows but given there were a lot of people that came to watch them he could have easily missed her.

Head cocking slightly, Yokka remained still as the boy walked closer. Were the balls something special? Was it magic? "Do they serve some sort of purpose?" she asked, leaning in herself to look closer. "Are they magic? Containers?" Oh, wait, he'd asked her a question.

"I am fine," she said, glancing down at the paper. With another wrinkle of her nose, she crumpled it into a ball and held it out. "Can you do that with a ball like this? It doesn't weight as much as those you have seem to."

"Mostly entertainment value." He said, then chuckled as she asked him if they were magical or actual containers, "Naw, these ones are just regular old balls since they are just meant for practice. There are some back home that can hold things but these are just plain ones." He found himself thinking about what she mentioned, about magic, wondering if if there was a way for him to figure out how to juggle concentrated magic. That was definitely something to try out later for sure.

As the girl offered him a paper ball he starred at it and then said, "Hmm... I suppose I could try? Here, toss it up with the others and I will try to add it to the mix." The difference in weight would up the difficulty, which could make it interesting... if he could pull it off.

Entertainment value... Well, there was indeed some value in such a thing. Everyone needed some entertainment at some point. She nodded in understanding, watching the boy's movement pattern for a moment. "Okay." Concentrating, she attempted to toss the paper ball at an open hand for the boy to catch. "If this doesn't work, you should try it with more paper balls rather than those ones." That would be interesting to see.

Torva watched the paper ball as it was tossed to him and he did his best to keep it going in the air along with the others. It lasted for a few moments but the difference in weight between the normal balls and the one paper one threw his rhythm off and soon enough all of them were scattering around them. Torva was able to catch the paper ball and two others as they fell and instantly his two pets were scattering to follow the rest. Svana started to bring them back to him one at a time while Eoyolin just played with the first one that he found.

After a moment Torva started to laugh and said, "I don't think I'm quite ready to do that sort of trick yet." He admitted to the Geian girl in front of him, sounding more amused then anything over the failed attempt. Giving a smile he said, "That was the second idea you've given me for a new trick though so I should definitely thank you for that."

Giving a little bow he said, "My name is Torva! May I have the pleasure of knowing yours?"

Watching the balls and animals scatter, she waited a moment before laughing as well. So cute to watch them scurry around like that! The appreciative tone caught her by surprise though, and she looked at the boy curiously. Entertainment of his kind was not quite her forte, so being told she had worthwhile ideas for him was a bit of a treat. "You're welcome, then~" she said with a giggle.

After another brief hesitation, she smiled and stuck out her hand. "It's Yokka. Nice to meet you, Torva." After that, she bent to pick up one of the balls that had been brought over for inspection. "So these are just for practice? What are the real ones like?"

After all of the balls, save for the one that his averin was playing with, he tucked them all away into the pack at his side. He gave a little smile before he started to toss the paper ball up into the air repeatedly. His smile became a grin as she said 'your welcome' to his thanks, finding that to be rather cute. After a few more tosses of the paper ball he noticed that the paper wasn't blank, something that made him a bit curious as to what she'd handed him.

"Yokka? That's a pretty name. It's good to meet you, Yokka." He said, opening up the ball so that he could look it over, "Ooooh, you're an artist? Neat."

As she asked him about the 'real ones' he gave a humming sound, "Well, my brother Tylarl can juggle all manner of things, even knives! Our father can do the same since most of his shows involve knife work. Juggling them, tossing them at targets, that sort of thing."

Yokka's cheeks warmed the tiniest bit. She wasn't used to such compliments on something like her name. "Thank you," she murmured a little softer. As the paper was unrolled though, she rolled her eyes to the sky in irritation at herself. "I'm trying to design a new water ship, but I might as well have been drunk when I drew out that one. You can keep using it for your animals if they want to play with it." She had decided it was crap, and so it was time to move on; which she did fairly readily.

"Knives?!" Yokka gasped. She couldn't imagine someone tossing knives around like Torva had been with those balls just moments ago. "Are you going to follow your father, or are you looking to juggle something different?"

Torva gave a bit of a chuckle before he shook his head, "Naw, that is more something that my father and brother are doing. I want the skill set on hand just in case I want to use it for tricks, but I don't do knives. Guns are more by thing, I do trick shooting like my grandfather does."

He walked over to her and plopped down in front of the girl, "So! You're designing boats. Do you work in the Academy?" Was she a boat maker? What were they called again? Oh! Right! A shipwright! So was she one of those? That sounded like it would be a rather neat job... though she hadn't really sounded happy with the picture that she'd drawn on the paper she tossed him.

"Do you just make sailing ships? Or do you also work on the airships?" He asked curiously.

"I don't think I ever saw anyone trick shooting," she hummed, tapping a finger to her lips. It sounded interesting enough.

Of course, her visible eye lit up at the mention of the boats and she plopped down as well with a smile. "Not at the academy, but I'd like to go there some day. I want to build water ships that are more efficient and faster, ones that can carry loads of people, and ones that are meant for one person only. The airships are already finding new lands, but traveling on the sea to seek out what's out there.. it's just so much more wonderful to travel by sea. And can you imagine if we were able to explore under the water in a ship? There's so much that hasn't been explored yet with the water, and-" realizing she had gone off on a delighted tangent, she smirked and cut herself off. "So, yeah, I try designing ships for the water."

"It's a pretty fun way to spend time! The looks on people's faces when my grandfather does his tricks, that is what I want one day. I just have to put in a lot more practice of that sort as well." It would take him a bit of doing but he felt that with time he'd be able to one day be like his grandfather... though he might be closer to his father's age or older by then.

As the girl started to describe her own job he gave a smile, resting his hands in his lap, as he listened. She was pretty similar to him, the manner in which her whole person seemed to light up with she spoke. She was a bit more ambitious then he was though, huh? She wanted to build new sorts of boats for people for travel, both big and small, which sounded cool enough. When she mentioned traveling under the water though he went wide eyed.

"Wow! Under water ships? That would be amazing! I bet it would make it easier for those that gather scrap from the ocean, huh?" It had to be easier then just diving for the stuff, surely? He gave a smile and said, "I wish you luck in figuring out such a ship, I'd love to take a ride on it."

"Everything takes practice," she said with a sage nod. "I'm sure that if your heart is in it, you'll be able to do whatever you want. Sounds like you have the right blood for the work." Work on Belrea was steeped with family traditions, for sure.

Seeing the boy's interest piqued, her smile lit up again. "I know! It would open up so much opportunity for everyone!" The possibilities were endless... Her brow rose slightly before nodding enthusiastically. "Everyone's gonna hear about it when it's done, so I'll be seeing if you come. ..I mean, I'm still nowhere near getting that done, but someday it will be."

She pointed to the ball still being played with. "And good luck to you. I'll be sure to listen around for your show."

Giving a nod of his head Torva said, "It's most definitely in my blood, my family as been in entertainment business forever. As such I feel that I'm definitely cut out for it. I just needed to figure out exactly where my niche was." It wasn't juggling or knife throwing but guns, that was something he was pretty good at! Something he was good at, enjoyed doing, and was always trying to come up with new tricks for.

"Huh, yeah! That's true. I can't see an underwater boat being something that isn't talked about all of Belrea over. I'm sure no matter where we are at the time of it's creation we will likely hear about it." Hearing about something and actually getting to ride on it though, those were two very different things. Here was to hoping she'd bring him for a ride on her underwater boat someday... or even the floating ones. He was good either way.

"It's not easy to miss us. I mean just imagine a ton of people pretty similar to me in skill set but of a mix of the Lightning and Geian tribes." He said with a smile before he said, "The troupe is called Wanderlust Bizarre!"
