Ever since the Amazon. Ever since Camp Lucy. Joy had been wondering what exactly was Sammy? The bad-a** zombie chick knew hunters and probably not the way Joy would, say, know about some of the students. Asking Rep was obviously out of the question. Which left only one other person. It was a long time coming, this talk between Joy and Jordan.
She'd sent him a private message on twitter, asking if she could ask him a couple of things and he'd been nice enough to agree. It would be quick, Joy decided, she didn't want to waste the Senior hunter's time with something that might be above her pay grade.
She did bring some coffee (without telling Clyde) as an offering. "It's really strong coffee. From the Philippines." she added, holding a bag of barako blend.

"Oh, that's nice," Jordan said, and accepted the bag. He stepped back from the door. "Come on in. I'll make some of this," he added, turning to go over to the tiny kitchen area in the room, which seemed to exist mainly to contain a large coffee machine. The room was still a mess, in various stages of repair, but he'd cleared up the bedroom and kitchen first. Priorities.
The couch was covered by a sheet, but looked suspiciously un-couch-shaped. The small table in the kitchen was missing, but the chairs seemed to be in usable shape. "Sorry it's a mess," Jordan said, sounding vaguely embarrassed, in spite of the fact that almost everyone had had some degree of damage to their rooms and property.

"Hey no prob~" Joy assured him, 'Horsemen did a number on my flat too. We need to replace some of the appliances and the cost to runic new ones're mos def gonna hurt my savings," she laughed because apparently humor was the only way Joy could handle her difficulties.
"You don't gotta go through to the trouble, promise!" she added, not wanting to add to the clean up burden. "I'll be quick so's you can get back to more important things."

"The coffee machine survived, but my laptop was on my desk, and that got completely trashed," Jordan sighed. "That's not going to be cheap." He set the bag of coffee down on the counter and put a new filter into the machine, then paused and looked back at her. "You sure? I probably would've made some anyway. So what's up?"

Joy nodded, "Yeppers, I'm sure. And ah, it's not really a something's up issue. More like something I was thinking about off and on again." She sounded nervous, which was a rather unusual thing for Joy who'd always just barreled through life without a shred of fear or worry. But life as a Hunter had a way of changing people, and with that last "dream," simulations and alternate lives that felt richer and more real than the one you had, well, Joy couldn't come out of that unscathed.
"Is Sammy, I mean was she a hunter that died and then came back as a zombie?" It was probably a stupid question, hence the rather soft voice she used to ask it with.

"I -- what? Not that I know of," Jordan said, taken entirely off guard by the question. He blinked. It was possible. Maybe. He didn't know. "Why do you ask?" He had an inkling, though; Sammy seemed unusually familiar with hunters, and unusually cooperative, so it wasn't an illogical conclusion to draw from the evidence.

Joy shrugged, suddenly unable to look at Jordan in the eye, "That time in the Amazon, and then meeting up with her again in Camp Lucy. It was just, idunno," She rubbed at the back of her head, "I'm probably just making assuming." the laughter was forced and a little hollow, "Or hell, even if she was, that info's probs like, probably above my pay grade or something. I hope me asking won't get you into trouble!" The panic was obvious in her eyes as she looked up at the senior hunter.

"Did she seem familiar to you?" Jordan asked, genuinely curious. "If she was, I really don't have that information myself." He looked around his room. "Shouldn't get me in trouble. I don't think there's any cameras in here. Or if there were, they probably got trashed along with everything else. Still, if you have something sensitive to discuss in future, it's probably best to do it outdoors."

"Well, not physically, no?" Joy's chuckles were less nervous at this. "I'm pretty sure I'd remember any red-head I've met in the past. All of the peeps I grew up with either had black or really dark brown hair. The blondes and lighter haired were forenjers."
She looked away again, focusing on the coffee maker, "Don't worry. I don't get involved enough in anything that'd be considered sensitive." the self-deprecating thing was as natural a defense as humor and often went hand in hand.

"Do you mean her attitude, then? When I first met her, she was fairly hostile toward hunters, but over time she's become more friendly towards us, willing to work together against larger threats," Jordan said. He gave her a thoughtful look. "It falls in your lap sometimes," he said. "It's just safer to assume that there may be some risk of being recorded indoors. For future information."

"So there's, like, a possibility Deus is gonna come up with a way for us to infiltrate the Horsemen and become actual Horsemen?" the words were out of her mouth before she even realized what she said. Let alone the implications of her words.
Her weapon, however, saw and understood where his bonded was coming from and was immensely displeased.

"What?" Jordan blinked at Joy, once again caught entirely off guard by a question. "I don't think there's any way for that to happen." The question began to sink in then, and the implications unfolded slowly. Jordan's confused expression changed to something more guarded, though not unsympathetic. He took a moment to consider his wording. "It wasn't all horrible, was it." His tone made it more a statement than a question.

It took some seconds after Joy spoke for her to realize what exactly she'd just asked. Her eyes widened in horror at first, hands flying her mouth and preparing to bolt in case the response from Jordan was less than ideal.
But he didn't yell at her or summon his weapon (though that expectation said more about Joy's own background than the senior sun hunter) and Joy's stance became less of a cornered animal.
She nodded, eyes downcast in shame and guilt, "Having those wings was pretty astig," she tried to joke but the lack of eye contact suggested it had been more than about being able to fly.

Jordan nodded a little, taking in Joy's reaction. She'd been happy in her other life, perhaps, and coming back to reality was less than ideal. "Have you ever been involved in one of the, ah, situations in which you get a glimpse of another self before?" he asked her.

"Well there was that time when I was in armor? I don't remember anything besides that. Does Wonderland count?" there was a wistful lilt at the mention, "I realized I was podded because of Wonderland."
Come to think maybe it didn't count. "Sammy mentioned stuff like that, Legacies in s**t over in Camp Lucy." She was trying to get the conversation back to Sammy, because wasn't she why Joy was here in the first place?
