Entei
Name: Davos
Owner: belloblossom
About: Davos is a guardian through and through. With a particular soft spot for minis and foals, he travels the lands, ready to assist those who are unable to help themselves. With an overly protective personality and a gentle gruffness with those he considers family, he is strongly associated as the "father figure" of a group. Unsurprisingly, he enjoys this role and has even taken to whisking away unwanted baskets to take with him to raise. He has a big heart and is a softie when you get to know him. While it's true his initial meeting with you might be a little startling between the armor and the sword he has strapped to him, be not afraid. Davos will not harm someone who has done no wrong. If you have no ill will to hide, you have nothing to fear. However, should you cross him or anyone he is close to, you will soon find why they call his temper volcanic. It starts with a low rumbling growl, something that should never be produced from an equine's throat and then he will roar at you with a force so strong it could shake the earth you stand on.

If that doesn't have you running, then you should see him fight. It will likely be the last thing you ever see, but it's still something to marvel at, despite the circumstances.

Suicune
Name: Enki
Owner: VelvetVixie
About: Enki is a spiritual healer and is eager to help those Soquili who might need the cleansing of their aura. She travels the currents in the water, throughout the Kawani lands and when she senses an aura that seems to be at a state of unrest she stops and surfaces from the stream where she senses the aura to be the strongest.

From there she starts to perform a purification ritual to help cleanse the restless spirit of the spirit in question. During the purification rituals, the intensity and sincerity of her prayers would cause surrounding natural elements to come to aide her and the spirit she was purifying. Through the powers of her prayers, the natural surrounding elements would settle peacefully back into place, and the restless spirit would be able to pass peacefully into the afterlife.

Enki then would continue back on her journey of the lands diving back under the waters surface, and follow the currents that lead her along the way of her predestined path.

Raikou
Name: Calendula
Owner: Zakiax
About: For as long as she can remember Calendula has always been quite the sickly little pony. What ails her has never been determine, even after several different opinions that answer was the same. Calendula has tried so many different herb and medicine combinations through out her youth but still her dizzy and fainting spells occur. This is what drove her to learn about herbs and medicine and experiment with them in hopes that one day she would fine a cure for herself.

Calendula travels constantly looking for new ingredients for her own concoctions. Forever alone it would seem, as she fears whatever she has will take her from this land one day and does not wish to bother others with her own sickness. That and she fears that it might be passed off to another.

In her travels she has cured many other's ails and treated many wounds. As treating her own sickness has lead her down the path of being an herbalist. Raikou does enjoy treating others as it does give her some sense of hope that she too can be cured one day.

Story:
In the beginning, the three that would later be called the dynamic trio had no inkling of their entwined fates. They were no more aware of one another's presence than a hiker would be of the creatures on a separate mountain. They supposed others must exist, naturally, but it was a while before they met with any of them. Many inquire about how the trio met one another and only those involved can tell the tale accurately, despite the variations told by others.

It started with a sneeze. A very loud sneeze that echoed off of the trees in the forest and caused bird to take to the air. Davos had been in the area when it occurred, enjoying the spring flowers and the clear afternoon. He raised his head abruptly when he heard the sound and looked around with a mixture of interest and concern. What could be the size of a creature who possessed such a deep sound? He would have continued on his way, for he wasn't looking for any trouble from such a beast, when a shrill scream came to his ears.

Davos had rushed over to the source and found a towering bear looming over a small, yellow Usdia. He grabbed his sword from its sheath and charged forward boldly, stomping his hooves and slicing the air in front of him with his sword. The bear came forward and with a mighty cry, he tore into the lumbering, angry creature and it tumbled to the ground, Davos' sword in its heart.

He then turned to find the small equine still behind him and she sniffled loudly under her mask. He admired her for not running the face of danger, he thought while aloud he asked.
"Are you alright, Miss? Whatever could have prompted that bear to attack you like that?"

The Usdia seemed to regain herself at his questions and ducked her head a little.
"Oh, well, uh... I guess I woke it up." She shifted her hooves. "I, uh, sneezed and then it came out of its cave all irritable, so I, uh, screamed... That made it worse..." She looked up at Davos sheepishly, but her gaze fell onto his shoulder. "Oh, you're hurt!"

Davos looked down at where she was looking at and saw a small gash in his shoulder,
which was dripping with blood. He blinked in surprise; he hadn't even noticed it. He was about to assure the small Miss that her concern was appreciated, but he wasn't in any harm, when she started rummaging through a small satchel on her person. From there she procured a small leaf that reflected the sunlight, almost as though there was water on it. She took it gently in her lips and then strained to press the leaf onto Davos' shoulder.

"There," She said proudly, "The sap on that leaf has healing properties and will keep the leaf where it is, provided you don't move around too much."

"That's incredible." Davos echoed. "I had no idea I had stumbled on such a talented healer." The mare beamed at his praise, but then her expression soured. "What's wrong?"

"If I was such a great healer, I'd be able to heal myself." She said, her voice now bitter.

Davos' protective instinct was kicking in full throttle. A small mare was enough to get him to feel the need to keep her safe, but a sickly, small mare? That was too much for him to handle. She sniffled and went on to tell him about her mysterious ailment. She explained the mask she wore, which was to prevent any of her sickness to pass onto anyone else.

"I don't know if it's contagious or not, but I'm not about to let another get sick because I wasn't careful enough." As she talked, Davos interrupted once to ask if she would accompany him to a nearby river, so that he could wash the blood from his sword. She had nodded and shortly there after she had finished her story and asked his name.

"Do forgive me, Miss. My name is Davos and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Indeed, he had never felt such an instant connection with someone. Protectiveness was a usual occurrence with the gentle-hearted stallion, but he never had felt such a need to be near this golden mare before.

"The pleasure is mine, Davos." His companion replied and he saw the smile in her eyes. "I am Calendula. Though, you can call me Cal, if you would like. None of this 'Miss' stuff. Just Cal."

"Cal, it is, Mis-" He smiled and shook his head. "Apologies. Old habits die hard." And so he began to wash his blade, watching the blood wash downstream. To make conversation, he began to tell his friend of his travels and ask her where she had come from, when another shrill scream reached both of their ears.

"Angeni above, another one?!" Davos exclaimed, snatching up his sword and darted off,
with Calendula close on his heels. When they reached the sound, they found another small mare, this one a Seathi. She was squirming uncomfortably in the water and Davos soon saw why. The blood he had washed off his blade just moments before had floated downstream and some of it had washed onto this poor mare who was mumbling incoherently.

Calendula leaped over the river with a most impressive jump, meeting where the other mare was curled up close to a rock on the other side.
"Hey, it's okay. I've got some salves that'll help that icky stuff come right off." Calendula cooed softly, ever the gentle healer. She was reaching into another pouch as she said this and Davos began to sheathe his sword.

"The bear is in pain!" Came the shrill cry of the Seathi, causing both Davos and Calendula to look at her, surprised.

"The... bear?" Calendula replied slowly. "How do you...?" She followed the Seathi's gaze to the sword that Davos held uncertainly and squinted at it. She couldn't see anything worth making a fuss about.

"The bear is in a dark, dark place." The Seathi replied in a fretful voice. "I need to help him cross over!" And suddenly she was crossing the river, leaving Calendula looked irked at being stuck on the other side and planted her front hooves on the shore. With a shove,
she hoisted herself forward and knocked the blade from Davos' mouth.

"Watch out!" He cried as it fell, but the aquatic mare was unharmed and bent over the blade, murmuring to it incoherently. Suddenly the water around her started to sparkle and a breeze picked up that hadn't been there a second ago. Even Davos' blade began to glow. Unsure of what to expect, Davos and Calendula looked on in awe as the Seathi mare whispered in languages they didn't understand to a voice they couldn't hear. When whatever she had done had passed, the breeze disappeared, the river water ran smooth and Davos' blade lay on the shore before her, the same dull gold it had always been.

"The bear's spirit is now at rest." The mare sighed with relief, but looked up sharply at Davos. "But you have no business playing with the natural balance of life like that!" She scolded him. "That bear could have turned into a vengeful spirit and haunted you for eternity, I'll have you know!"

Davos was stunned as he stared at the tiny blue mare. He didn't know what to say to her. Luckily, Calendula did.
"Hey, hey, hey, now. She came in, having managed to jump again, ever impressively, to the other bank. "He was coming to my rescue. If he hadn't, I would have been bear food and maybe I would end up the vengeful spirit, okay? We're sorry we, uh, freaked you out, but you can't go accusing someone of something terrible without knowing the context!"

The Seathi looked humbled by the fiery personality of her fellow mini mare and looked up apologetically at Davos.
"I am sorry." She said. "It has been some time since I have been with others in my company, I am... Out of practice with my manners." She looked so sorry about the harshness of her words that Davos' heart melted and he shook it off.

"Don't worry, Miss...?" "Enki."

From there it was a series of introductions and questions. Calendula helped wash off the blood that had adhered itself to Enki's scales and Davos retold the tale of how he and Cal had met earlier that day. When it passed the time that they would have said goodbye to one another, but had yet to do so, Davos finally couldn't keep his thoughts to himself any longer.

"Forgive me if I seem out of place, but I can't bring myself to part ways with either of you. I feel as thought we were meant to meet and to, well, stay together." Calendula let out a sigh of relief.

"Oh thank goodness, I thought I was going crazy! I've never felt this way about anyone, but I feel like I just, sort of, belong with you guys!" She said in a rush, excitement in her eyes.

Enki nodded her head solemnly, despite the smile she sported.
"Yes, it appears that we were fated to meet this day and that the universe is telling us we must stick together. In which case, I would be most grateful if you two would accompany me upstream. There are sure to be more spirits that need my help and I can't think of a better pair: a gifted healer and swordstallion, to help me in my journey." There were two nods in enthusiastic agreement and as the trio started down their path, Calendula sneezed.

Fanatical Shapeshifter

PostPosted: Tue Jul 11, 2017 6:12 pm

Entei
Name: Entei
Owner: Fatal Irony
About:
A stallion of few words and stoic demeanor, he's content enough taking orders from his smaller compatriots.  His past is shrouded in mystery, as he doesn't speak much about himself or his life before falling in with the pair of minis he travels with.  He's sly behind his silence, calculating in his risks.  He follows his own strict set of rules he lives by, happy to profit from the band's marauding so long as the innocent aren't hurt and no one is killed.  The majority of the time he is stoic and silent, but he has another side - one of rage.  He can become a monster when provoked, and a force to be reckoned with.  He is the muscle of the group, useful whenever brute force is necessary.  Not one for negotiating, he's more useful for intimidation.

Suicune
Name: Suicune
Owner: stormflower
About: Sui could be in short can be described as 'stuck-up'; as this is the mask she wears. She doesn’t care about anyone or anything, just herself….or so she has everyone believe. She refuses to talk about her past and is a cold silent mare with a heart covered in ice. Despite her cold shoulder she somehow is the leader of these ever differing souls. She wont lie though, she likes being the one in charge and calling the shots, but not that she will say this out loud. Instead she will complain about her companions and having to be stuck with them but stays with them as they would be utterly lost without her and they are just a convenience to her.

In truth she is afraid to be alone and acts completely differently to how she feels, she does care for her companions greatly and in their travels they seek to aid never to harm, but this doesn’t speak for her past. Not that you would hear any of this from her.

Raikou
Name: Sparkler Rai
Owner: Malikztiah Ankhwave
About: A firecracker, through and through. Sparkler enjoys nothing more than provoking a rise out of her companions- or anyone, for that matter. She'll needle her way in and watch, picking out just the right thing to do or say once she's wormed her way in. Whatever action she takes really depends on the day, and even the time of said day. She'll take a laugh, a smile, an angry yell to "back off" it doesn't matter. As long as she's gotten them to react, she's already won. It doesn't hurt that her companions are just so much fun to prod and wheedle away at, certainly. Their intrepid little leader's so easy to rile up sometimes, she gets a blast out of it. The big strong Entei however, he's much more of a challenge and she revels in every minute. Each and every reaction she manages to coerce out of him? That's a victory in her book. Yeah, she'll keep them; there's no way they'll be able to shake her now that she's nice and attached. Woe be to any others she sets her eyes on, because three isn't a crowd. Neither is four, or five, or even seven.

Story:

*Note: Their 'special abilities'-namely Suicunes- used are cannon and outside of the soquili universe(I do believe anyways). This story takes place before ever coming close to the Soquili lands.

This trio of oddly shaped misfits somehow have been together for a long time. But with such differing personalities how do they make it work?

Suicune traveled the lands, always searching for something but what, she wasn’t sure. Her clan had the gift of purification, this gift helped her make a living as she traveled. Truthfully though she was lonely but she wouldn’t let on of her true feelings. She was aloof even when helping the various herds and villages she past but she always did so for a price. Nothing was free, not even clean air and water when it came to Sui.

Some called her snobbish but she didn’t care, she had to look after herself to survive no matter how others viewed her. One day though as she was traveling she ran into a poisonous group; one she had been cleaning up after. They didn’t like her cleaning up their beautiful waste and trapped her. She was powerless to stop them with so many polluting the area around her. It was then a striking small mare came to her rescue.

Rai as she would be come known had been traveling herself and had seen what Sui had been doing and it intrigued her and she decided to follow, she thought Sui looked 'fun'. Not sure of what fully drew her to Sui she deemed her 'stalk worthy'. When she saw the trouble Sui found herself in she had to act. Rai had always been told she had a booming voice so what better way to get a great reaction then to play off it.

Rai waited until everyone was distracted and was able to catch Suicuine's attention just in time for her to cover her ears. It was then Rai let out a BOOMING sound for such a small frame, singing as loud as she could. The group tried to cover their ears, a couple fainted and the other slowly staggered away clutching at their ears. Suicune was appalled but thankful at the same time for her rescuer.... as much as loathed to admit it.

Suicune eventually gave her a short thank you when Rai bombarded her with questions on where she was going, why, and where she was from. Suicune refused to answer any of them but Rai continued to push until finally Suicune said she was free to follow her if she wanted, but not that she cared. So then there were 2 though Suicune will still say she regrets the decision on letting her tag along.

Somehow months went by and Suicune and Rai still traveled together, much to Suciune's annoyance, though in truth she enjoyed the company.... at least half the time. As they traveled they continued to help those in need, Suicune demanding payment for her services of coarse. They traveled across many different lands and came across many different groups, but the current land Sui wasn’t comfortable in at all. This land was HOT, very little water and she wanted to get through it as quick as possible.

Little did the two know they were being followed the minute they entered this hot land. A band of thieves had heard rumors of the two traveling and disgustingly helping others. They wanted none of it in their land, so they laid a trap for the seemingly leader of the group as she was the opposite in nature to them and hoped they could sell her to the highest bidder. Both ladies could fetch a nice price as exotic as they were.

Sui and Rai were unsuspecting and had received a request with jewels as pre-payment to go to the lake that was said to be badly polluted. They arrived at the lake and cleared off the liter, but aside from that the lake seemed fine. It was then they turned to leave and Sui found herself unable to move, trapped in a net of all things(Absolutely degrading). Luckily the rope meant for Rai missed and Sui yelled for her to escape. Rai did so reluctantly but ran as fast as lightning and immediately went to find help.

Elsewhere, a large stallion roamed the lands with no set destination. He couldn’t help but notice two small mares enter the hot lands. He had heard whispers of two such mares traveling together, it was easy to spot them as they were rather noticeable in their differences. He found himself following them from quite a distance but following none the less. It didn’t take long for him to find them in trouble however and knew he had to act.

He watched the yellow mare escape, looking for help no doubt so he trotted after her. He lost sight of her, only for her to then find him. She didn’t have to say a word as he started walking back to wear Sui had been captured. Together they developed a plan to distract the now kidnappers, with Rai doing most of the talking. When the time came Rai let out a booming shout which drew the kidnappers attention as the stallion charged forward at the few that remained guard, the earth seemed to tremble under his hooves as he headed for them.

Sui watched as if she was a spectator, she was steaming at the ordeal but couldn’t be happier to see Rai, not that she would admit it to her. Her ears were ringing from her loud boom which she would gladly berate Rai for later. She was interested in this bounding stallion that was also coming to her aid, he was quite something…rather useful she mused to herself. It all seemed to be over in a flash! Rai rushed to her side and checked over her to make sure she was unharmed. Rai always seemed to go a million miles a minute, but Sui actually let a smile escape briefly before waving her off finally.

Entei, as the stallion had introduced himself, acknowledged Sui's thanks as Rai quickly said he should join them. Sui gave a stern look to Rai, but seeing the pleading look in her eyes conceded. Sui stated he could tag along for a bit as long as he remained useful. Entei simply nodded his head and they have been together ever since. They travel and help others for a price(on most occasions), if they come across others in distress they do what they can to help though Sui may groan outwardly about it. They have recently come across new lands known as the Kawanii Lands, what new adventures lie in wait?

Entei
Name: Camlann
Owner: HoneyTeaTree
About: A mercenary with morality, Camlann doesn't ask for compensation when he joins a cause. He chooses the side he believes is most deserving of his aid and fights for them to sway the flow of battle. He's fought in countless conflicts, even in the Kalona war, and has the skills to prove his worth as a mercenary. Camlann believes himself to be a bringer of balance to forces of good and evil, thus why he picks as chooses who he lends his sword to, and he may not always pick to fight for those that others believe to be the "right" side. In battle he is fierce, calculating, and unforgiving but outside of battle and war, he can be quite affable once you get past his stoic shell.

Camlann originally hailed from a more mountainous region, an unforgiving and cruel place where the peaks were jagged and sharp and the air could chill bones. It was there he learned to fight and trained in swordsmanship as well as physical combat. His people were known for their travelling warriors and that's often what most of them left to do, as did he once he came of age.

He traveled for many years, participating in many conflicts along the way as he developed his skills as a moral sellsword, before finally encountering Lunette. The usdia has insisted on tending to the fresh wounds he sustained from the most recent encounter and rather than send her off unsuccessful, Camlann reluctantly caved and allowed Lunete to treat his injuries. Somehow the mare had managed to heal scars that he had long accepted to be part of his physical appearance and Camlann couldn't help but inquire if she would be interested in travelling along side him. While quite sufficient in the art of war, he had never been particularly gifted in the way of healing and most wounds he sustained were washed with water and left to the air. How he had survived so long with such careless hygienic practices is a marvel in and of itself.

Camlann never allowed Lunete near the battlefield. He refused to allow her in such a dangerous position since growing a soft spot for his travelling companion and would often leave her in the care of nearby herds while he went off to fight and continue to keep the balance of good and evil. Sometimes it would be months before he returned to retrieve her, sometimes years would pass, but he would always return. Camlann had grown attached to Lunete and found that a brotherly instinct drove him to protect her and let no harm come to her.

While he now resides at the cenote with Lunete and Avalon, he still goes off to the world beyond their jungle to join battles and wars, but he always returns to them, just as he did when it was just him and Lunete. Camlann owes Lunete and Avalon a life debt that he can never return the favor for and he knows that protecting the cenote from outsiders is a paltry service for his saved life.

Suicune
Name: Avalon
Owner: Mahogany Sunset
About: Avalon is a judgmental mare. She waves off anyone she deems unworthy of the plant's abilities and is not easily swayed back to a good opinion. And while she knows it will not heal all wounds, many come to her thinking it will, but alas, it does not. She is kind to those who are at a loss for any other cure, and with Lunete's help, will often offer another remedy, instead.

Avalon and Lunete have become close friends since the arrival of Camlann and Lunete, confiding in each other and encouraging each other. She finds serenity in Lunete's soft, soothing songs. While Avalon is still wary of Camlann, she has great respect for him - especially after how strong he stayed for the duration of his injury. She appreciates him and his defense of their small paradise. They work closely together when threats come to the cenote, whether the threats are greedy travelers or hungry predators. As very few expect an attack from the water, especially by such a tiny creature, Camlann and Avalon have set up traps and defenses to protect the sacred plant and Lunete. If worst comes to worst, Avalon is wholly prepared to sacrifice herself to save Lunete and the sacred plant. She has back up plans in place to save the plant from extinction, which will be carried out by Camlann and Lunete and her pod.

History:

Avalon was born and raised in a small pod of seathi charged with a sacred task - but it was a secret to even most of them, many of whom were charged with guarding the priests and priestesses. In the temple cave, the priests and priestesses prepared the herd's main source of income, a holy and precious underwater plant. The order said that it was sacred because it glowed, but Avalon, nor the rest of the herd, were ever able to witness it. The plant, they said, could only be viewed by the holy order, because any other gaze would kill the plant, so delicate was it. While Avalon was never sure that she completely believed this, she passively defended the order with her family and friends whenever the pirates came, never deigning to become a friend of the greedy herd.

One day, a group of ravenous kelpi were attracted to the pod, as they had followed a raiding group of pirates. These kelpi, gone feral and wild in their isolation from a populated world, found the vulnerable order at their work in the temple cave. By the time the rest of the pod had finished fending off the pirates, there was not a soul left of the holy order, except for Avalon's great-uncle, who had joined the order when he was just a yearling. With his last words, he told the young mare to seek out a "marbled cave."

Broken and grieving from the loss of many family and friends, Avalon threw her knowledge of the sacred plant to the wayside, preferring to ignore that it had ever existed - and therefore, that its presence had led to the deaths of her friends in that small cave.

But the attack had not ended: those who survived the assault by the retreating kelpi were grievously wounded, and only the plant, which had before been mostly a source of income for the herd, once again needed to be harvested. The plant cured ills from water, from the sea, anaerobic infection. Either she must harvest the plant, or lose more friends. So Avalon sought out the plant, but it was no easy task: she had never seen its glow before, nor its fronds in full form. It took days to find the "marbled cave," but marbled it was. Walls set with limestone glowed in the moonlight of a cenote, and deep down, at the bottom of the pool she'd found her way into, a pale blue glow shone up from the sand.

Careful not to look at the plant, just in case the order was correct and it would shrivel at the gaze of anyone unworthy, Avalon plucked three fronds and brought them back to the pod. When she arrived, they still glowed - and since then, she has been in charge of keeping the cenote's supply healthy and the pod's supply well-stocked.

Raikou
Name: Lunete
Owner: Junglerunner
About: Lunete spends most of her time caring for her small garden in the middle of the Cenote the trio call home. The jungle is not Lunete’s native home but it’s where she now resides. Lunete is a healer and many of the herbs and plants she trained with in her native homelands won’t survive the more warm climate on the land surrounding the cenote, which is why she has formed the garden on the island in the middle of the cenote where it has it’s own little micro climate. She has begun to talk to the locals in the jungle and is starting to learn about the native plants, harvesting them from the jungle under the ever watchful eyes is Camlann.

Lunete is most comfortable when in her tiny garden, paddling through the shallow waters of the cenote or walking anywhere with Camlann. Lunete however becomes very edgy when Camlann is not around, she feels unprotected in a foreign land, even after several years she misses his presence when he is off offering his services as a mercenary. She has spoken with Avalon about this, who has convinced Lunete it’s more because she loves Camlann and worries what will become of him when away which she has to admit is closer to the truth. Lunete tries to bury her unrequited love by filling her time with gardening and offering her services as a healer to the local Soquili. On larger campaigns Lunete still travels from the security of the cenote to follow Camlann, offering her services to both her friend and also nursing others on the front lines. Lunete enjoys practicing her trade and keeping up her skills working alongside other healers.

Lunete can often be found singing to herself; she is gentle and loving soul who sings softly to her plants and hums as she goes about her work. Her humming is soothing to her patients which she does unconsciously most of the time but also when at home Lunete will often sit at the edge of her garden and sings songs to Avalon. Lunete has a strong friendship with Avalon and works with her friend to produce the powder from the sacred kelp Avalon protects and farms in the depts of the cenotes waters. She takes the kelp and dries it in the sun before turning it into a powder, fresh fronds are often more effective however they don’t keep well, Lunete has attempted bottling them in some of the cenotes water, but she has found the powder travels better. Lunete doesn’t advertise the use of the sacred plant and uses it sparingly, promising Avalaon to keep wider knowledge of the plant and it’s location secret.

Story:
In the far South East jungles, about 50 miles or so inland from the coast, there was a cenote, a natural pit that had formed when the limestone eroded and fell into the groundwater below. In the middle this particular cenote resided a small island that had formed from the remains of the limestone roof that had once covered the blue waters below. However, this picturesque scene is not where our story starts; our story has many beginnings, many points from which the tale is spun for the important players who are in our story. It’s best that you first learn about them.

Camlann a skilled mercenary, swayed the flow of battle in constant conflicts and wars. He never accepted payment, nor does he even now, for the contribution of his talents on the battlefield, preferring to pick and choose his sides based on the greatest need and whether he believes their cause just or right. He had spent many years lending his sword to exploits of varying caliber before finding himself in the midst of the Great Kalona War. He fought valiantly and fiercely against the Kalona, but even his skill with the blade that had protected defended so many lives before wasn’t enough. Towards the last stages of the war, Camlann was mortally wounded and had to be carried back to the nearest safe zone by his brothers in combat to receive medical attention.

Lunete, a healer by trade, uses her skills in nursing to help those that have ailments and injuries. Her natural love and care for those that find their way to her as patients makes her one of the best healers in the Kawani lands, her dedication to saving as many lives as she can being an incredibly admirable trait that not many can say they possess. Lunete grieves deeply for every patient she has lost, having grown attached to their spark, their inner fire, whatever it is that makes them, them. Being a healer with a generous amount of love to give to those around her had always been a difficult life, but never one she would turn her back to. Life was such a fickle thing as it was, but Lunete would always rather do what she could to save lives or alleviate the pain in someone’s final moments.

Avalon played the part of a guardian to her people's most sacred and rare plant. Having endured the hardship of losing many of her family to attacks from kelpis that had ravaged her pod, her homeland, and took the lives of the holy order that had guarded the secrets of the sacred kelp. She had never taken the beliefs of the holy order to heart, but at a time when so many of those they remained from her pod, and with nowhere else to turn to, Avalon seeked out the plant that could supposedly wilt the moment someone unworthy laid eyes upon it to save the lives that needed it most. Her uncle, a member of the holy order, tasked her with tending to the plant as his final wish, having barely held on long enough to relay his message after the attack. Ever since, she has been diligent in her duties and spent her time cultivating and tending to the plant that was believed to have been blessed by the spirits.

Camlann, having had a history with Lunete, was relieved to see his dear friend tending to his injures. He believed in her talents and had the utmost faith that she would do everything in her power to save him. She tended to him with great care, patching up nicks and cuts with bandages and salves, but the injury the threatened Camlann’s life was the one the Lunete feared she would be unable to mend. It continued to fester, growing infected, and showed no signs of ever stopping. General balms to fight infections proved less and less effective and the healers that Lunete had reached out to in seek of aid were at an end for what to do. Her heart ached at the thought of losing the one she loved and every night she would bury herself in medical journals, searching for the hidden cure that could save Camlann’s life.

As nights passed and Lunete continued to exhaust her options, she recalled the legendary tale of plant that was able to cure even the worst of infections among Mers and Kelpies. It was impossible to find on land, and those that had heard of the mythical plant believed it to only be just that, a myth. It was the only option Lunete found feasible, and while those that told her to give up on a fool’s dream and prepare her unrequited love for death and keep him comfortable as he passed on, Lunete spoke of her plan to Camlann; She would go alone, to the jungle that the story had been traced back to, and she would find the plant that could heal him. Stubborn as he was, however, Camlann refused to allow Lunete go on her lonesome. He had made a personal vow to protect her from harm and he would never let the mare he considered a sister to do something so dangerous without him. His hooves were hardly anywhere near Death’s doorstep, he told her.

Together the pair traveled to the deep jungle, Camlann growing weaker and weaker by the moment and Lunete tending to him as often as they stopped to try and keep him going. Every moment made her heartache even more than the last and the light that was fading from his eyes with every passing hour only made the horrible pit in her stomach continue to grow. Lunete traded her medicinal supplies for even the smallest scrap of information, anything that would lead her dying friend to needed cure, to the locals. She would ask after the legendary plant among Mers and Kelpis, a weakened, but pridefully stubborn Camlann by her side every step of the way.

Eventually, they found their way to the limestone edges of the cenote, though the journey’s toll on Camlann and his injuries was starting to show its full effects. Too weak to carry on past the edge, he fell to the ground and his breaths grew shallow. Unwilling to succumb to death’s growing hold in front of his beloved companion, he urged her on with motions of his head that taxed him greatly. Lunete had no other choice and with success so close, she had only one choice but to go over the walls to the shallows in the the natural, open cavern of water. Her eyes scanned the area as she tread deeper and deeper into the water and she felt her heart break when she was unable to find any of the glowing kelp that would save her love’s life under the water’s surface. Filled with sorrow, the usdia mare began to softly lament, singing a grieving song of loss of a love, a love who never knew nor returned it, the loss of Camlann's life.

Avalon, having tended to the herd’s sacred crop of bioluminescent kelp in it’s hidden location of the cenote’s deep waters, heard the song’s melody carried through the water in the cavern. Curious to its source, the seathi travelled from the depths to break the surface of the lake. She listened to the last few stanzas of Lunete’s song before breaking the melancholy air. Even from the last few words that Avalon had heard from the sorrowful healer, she was able to discern that the mare before her was one with a generous heart and after talking with her, she asked why she had travelled so far to sing such a song in such a remote part of the world. To Avalon, it was no small feat that Lunete had found her way to the hidden pool of the cenote and there must have been more reason to the mare’s journey than to sing.

As Lunete gestured upwards towards where Camlann had taken to laying on the edge of the cavern’s opening, Avalon couldn’t help but gaze upon the stallion with unhidden scrutiny. He was dangerous looking, blood staining his pelt and hair from what she was able to see, and the air that he had about him, while fading quickly, seemed to mark him as someone to be wary of. Hardly one she would consider giving the sacred plant to, but sympathetic to Lunete’s plight, the Keeper of the Sacred Plant asked only two more questions. Had Lunete tried everything, every possible option she had had available to her, to save the stallion’s life? Would Camlann do everything he could to do the most with his life if it were saved by the bioluminescent kelp? After receiving the only bit of confirmation from the healer, Avalon dove beneath the surface of the water to retrieve the sought after plant. After resurfacing and quickly giving the usdia the fronds of kelp she had collected, Avalon instructed Lunete on how to best administer the kelp so its healing properties would be at their pinnacle and have the best chance of saving the life of her unrequited love.

The treatment had to be applied over several days and nights to show any sign of working. Camlann’s breathing eventually deepened, no longer the shallow breaths of a dying stallion; his fever subsided; color returned to his cheeks, no longer harboring the sickly pallor that had graced his features as his illness worsened. Avalon and Lunete bonded as they tended to Camlann and dressed his wounds. They spoke of Lunete’s unreciprocated love with Camlann, of the loss of life that Avalon had experienced in her younger years, of their shared kinship in making medicine so others may get better and never have to experience the heartbreak of losing someone dear to them. The usdia and seathi bonded quickly and deeply, a friendship unlike any other forming between the two.

It took almost a full seven days before Camlann opened his eyes, but his infection had subsided greatly, his life had been saved. Incredibly grateful to his saviors, Camlann vowed to protect both the mares that had been so generous to him and the plants that had saved his life. Though he believes he will never be able to repay his life debt to Avalon or Lunete in full, the stallion continues to patrol the area and keep aware of any suspicious tales, ready to draw his sword to defend the cenote from any who might wish to take its waters under their undeserving control.

Years have passed since the trio was brought together by what one can only call fate. The three have formed a home together; Lunete and Avalon stay within the cenote’s protection while Camlann still goes off to offer his sword to those that may need his skills on the battlefield. Avalon continues to harvest the sacred healing herb for those of her homeland, returning biannually to share the benefits of her harvest, though she now provides Lunete with a small reaping so she may make medicine. Lunete spends her time growing medicinal herbs on the center island of the cenote and preparing medicine for the locals, as well as giving hope to others when all else has failed through the healing powder she makes from the sacred kelp. Camlann returns from his war fueled journeys to his newfound home just as he did when it was just him and Lunete; though it may be months or even years, he is always sure to return to Avalon and Lunete. He often returns bearing gifts, like the armor that Avalon proudly sports and the ribbons that decorate Lunete’s mane, for the both of them.

Entei the Steadfast Tank
Name: Salamander
Owner: Revien
About:

Steadfast and loyal, Entei has found himself as the default leader of a group of juvenile crybabies. He doesn't remember signing up for the position, but oh well!

He's too embarrassed to admit to the group that he doesn't know the location of all loot, mob and mechanic locations, and has run his team down more than one empty path. He once tried to actually learn everything, but over time has learned to simply give vague, incomplete instructions.

As his only lifeline, Entei's number one priority is to stay on Raikou's good side.

Suicune the Overzealous DPS
Name: Pandora
Owner: Zoobey
About:

Just a tad on the overzealous side, Suicune refuses to not stand in those nasty red circles. Moving might reset her combo after all, and there is nothing - nothing - more important than having the highest DPS numbers of the group. Even if her quest for sheer damage output causes her to rush in before Entei gives the go ahead, resulting in the team wiping. It's Raikou's fault for not healing enough anyway! Certainly not hers!

Raikou the Exasperated Healer
Name: Crown
Owner: Masshiro
About:

Forever exasperated with her group, Raikou has made a life out of being ridiculed and blamed. It doesn't matter that Suicune clearly stood smack dab in front of enemy mechanics, or that Entei has somehow managed to loose enmity; it's her fault! Despite her job of keeping everyone alive and topped off, she's also expected to DPS in the downtime. Whatever "downtime" means.

She once thought that she was speaking a different language, but the clear screams of "I NEED HEALING" ringing throughout the battlefield always proves otherwise.

Entei
Name: Mamoru Enten
Owner: Summer Raaven
About:

Personality/Background:
It started with a promise made long ago -- a promise to protect the ones who cannot protect themselves. Be the hero I know you are... Blessed with impressive brute strength and sheer size since foalhood, the promised seemed simple enough; he was a humble stallion, and to please Her, he'd do anything. The "weak", as he called them, seemed to flock to him once they realized he was their protector, and at first, he was happy to oblige. At first, all they'd ever really ask for was a traveling companion or a guard while they slept in dangerous woods. It was company like he never knew before, and his understanding of the world grew with every customer. It was a simple life, but an honorable one. It made him feel as though she was there with him.

And then...the true nature of the world started to rear it's ugly head. Soquili from all walks of life started to get greedy -- they wanted more from him. They expected more from him. He was the lowly sell-sword, they used him. He began to refuse their pleas for help, and they'd get angry. Feeling as though his promise was starting to fall apart, he went back to Her. He intended to beg for her forgiveness in failing his mission and stay with her...but when he got there....

She had died, just weeks before. There was no message left for him.

A bitter, angry, careless beast woke within him. He no longer refused the ridiculous and petty offers for help. He'd kill for pleasure, for valuables. It didn't matter. His customers started to take shape of the shadows that he lived in, and nothing mattered anymore. He hardly spoke -- doing his duty, taking his pay, and leaving, with little more than a grunt. Once or twice he swore he'd probably killed an innocent, simply because his customer paid him to, but he didn't care. The world was cruel, and he was the bearer of that pain.

Beyond the pain, Mamoru Enten is a lonely soul. A job that once gave him satisfaction -- a purpose -- now disgusted him. The Soquili he loved to help so dearly, disgusted him. He had no friends, no family, no place to call home. He'd do what he had to do, and move on...that was the life he had now. The life that the world had carved for him. Somewhere, however, deep inside that empty shell, lay a true warrior's heart, waiting for the redemption and peace that it so deserved. He had seen the world for what it truly was, but underneath all that darkness lived a hope...a hope that maybe something good could come of all this greed. He'd continue to let the world prove him right, until hopefully one day...it'd prove him wrong.

Character Quirks:

  • Although absolutely not a talker, and more of a passer-by grunter, if you do get him to talk it's quite difficult to shut him up. Years of heartache have pushed that friendly personality down deep....but it's there.
  • An independent thinker, Enten rarely finds comfort in the assistance of others.

Suicune
Name: Ōrora Sui Hime
Owner: Regal Renegade
About:

Personality/Background:
As the eldest princess and heir of the Ōrora Dynasty, Sui grew up with a sense of entitlement, she believed that she deserved the best of certain commodities and respect from her peers and those beneath her in social class. This entitlement made her egotistical and proud. She has a difficult time hearing that she is in the wrong, due to this know it all attitude, many of the other nobles do not wish to converse with her during social gatherings. Her peer’s attitudes toward her did not dismay her, she saw it as a challenge to win their trust and when she sets her mind upon a task she does not fail.

She has a sharp tongue when she is agitated and tends to speak her mind. Sui tries to live her life as honestly as possible so that she can be seen as a worthy princess of the Orora Dynasty. The amount of people she considers to be her true friends can be counted with a single starfish’s five arms, for these individuals she would travel to the ends of the earth; she has a stead-fast loyalty to those that she considers to be her friend. Stubbornness comes with her egotistical view upon the world, only certain people are capable of making her see a different perspective.

In her dealings of court intrigue, nobles, and other aspects of her life, she is meticulous and a perfectionist. Everything must be done correctly and perfectly the first time, or it should not be done at all. To her failure is not an option, mistakes are costly and should be avoided at all costs.

The Orora family is a family of warriors, so as the eldest and heir, Sui is well versed in the art of combat. Since she was little she had been trained in the use of weapons and strategy.

Her life has been a gilded fishing net, it is why she holds such an egotistical view upon the world. Her view of the world changed when she received news that the underwater kingdom which she called home was slowly dying due to a blight upon the land and over fishing of the seas.

After learning that everything she loves will slowly start to die, Sui became determined to find a way to stop pollution from spreading.

Character Quirks:

  • When bored, she has a tendency to blow bubbles and try to see if she can make any of them into rings as they head up to the water's surface. This is not very lady like, so she does it in private.
  • She would rather do things herself than have others do it for her. That way she knows it will get done properly.

Raikou
Name: Takeshi Rai
Owner: XxXPandamoniumXxX
About:

Personality/Background:
A difficult life, one that is not so easily chosen. The spirits did not bless her with the advantages of an easy foalhood; Rai has had to learn early on how to maintain a life she could call her own -- make a name for herself. In the beginning, it was challenging, the world unkind to those who were lost. It darkened her, she began to see things as they were, and not as how a playful usdia foal should hope they'd be. A difficult life, yes, but something she had come to master. If this was to be what the spirits had granted her, she'd spit it back in the spirit's face.

Rai cares not for the pleasantries of others, having been taught that nothing was handed to you. They were all too wrapped up in their perfect little worlds, that she slipped right under their noses, so to speak. She paid them no mind, they paid her no mind. It was easier that way. Life didn't happen while you were worrying about the opinion of another, and she was far too busy to stop and smell the roses. A life of hardship had brought her a life of thievery, taking from whomever whatever she could -- without so much of a second thought.

A life also without much companionship, Rai worked alone. Her strictly direct, unphased, and blunt demeanor put her in a world of uncompromised independence. It had, on many occasion, allowed for her to have the upper-hand in a game of cat-and-mouse -- always one step ahead of her supposed victim. A mare of many hidden tricks and talents, being the master of her game is the ultimate payback. Deception is just a fancy word for power.

She took on the guise of healer, after getting bored of the games she was playing. No one would suspect a healer was up to no good; a healer was trusted, welcomed -- and they were all easily manipulated.Though now well versed in the art of healing, she has taken her knowledge and twisted it to darker purposes. After all, killing someone is much...simpler than healing them, something she discovered long ago, in her distant and forgotten past.

She garnered the handle of assassin medic whilst performing her trade, and she adores the name. Though, perhaps darkness is not the only shade in her heart.

Character Quirks:

  • She collects trinkets from those she has killed or manipulated....the ribbons and bows that decorate her body? Prizes, for a job well done.
  • Although accidental, her knowledge of the power of healing has grown exponentially, making her a powerful ally, if you're lucky.

Story:
Many moons ago the Earth showed her displeasure to those who would abuse her bounty. Fires raged, lightning storms flashed, and floods corroded the land. Three soquili stood together to face the wrath of the land; they were the complete opposite of each other, as fire is to water as water is to lightning, yet they stood together and in the end, died together. The Gods must have been smiling upon them, for they were able to get the fires under control and limit the damage of the floods. However, fate had other plans for the three of them. As they tried to contain the blaze, a column of fire surrounded the three of them, providing them with no escape. Death came to those who risked their lives to save others and with their last breath; rain began to fall, dousing all the flames. As the rain cleared and the clouds parted, a large orange bird flew over the site of our fallen heroes. It is said that the bird was Ho-oh and that when the time comes, those heroes will once again walk this earth.

“Will they come now grandpa? Now that the earth is dying again? Will the heroes save us all?”
“We shall see little one, we shall see.”

←═══════════════╬☾•·☉·•☽╬═══════════════→

The land was dying. A black blight was taking root and destroying anything that it touched. Herds upon herds were migrating away from the blight-touched land, but as they moved, the reach of the disease spread even further. Each herd within the land felt the strain of the blight; resources in previously plentiful forests were wearing thin, resulting in overfishing in the seas by those who consume meat. Rumors of mythical objects that could save the land spread like wild fire as well as rumors of soquili claiming to be one of the heroes of old who will save them all for a nice (hefty) price.

Orora Sui Hime knew that a mythical object or a magical plant would not solve all their problems, it just did not seem logical and it left too many variables unanswered. However, none of that mattered now, she had to figure out where the source of the blight was coming from and then she could n** it in bud so to speak. She had been listening desperately to each rumor, to each tale a new refugee told. One rumor in particular rarely deviated in its telling, it told the same thing repeatedly, the origin of the blight is where they fell.

He was tired of this, the constant take from those whose greed blinded them to the suffering around them. The blight only seemed to be a catalyst for more greed and disreputable deeds. Mamoru Enten did not care if the people hired him to do “dirty” jobs, but they could at least not be assholes about it. He was a sell-sword, but the job no longer brought him the feeling of accomplishment as it did when he first made that promise to Her. Nevertheless, this blight business was getting on his nerves and the only lead he had about the origin was something about, it all began where the heroes took their stand.

There was nothing left, just invaluable pieces of junk that soquili left behind as they fled the blight stricken land. What kind of thief or assassin would she be if she no longer had anything to steal or people to kill? Something needed to be done about this blight or her reputation would be ruined. Takeshi Rai glowered at the black rot covering the trees and grass around her. Word had it that she could find the cause of the blight at the graves of those who appeased the mother’s wrath.

The princess did not know that the rumor meant, but she did know something had to be done before the misery of her people became more intolerable. She would follow the source of the rumors, they all seemed to come from east of the sea. Getting to the origin of the blight may be difficult as she could only travel via water, but with a will, there is a way. Sui knew her journey would be long and arduous, but it was her duty as the eldest daughter of the Orora Dynasty to save her people from this blight. As she swam, she began to notice less fish in the stream and less birds in the air. The sky appeared devoid of any life. It gave off the eerie sense she was all alone, which was broken by a single bird flying overhead, its screeched words sending shivers down her spine, “Three heroes stood, and three heroes fell, only three can make the land right again.”

Enten marched across the soquili barren land, it reminded him of stories of old battles where nothing lived and no movement was seen except for the birds enjoying their feast. He had set off on this journey in an annoyed rage and seeing the desolate land has done nothing to appease his anger, instead it only sparked more anger at those who would abuse their power in times like this, when suffering was apparent throughout the land. The soquili who he did pass appeared as if the walking dead, they had hallow eyes, and a cloak of despair that seemed to thicken with each step. As they walked, they mumbled, “And the three shall meet, where three met their end, giving rise to a new beginning.”

Yes, she was an assassin and a thief, but she was not heartless. She posed as a healer because it made for perfect cover and no one suspected ill intent from those who appeared to want to alleviate ailments. What the blight was doing to the plants and land made Rai’s heart ache. Black rotten death was evident through the forest as once vibrant trees began to wither and die. Plants that Rai knew by name for healing were speckled with black flecks. Dead animals sprinkled the land where they had sampled some of the diseased plants. One fox, near the gates of death looked up at her with his big golden eyes, “the breath of those who fell calls to those who will once again unite.”

The three would be heroes traveled the land, separately, but each with the same purpose: to rid the land of this disease. As they traveled, they continued to hear whispers of the origins of the blight. How three brave soquili stood together to face the wrath of the earth and how their sacrifice brought prosperity, until now. Where they fell to the fury of the earth is where the unwitting heroes will find the solution to the problem.

Many moons ago, three soquili stood up to the Earth’s displeasure. They represented the lightning bolt that started the fire, the fire that ravaged the land, and the rains that calmed the fire with their sacrifice. The three stood valiantly together and when the inferno engulfed them, they knew that it was not the end and they shall see each other again.

The time has come for the heroes to be reborn, memories of their past have been lost, but the same sense of purpose guides them all. Three have united, and together they can save the land once more.

Due to the destruction so long ago, the landscape had changed; it no longer looked the same as when the heroes fell. In the west a river cut close to the center of the glade, a large previously lush forest marked the south and a barren grassland marked the north. Three vastly different landscapes, for three vastly different heroes.

Each arrived from different directions, one from the west, north, and south. As they neared the site, the land appeared to come alive. The river grew warm and appeared untouched by the disease. A breeze ruffled the mane of the stallion and previously decaying grass tickled his legs. The branches of the forest shook as if waking from a long slumber and welcomed the usida as she approached. Another presence washed over the three of them, one of love, acceptance and relief. A sense of déjà vu filled the three soquili -- they had been here before, at a distant time, as different people.

The three stood around the origin of the blight, bemused by each other’s presence. A silent realization washes over them, “where three have perished, three shall revive the earth”. With a nod of agreement, the three of them met at the center. A caw fills the air as a shadow of a bird flies overhead, a streak of orange glows in the suns light before it vanished behind the clouds.

Rai, Sui, Enten; three individuals so vastly different from one another, united to help heal the land. The process was extensive and grueling, since there was no magical cure-all for the situation they faced. Soquili from all over the land came and helped the three resurrected heroes to restore life to the barren earth. Many moons later, when the earth had returned to her lush state, legends of the three continued to spread. How much of it truth, or how much of it tale, only the three shall know.
