Home. To some at least. A prison to others. A brief resting place to still more. But it can't be said that the island, with its resources and structures and people, isn't the hub around which all hunter lives revolve. They're home again and themselves again.

But not everything is the same, because it never can be when the massive powers they encounter play demi-gods in their world. There's damage to the buildings, a chunk of the infirmary is gone. The main building is now two buildings, almost neatly split in half by a mass of rock that had shot up from the ground. The cafeteria is gone completely. The dorms are, suprisingly, relatively untouched. Some rooms have been ransacked, the the building is secure. Towns, as is so often the case, go hit hard, but nothing that couldn't be fixed.

There's a sudden wave of new hunters, waking from pods, and that is one of the better blessings to be found in the aftermath. But even here, it results in change. Home has new faces now, new personalities and ideas that will further alter the island in unseen ways.

And then there are the survivors. The ones who stood to defend the island and glimpsed other worlds and selves. These experiences and journeys create so many turns and twists, are they the same people as they were before? Are they stronger? Are they wiser? Are they broken?

They're home again and themselves again. There are many things to fix.

gaia_crown [ WELCOME HOME: YOUR HUNTER CHARACTER HAS BEEN TRANSPORTED HOME ]

gaia_crown They DO remember EVERYTHING they experienced in the meta, even the details of horseman clans, functions, weird distorted jobs as relevant to THE DUSK. Whatever you rped, you remember (keyword, RPED).

gaia_crown Feel free to drop them off here in response to the prompt/rp here a bit as well as write a post-meta solo on their thoughts/feelings/reactions on everything that happened so far.

gaia_crown As half the "cage" actually happened RIGHT ON DEUS ISLAND, with the Horsemen/Students only thinking they were Hunters, but actually physically interacting with the island, a lot of it has been well... really damaged. Looks like it's time for repairs (see below).

Island Repairs

gaia_crown [ Deus has some key areas that will need repair! ] (You may do so in this thread and/or separate rps).

gaia_star [ First roll 1d6 to determine the damage done to your hunters place of living. ]
(bonus: those who live in dorms may subtract 1 from their roll! Those who live in town must add 1 to their roll!)
1-low to no damage
2-5 inconvenient damage
6-7 enough damage for them to spend a week or two elsewhere while it's being repaired

gaia_star [ Cafeteria : ] the cafeteria will need to be rebuilt from the ground up, possibly at a new location. Create a prp, orp, or solo of your character helping to either clean out and salvage wreckage, gather new resources, or help build the new one. In your final post, quote lizbot along with a brief suggestion of what you/your character would like to see in regards to the new building. It can range from something as simple as menus, to vending machines, to furniture, to location and architecture.
Bonus: +1 rp point in addition to the standard 1 rp point for meeting word req, once per character

gaia_star [ Infirmary :] the infirmary will be undergoing massive repair. Create a prp, orp, or solo of your character helping to either clean out and salvage wreckage, assist the staff with working around the construction area, or help rebuilding. In your final post, quote lizbot along with a brief suggestion of what you/your character would like to see in regards to the new area. It can range from something as simple as signage, wall color, to new purposes for the rooms being rebuilt.
Bonus: +1 rp point in addition to the standard 1 rp point for meeting word req, once per character

gaia_star [ Main Building : ] the main building will be undergoing massive repair. Create a prp, orp, or solo of your character helping to either clean out and salvage wreckage, assist the staff with working around the construction area, or help rebuilding. In your final post, quote lizbot along with a brief suggestion of what you/your character would like to see in regards to the new area. It can range from something as simple as signage, wall color, to something as important as to re-merge the building or turn it into two separate buildings.
Bonus: +1 rp point in addition to the standard 1 rp point for meeting word req, once per character

gaia_star In one (IC and OOC) month, the new changes will be determined by these RPs, and the bonuses will expire (RPs do not have to be complete, you may recieve bonuses as long as you've hit word reqs). After another month, you may consider the projects complete and the buildings whole again.

Otto was back. How and why, he wasn't sure. Maybe destroying that office desk really did the trick after all. If so, he ought to destroy furniture more often in dire situations. It was so effective. His first reaction was his surroundings. If nothing else, Deus was at least not levelled. But it had surely seen better days. Dragging Chance along with him, he surveyed the damage.

"The cafeteria's ******** gone!" He lamented, letting him go and staring agog at the nothingness and rubble that used to be his go-to for quick and easy meals (more like 99% of his meals). Dragging his hands over his face, he hurried toward the dorms. ******** the infirmary, he needed to see if his TV was okay.

And it was. Aside from some fallen books and a couple cracked plates on the floor, there really was nothing to shrug at. His workplace was messed, but his little nest of heaven was just as he'd left it; messy and in dire need of a vacuum.

The simulation had simply shattered, and with the return came a new rush of knowledge, a new inrush of memory. Jordan stood for a long moment, Ferros in his hand, assimilating everything and realizing slowly that everything was ******** destroyed, again.

He took a long breath, desummoned, and made his way back to the dorms to find out how much repairing he was going to have to do, whether his room was going to be livable, and carefully did not think about whose rooms might have been ruined.

Ugh, what had happened to her bed...?

Something large and warm was by her side, and the girl could help but smile, even as her body registered the sand underneath them both. Did they stay the night over at the Famine floors. Was that the ocean? What? Everything was so fuzzy...

Elbowing the big lump, America complained, "Stop snoring, dad."

It was probably the desk, mostly because Chance liked to think that he and Otto had done at least some damage to the Horseman's residence before they'd gotten back. And he was damn pleased to be back where he was supposed to be.

Deus was like a breath of fresh air compared to anything involving the Horsemen. Chance followed after Otto, glancing with a sigh at the cafeteria - or rather, the lack of one - and then up to the second floor of the dormitories to where Otto's room was.

"It could have been worse," said Chance agreeably, before he towed Otto downstairs to his own room which looked completely untouched - just as Chance had left it.

"Oh, good," he said, glancing with satisfaction at the most important object in the room - namely his telescope. "Good."

He was probably more relieved than he should have been that it was just fine, but, well...his telescope.

"Do you want to go see how everything else looks?"

It was like waking from a dream - a dream that hadn't been too terrible the whole time. Still, Sherry was happy to be out of it. She was home and things were fine.

Or not fine. A look at the island showed that it as very not fine. "Oh, of course," Sherry sighed with a wave of her arms. "Of course." She could see from here there had been some massive damage to some of the buildings.

"I hope my room is okay." She started off in the direction of the dorms. "Better be okay."

It was, mostly okay. The walls were intact as were all her doors. The bathroom looked like it had been flooded and she'd need to replace her shower door, but other than that it was okay.

The kitchen was another story.

Her toaster oven looked like it had caught fire, her sink needed a new faucet, the fridge had toppled over and all her food was spoiled. She was also going to need a new TV and a new couch. "Dammit." She sighed, knowing full well things could have been a lot worse. Oh, one window was broken, too.

She had fared better than the rest of the island. She'd seen that much on here way up there. The cafeteria was gone, the main building was practically gone. "Count the blessings."

Sherry sat down on her bed. She'd have to get new blankets for it, but she sat on them anyway. She'd need to check up on people ASAP. That kid she'd helped, Lucky, Gale. She was sure they were fine now, but she'd have to check. Make sure everyone was okay, really.

She wondered if anyone was actually hurt. Maybe she had better head down to the infirmary to check?

That was what she did, and it was indeed also messed up. Of course. Nice things never lasted. Okay, they'd just have to start cleaning up. Sherry of course planned to help in the infirmary first, but with her kitchen in shambles the cafeteria would need some help, too. The main building would need work, too. Sherry looked around at the infirmary and sighed again.

Yeah okay. This needed help. But first, she wanted to go check on some people. That kid, Lucky, Gale, Mark, Caroline - again she was sure they were FINE. But right now she needed to make sure. The buildings could wait. People first.

"Now that I know our rooms are fine, yeah. Let's go see what else is busted." It was like a train wreck. A morbid curiosity to see what was torn asunder. Otto didn't even let it feel real, like a personal tragedy should be. This was his home, yet he felt like he was simply walking through a theme park. Maybe it wasn't hitting him because his senses were entirely overloaded. Maybe his mind couldn't shake the mind set between illusions and realities.

It would sink in once he had to start doing heavy labour.

Hitting Chance's back a couple times in an overly enthusiastic back pat, Otto headed out to see how bad the buildings were. Offices, training fields, and other places he usually frequented on a daily basis.

He spent most of the journey lamenting about having to cook his own food and where he'd find cases of ramen on sale.

It was always strange to wake up after a huge dream like adventure that would take weeks to process and understand. Except this time the dream had been part reality as the island had taken some damage. Especially the infirmary.

Jason hadn't been sleeping in a bed, which would explain why his back felt so stiff. Sitting up, he stretched those stiff muscles and took stock of what had happened.

He was sitting in front of one, and in that bed Solia slept, connected to the machines that were keeping her alive.

He was still in the infirmary, and in a matter of seconds the dream was pushed aside. He could feel his heart clench in that familiar sadness and panic, standing to check the machines, make sure the drip was in properly or if it needed replacing. or if anything had changed in her condition. A hourly practice he continued even in the midst of his other duties.

Everything appeared to be fine, nothing had been damaged. Thank the gods for that. Her condition, however, had not changed. For good or for worse.

Jason still couldn't understand how this happened. How he had missed her deteriorating health in the first place. The few test he could get done showed just how sick she was. The weapon bond itself was weak, and it wasn't growing any stronger either.

He sat in the char, gazing at her sleeping face, tears prickling in his eyes. Her body looked so pale, perhaps she would need another blood transfusion. He'd gladly volunteer as he'd done before. She could have all his blood if it would make her better. Make her healthy again.

Zanthvos was quiet, unable to offer words of encouragement or even commentary on their latest adventure. The only thing Jason could hear was that wretched beeping sound, just waiting for it to change, dreading the monologue.

He reached for her hand, softly squeezing and straining every sense, hoping for a reaction. A slight squeeze from her, maybe her eyes fluttering open. Nothing happened. He leaned back and rubbed his eyes. At least he wasn't tired anymore, but there was so much damage done. He'd have to help repair everything while taking care of her.

"Améliorez-vous, mon amour" He spoke quietly, the words strange on his tongue, and with a last check of the machine he was up, off to attend to other patients and to try fix everything he could.

4 - inconvenient damage

There was no front door. Cami couldn't seem to get past that part as she stood in the topsy-turvy ransacked version of her home, trying to absorb everything that she had experienced. Trying to reconcile everything that Camixi had been rattling around inside of her head like some kind of demon imp.

She knew very little about the horsemen but now there was a kind of insight into at least one of the clans. The hivemind, the complete fascination with insects, the complete family aspect of it all. It had been warm, and wonderful, and she absolutely hated the fact that she'd been forced out of that utopia.

Trudging slowly up the stairs her footfalls were heavy as she noted that there seemed to be a rather interesting hole in the roof of the bedroom that was supposed to be hers. She didn't use it, thankfully, spending more time in the big bed with Caroline than on her own. Now there was an even better excuse to not return to solitary confinement because there were going to be nightmares now.

Weren't there always? She couldn't remember but there was a kind of foreboding feeling that said yes, it was always this way, and it would always be this way. You couldn't brush with Ancients and Legacies without some kind of residual energy clinging to you whether it be positive or negative.

Ama had gone to see how the others were doing after confirming that her adoptive daughter was in one piece and was not going to fall apart as soon as she walked away. Truthfully, Cami felt like the falling apart had already happened. She was almost hollow inside, hollow the way that Maebe had been in The Dusk, longing for something that she couldn't have.

No front door. Hole in the roof in the spare bedroom. Furniture overturned and floors scratched. Paint gouged. Things that could be fixed but were completely inconvenient and more annoying than had there been actual catastrophic damage. It was a reminder that something had happened. She had no control over what was going on around her. She had no idea about any of this!

And now there was going to be this memory of a perfect place, a place where she had been loved, and wanted, and talented! Immediately her thoughts fell on the Nothing who she now realized was Lawrence. That dangerous man who she was supposed to avoid had been her mentor! Obviously mentor and student had cared for each other and had bonded. What was going to happen now?

Huffing slightly she peeled the sheet off the bed she never used. First things first...they needed a door.

He had been dreaming, not having to be on duty for another couple of hours he had been asleep when the comms had gone off and they were all summoned to defend the island from the Horsemen. And then during battle he ended up practically dreaming again as the two powers took hold to play with them. Dreams of being a horseman, part of the clan of Conquest as he was caught up in the Destruction beings cage. He rather felt like he should have quoted Dorothy at some point in saying 'there is no place like home'. Not all of the time spent was bad, he had ended up having some fun here and there while doing jobs and talking to his friends, as well as meeting new ones.

Of course actually believing he had been a Horseman was both interesting and creepy at the same time. He had all of this information in his brain on how the Horsemen worked, how they gathered Fear, how they worked together. It was information he would definitely have to mull over later when he didn't have anything in particular he had to worry about.

Not now though as he had to check out his dorm room for any damage. The bottle green haired man walked to the doors and headed towards his room, hoping that it wasn't completely messed up after seeing just how much damage had happened around the island. Souji was safely tucked away in ring form so his hands were free as he ran one through his short hair and used the other to open his door.

First thing he saw when he opened the door was that his bed had been completely stripped of any sheets or blankets, even his pillows were gone, and then he saw a good portion of his clothes had been strewn across the ground like some one had gone through his drawers and just tossed everything out. With a sigh he stepped in carefully and searched for a few minutes for a piece of paper and a pencil then started to write down what all he would have to buy to replace damaged or missing things. At the top was of course everything for his bed.

Thankfully most of the clothes that were on the floor was undamaged, just in major need or cleaning, though a few things were missing. His picture frames were broken and at least one picture was repairable thanks to damage. It looked like he had to replace all of his soaps, both for bathing and for cleaning, and towels. Thankfully it looked like whoever it was that came into his room hadn't found the box he had hidden with his most treasured items and money. Once he was finished with his list he gave another sigh and left to figure out when he could go shopping next.

Clyde had been comfortable. The ground was very comfortable. The dreams were odd, but strangely pleasant. Nothing was better than a nice day of shooting practice, even if the targets were monsters.

He had settled down into some kind of routine. He was shooting and killing as he needed. And then he woke up.

And they were back. And everything was a mess. Why? Clyde looked around and groaned. He almost had everything the way he wanted it. Now everything was ruined.

This was worse than coming back to an island full of kids. He felt like the maid, always cleaning up messes. And they were everywhere. Clyde went to his room first and... the door was off the hinges. They would need to be complete redone. Who did this? It looked like someone took an Ax to it. Clyde sighed. the live of a hunter seemed to be more clean up than anything else. Worst, supplies were in short order. He needed to scrounge if he wanted this done.

Well first would be getting a hold of something to cover the door. He wasn't sleeping with it open. He examined the hinges and found one set still in good use and saved as many screws as he could. The others were all bent out of shape. Trash now. Clyde took it down and salvaged what he could.

The rest of the room, well, he's lost his favorite cup. it was smashed to the ground and his small wardrobe was thrown about, but over all, it seemed to be alright. Mostly just pick up and replacing the door. Manageable. He shoved his cloths back where they belonged and then got a broom.

Then he went to get boards for covering the door. It wouldn't be pretty, but it would work. Given a couple hours he would be done. He could always get another door later. (Or move somewhere else, that was an option.) For now he would have to go hunting for screw and two new hinges.

Maybe he needed coffee first. He definitely needed coffee first. Clyde mosied over to where the Cafeteria was only to find.... "Nooo!" his coffee. how was he supposed to function now?

Clyde searched the remains of the cafeteria in hope beyond hope that there would be fresh coffee available. It wasn't so and it didn't look like there would be any for a long time.

Dawson's snoring was louder than usual because, unfortunately, he was sleeping on his back, with his head lying flat instead of propped up against a pillow. Eventually the sleep apnea in combination with unknown prodding forced him to turn away, slapping his arm around what he thought was a pillow but were, in fact, something better.

"M'naawww," he mumbled, cap pulled off earlier and buried in the sand a few inches away. His hair was tangled and flat over his eyes.

1 - 1 because towns = Inconvenient damage

Home again, Lawrence thought to himself, after all this place was as close to a home as he had now. Back to the island and the routine, picking up the pieces that were broken by whatever it was that had overtaken them. The infirmary was damaged significantly and therefore was one of his central focuses to repair.

His house on the other hand was for the most part all right, there were a few broken windows, a bit of chipped paintwork, nothing that would be too difficult to repair. He was more relieved by this than he could really let on.

Still, the house wasn't the only thing, there would be other problems later to deal with, but for now, it was the least of his problems.
