When Ruth opened her eyes and found herself in a strange new environment, the paranoia agent was torn between excitement and concern. On the one hand, someone had brought her here possibly without her consent which was concerning. On the other hand, this was a strange new land and she would have all sorts of new experiences, which was exciting.
And when footsteps and the shape of hunters came into view, Ruth got the distinct impression that it was going to be both.

Her initial move was to escape, because this was Ruth and she would prefer to let other creeple do the confrontational s**t. But it became clear that she had no choice and was going to be forced to fight. The steel pipe came out and the hunters were given sharp precise whacks to the back of their heads.

Rather than ending the fight, Ruth decided to toy with the last one. Rather than going for a spot that would prove to be lethal if struck, she decided to aim for the debilitating injury of a broken a kneecap.

It was a cruel grin pulling at Ruth's lips as she watched the hunter flounder about, weakly trying to strike at her with their own weapon while she dodged with contemptuous ease. In the end, the blonde reaper put the Hunter out of its misery with a strong blow to their face.

Behind the mirror is none other than the Amityville Academy as it actually should have been. It confirms that you are trapped within this dream, as you look closer to the mirror. Examining it reveals it is just a mirror, and shattering it well-
- After a while it rebuilds itself. You are stuck here.
The mirror shifts. You can see that the school turn into a massive cage, larger than you've ever seen. How did you get here? What is this cage? You can't see anything but the cage on the other side.

Ruth continued in her exploration until she caught sight of a mirror. Or was it more of a locked portal? She didn't see herself in the reflection and there was nothing behind the frame. Was it even really a mirror if it acted more like a window?
One that showed her the current state of things.
For several heartbeats, the paranoia agent could only look before her shoulders began to tremble. Her entire body shook but not in fear but in silent laughter as the shattered image reformed into Amityville within a cage.
Yes, somehow, this all made sense. Of course everything and everyone was trapped. Why else would they be in such a mess? It was all so clear and so obvious that Ruth couldn't believe she failed to see it. But at least she could appreciate the genius behind such a feat.

The shadowed figure came forward further, then again, then again. She seemed entirely undeterred by the constant backing away.

She brought her weapon up, trying to block, trying to lessen the blows' impact on her while still desperately seeking a way out. Her retaliation was weak, but she wasn't intending to down the opponent. Just gain some distance.

It was possible a mocking laugh had come from the shadowy figure still advancing towards Ruth. It might have been simple derision, simple mockery, but whatever it was, it was feminine in nature, the sickle raising again for another swing.
"Oh, you try so hard and yet here you are," she whispered. "How pathetic."
