One hunter had to mean there were more. They were like ants in that fashion, always marching to the order of a general that couldn't give less a s**t about their lives. So where was the damn little dirt pile they called home in this mess of fog...He wondered if Shaheen had found it before him. If so, she better have left him something to, someone to kill. Hells, if Shaheen was there, the others were as well. Shik hastened forward.

The green little creature didn't bother him for now. All it had were empty threats.

The island he came across was vaguely familiar. He had only ever been there once, when his kind and their sympathizers had conducted a small-scale siege, but it had to have been the same place. Why? Because the first building he strode into had a small group of hunter-like silhouettes waiting to face him.

Shik felt like Christmastival had come early.

Still licking the remnants of his prey from his lips, he flared his nostrils to find the scent of something else, be it friend or foe.

Two of them fell with the first sweeping blow, though a third managed to step in and get a stab at her before she could pivot towards it. With clenched teeth to bite back the grunt of pain, she used both hands to thrust her sword towards the hunters middle, effectively skewering it, before she lifted up a foot and kicked it off again.

Turning, she faced the last two with a wide grin.

This time, she spun her blade in a lazy circle as she straightened, and with her free hand crooked a finger at them, in a silent invitation for them to come after her.

She desummoned her blade and cracked her knuckles, wings beating behind her, stirring up the fog, their own cracks and wispy tendrils fitting in just perfectly with the gloomy landscape. Once, twice they beat, and she was lifted off of the ground, and then, with an air piercing, ear shattering cry of rage, she shot forward, fists at the ready as she tackled the hunter to the ground, thighs locked around it's neck, and punched it, over and over and over again, until it was nothing but shadowy pulp.

Eventually, she pushed herself up and turned, blowing a few strands of wayward blonde strands out of her eyes.

"Hello, darling~" She grinned, finally catching sight of her partner.

A bear's face wasn't made for expression, but the way his growls curled suggested pleasure at the sight of Shaheen. For once, Shik wasn't particularly territorial over the prey - seeing her sound of mind after the leagues of fog he went through was enough to override that instinct - nor was he insistent about some challenge or other means to play with their food. No, today he was just fine with going vanilla.

When the carnage was over, his blood-caked head bumped against her shoulder in warm greeting and rumbled, apparently too lazy to shift back. There was something in being an animal that satisfied a primal need in him, and he hadn't been able to scratch that itch in a while. Although bathing was probably going to be a b***h again. It was worth it, mind you, to see the little flesh bags get their shields torn away and quickly exploding in guts like so many little packets of sauce, but still.

Apparently they missed one, however. Shik shot his mate a look that said this idiot really thinks before he got on his hind legs and bellowed a challenge at the shadowy hunter.

And then, falling back to his paws, Shik broke into a lightning-fast lope, his claws sparking with something red and hot. An X was carved into the shadow, something darker than fire bursting forth to consume them both from the friction. It delighted the horseman regardless, eyes gleaming and mark of destruction blood red in his fur.

But whether he was a horseman or a hunter, Shik had to show off a little. A grey, foggy, bejeweled sword materialized into his mouth, and he followed up with a slash into what hole he had made. The rampage took him past the would-be hunter, and he turned to look at Shaheen over it's form, wordless and smug.

When Shik approached, she instinctively lifted her arm to rest a hand on top of his head, even going so far as to give him a light scratch behind one of his ears, a habit she had formed with her own mount that she performed now without thought, though she couldn't really have given less of a care towards how Shikoba actually felt about it.

If he wanted to stay in mount form, than she would treat him like one.

"You've got hunter bits in your fur again." She helpfully pointed out, while pulling her hand away to wipe blood off onto whatever fabric covered her front, a futile act as she had just as much splattered on her clothing as she did staining her skin.

It was then that she noticed the new shadow that approached, eyes darting towards it, and then towards Shik, and then back to it again.

She let out something between a snort and a scoff, though it was likely drowned out completely by the deafening roar of the bear next to her, and before she could even react, the great big gallumping beast was off on all four, and she was stood behind in his dust.

Well, that just wasn't going to fly with her.

She would fly, however, to catch up to him, feet pounding on the ground, wing beats pushing gusts of air that stirred the fog as she lifted off, following in quick pursuit of her partner, so that when he turned to give her his gloating look, she wouldn't be where he'd left her, but instead would touch down briefly on his back, using him to launch herself into a forward flip, her sword raised and glowing as bright as the sun as she brought it down two-handed on the shadow, as hard as she could swing, and with a war cry to pierce the heavens.

He might have won the award for vicious brutality, but she won in style.
