 Night of December the 15th.
As Dark Chocolate wakes a cold chill goes down his spine which isn’t because it’s cold enough to snow out. As sweat rolls down his face he quietly gasps for air after the horrible dream he had just seconds after he fell asleep. His thoughts revolve around it because it reminded him of the conversation he first had with Hiroshi Joji and Adenium. Trying to calm himself he thinks about what happened the day after he emerged from his box and how different Hiroshi Joji and Adenium began to act. From that day on they seemed to be more protective than ever which didn’t worry him because he was sure something had happened to his parents. So their behavior only proved that he was right in thinking someone hunted them down to hurt and or kill them. Being calm enough he was able to get their minds off of whatever they learned about them because he would find out in due time. No matter how curious he was to find out what they found out he knew that it would only upset them which is the last thing he wants to do. Instead he filled the days with as many wonderful things as he could which worked just about all day which was good enough for him. Though, whenever Hiroshi Joji, Adenium, Ruby, and Alora gather to talk they always seem on edge afterwards. As Hiroshi Joji and Adenium enter he looks past them at the snow covered ground imagining how wonderful it’ll be to play on snow by leaving paw prints to make paths to see who can find him. He know they might worry, though, they just have to trust that he can handle himself as well as the others if he has to. As he shakes of the cold of the horrible dream he lays his head down while thinking of all the exciting things they play now that the snow covers the ground like a sparkly blanket.

 After entering their home Hiroshi Joji slows to a stop without any sort of warning because he knew Adenium was right behind him. Having stopped in front of her Adenium has to carefully walk over him to avoid stepping onto of him because she couldn’t slow down as quickly as he had. Once she’s able to steady herself she goes to verbally lash out at him because she could have hurt him and would have woke Dark Chocolate if she hasn’t already. Before she can turn her head she quickly looks over at Dark Chocolate to see if he’s awake or close to waking up when she notices that he’s grown up. As she carefully looks him over she realizes that he’s just falling asleep now which is curious because when they left he was fast asleep. Seeing as they were in Ruby and Alora’s home they were too far away to have disturbed him and if he had followed them his paw prints would have shown in the snow. Which means something had happened to wake him such as a bad dream or sorts which would explain why he was up three hours after he fell asleep. Quietly walking up to him she wonders why she’s looking at Dark Chocolate, yet, seeing him in a different sort of way now that he’s an adult. The longer she looks the lower she gets until she’s laying in front of him while their noses touch which tickles enough to make her sneeze. By the time she knows what’s going on Hiroshi Joji had already laid down to go to sleep leaving Adenium the only one awake in their home as she realizes that she has deep and new feelings for him. Which would explain why she felt emotionally different about him when she first saw him seeing as she refused to get too close to him emotionally other than to keep him safe and healthy. Now that Adenium sees him all grown up her feelings for him are finally awakening which both excites and frightens her because she doesn’t know how he’ll feel about her. Once he realizes he’s an adult he’ll realize that he’s also emotionally changed, though, will those emotions match hers? As she lays there her thoughts swirl around her mind like the snowflakes outside when the wind gets a hold of them as it dances through the sky.

Morning of December the 16th.
The next morning feels like it comes slow enough so that by the time Dark Chocolate wakes up he feels much better and well rested. While slowly opening his eyelids he blushing brightly as he sees Adenium lying in front of him which isn’t normal because she always lays nest to him. Waiting for his vision to clear he realizes that they are just about at eye level with each other which can only mean one thing. Quickly remembering about last night he recalls feeling different than he normally does even after his horrible dream woke him. Dreams might be able to make someone feel emotional, though, they can’t make someone older no matter how hard they try. Filling with joy he happily wiggles his nose a while before he realizes that he’s going to wake Adenium up if he continues. Once he stops wiggling his nose he remembers that he has some fun some games that he wants to play with Adenium even more now that he’s an adult. If he wakes Adenium he’ll ruin the first game that he has planned for today seeing as Adenium might not like it because Dark Chocolate will be out of her sight. As long as he’s out of sight for a good enough reason she doesn’t mind, though, he’s not sure if playing snow games is a good enough reason. Which is why he has to try getting out of their home before she wakes up because he wants to fill this day with wonderful memories that involve only them. Slowly standing Dark Chocolate decides that it’ll be wise if he takes the time to get used to his new and larger body before he goes walking around and even more so waking on snow. By the time he does get used to his being an adult he looks Adenium over while wondering about her Peach which is always on her head. Whenever he looks at it he can’t help but to wonder why she has it and why it’s on her head. That’s when he sees her nostrils and realizes that they must be filled with his scent which means Adenium won’t notice that he’s leaving their home. By the time he gets outside he realizes that Hiroshi Joji left earlier to visit Ruby and Alora to explain what happened last night. Slowly making his way to the start of the path without being seen by the others he wonders how Adenium feels about him now.

While waking Adenium can still smell Dark Chocolate or at least his scent because something seems strange as if it’s cold like the outside. As if the scent is lingering in her nostrils because it had filled with his scent during the night which means he probably isn’t here. Her eyelids flutter open to find nothing but their home in front of her as her heart begins to bear faster she tries to explain his absence when she notices Hiroshi Joji is missing as well. While her heart begins to slow to its normal pace her thoughts organize themselves as she blushes feeling rather silly for worry about an adult who can protect himself. Deeply inhaling his stale scent she begins to think about what Dark Chocolate would do if he woke up before Adenium, realized he’s an adult, and that his scent filled her nostrils all night long. Smiling she can only imagine Dark Chocolate sneaking out to start some sort of game for them to play because it’s the first time he’s ever seen snow. If she had seen sow for the first time she feels that she would want to go outside to make the most of the day. While stretching she wonders where Hiroshi Joji is as she makes her way outside to enjoy the day like Dark Chocolate wants her to. Or at least she thinks that Dark Chocolate wants her to find him because who else would go looking for him if Hiroshi Joji was gone by the time he woke up. If Hiroshi Joji was there he would have woke Adenium up if he woke up to find Dark Chocolate wasn’t there.

While walking towards the lake that Adenium talked about several times he wonders how she’ll take his absence because he doesn’t want her to worry. Though, worry about if she is upset won’t help him make his way to the lake because it’s his first time walking there. As long as he properly recalls everything she told him Dark Chocolate is sure that he’ll get where he is going and won’t end up something else. Even if he does end up someplace else he can always follow his paw prints back and then try again. Knowing that there are so many paths to take he’s sure that it would be more than easy for him to lose his way if he recalls even the smallest detail differently than the way she told him. So taking a few deep breaths he continues to walk in the direction that will hopefully get him to the area of the lake. Having heard her talk about it often enough he figures that it must be one of her favorite areas to visit even if it has been a while since she did go. She’s never been there when it was cold enough to snow because she’s not much older than him. Being a few months older means they will be able to experience basically the same things at the same time such as snow and ice.

With snow everywhere Adenium knows that it’ll be easy enough to follow him because his paw prints will lead her to Dark Chocolate which is where she wants to be. Knowing full well that he would never walk backwards to trick her for any reason because he’s the most helpful creature that she ever meet. Of course, even if there wasn’t snow on the ground she could always follow his scent because the closer he is the fresher his scent will be. Before she does anything she goes back inside their home to get a basket which she can first fill with water and then berries. The berries should become soft enough in the water as she slowly follow his trail because she doesn’t want to splash cold water all over herself. After getting the basket she hurries to the one area where the water hasn’t frozen over so that they still have something to drink when it’s cold enough to freeze all other bodies of water nearby. Once she reaches the area she carefully dips the basket in the water to gather up enough for both of them to drink. It fills quickly so she lifts it up to slowly make her way to the berry bushes which can survive in cold weather. When she reaches them she smiles since they had frozen over from how cold it had gotten which means they will need a while to defrost. Carefully she lowers the basket down where it stands up because the bottom is as flat as one could make it while making it with leaves. Reaching her right paw up she picks one berry at a time so that she doesn’t drop any in the water which is just as cold as the berries if not colder. By the time she finishes picking berries she gently bits the handle of the basket so she can begin to follow Dark Chocolate.

By the time Dark Chocolate makes it to the frozen lake he lays down in front of it while waiting for Adenium to catch up. Which is when he realizes that he left so soon that he hadn’t had time to get something to eat or drink and wonder if Adenium will bring something. Seeing as she would never forget to have breakfast no matter how excited she is to go on a new and exciting adventure. As he waits he reaches his right pas forward to dust away the snow that is covering the frozen lake to hide it from whoever doesn’t know that it’s there which isn’t a good thing. The longer her thinks about the more curious he is to see just how strong the ice is because if it’s strong enough he could take the time to uncover the entire lake which would make a good game if they want to slide around. Walking a bit closer he reaches his left paw out over the lake then slowly lowering it while remembering that it’s going to be freezing cold. So the instant before his paw touches the ice his jaw tightens in an attempt to prepare himself. Once his paw is on the ice he slowly puts more of his weight on it until his paw slips from under him. Having the other three paws on solid ground he’s able to keep himself from falling forward when he thinks of a better way to clear the lake of snow. Quickly spinning himself onto the ice causes him to slide all the way to the middle where he gets up just enough so he can make his way to the other side wondering if Adenium would find this fun. Because if she was here they could meet in the middle, grab onto each other’s front paws, and then help them gain their momentum back. Reaching the other side he does the same to remove the snow from this side so he can get to the other side quicker so that he can wait for Adenium on the side he started on.

By the time she gets to the start of the path she is ready to meet up with Dark Chocolate now that she’s put a lid on the basket. Now that she’s not worried about the water splashing on her she can go as fast as she wants to. As she races after Dark Chocolate she wonders what he’s doing to keep himself busy because the whole reason of this game is for her to find him. Knowing that it’ll take her a while to get there she’s sure he’s found something fun to do, though, if it’s fun he’ll probably wait until she gets there. Which makes her urge to get there grow stronger because she doesn’t want him to wait too long if he has found something fun to do. That and there is a good possibility that he’s worried about what she’ll do once she does catch up to him. Ever since he arrived either Hiroshi Joji and or herself has always kept him in their sight so he’ll probably be worried that she’ll be upset with him. Of course, with Dark Chocolate being able to handle serious situations she’s sure he found a way to keep his mind off of it until she is around for him to talk with. Seeing as there is no need to worry himself about something that he can’t control so he’s better off pushing those thoughts aside for the time being. The closer she gets the less she thinks about what Dark Chocolate could be thinking about and the more she wonders what he thinks about her. Having went out of his way to play this game with her Adenium must wonder if he feels the same way about her as she feels about him.

As Dark Chocolate reaches the area he was when he laid down to wait for Adenium he lays down once again more than ready to wait until she arrives to move around. With his head held high he doesn’t realize how he’ll look once Adenium gets here because he only raises his head to make sure he could hear here once she arrives. While he thinks about Adenium he remembers that she had told him precisely where the lake was which is how he knew where to find it. While Adenium reaches the area she walks over towards the trees to place the basket down seeing as Dark Chocolate is deeply thinking about something. When she get close enough so she can prepare to leap onto his back while he thinks about what it’ll be like to visit this area with Adenium when it’s warmer enough to swim. Seeing as the waterfall is slanted enough that it would make a wonderful water slide that they could slide down by themselves and or together. The waterfall is wide enough for them to slide down together and he would enjoy sliding down the waterfall much more if she was by his side. Seeing as he wants to make as many memories with Adenium as he can even if she isn’t right next to him because he’ll be more than happy as long as she’s close enough to see because he can’t imagine them not being close enough to see each other. By the time Adenium leaps onto his back he quickly stand up while crying out from the shock of someone landing on his back. Having let his thoughts get deep enough so that he couldn’t hear Adenium sneaking up on him makes him blushes because he was supposed to be waiting for her. Even if he hadn’t physically moved his mind wasn’t here at the lake which is why he was so startled when she landed on him. While she leaps off to talk with him he stares ahead of him while he watches her out of the corner of his left eye to see how she reacts to his reaction.

Brightly blushing and smiling seeing as she knew he wasn’t paying attention he would react startled, though, she didn’t know just how startled he would be. Sweetly cooing, “Dark Chocolate, I was wondering what would happened when I finally found you and hoped that you weren’t too worried about what I would think. If I was upset about you not being at home when I woke up I would have sent Hiroshi Joji after you and then you would have been in real trouble.” Walking closer she nuzzles him a few times before she coos, “Having thought that I was going to be upset I feel like you rushes off without having anything to eat or drink so I brought us some breakfast. Luckily before I left our home I thought about that which is why I took the time to gather up just enough water and berries for both of us. While not too much so that I wouldn’t be able to carry it all the way here, yet, it doesn’t mean that I have brought enough that there might be leftovers. If there is we can save them for later once we once again become hungry or thirsty because we might be here most of the day.” Turning towards the basket she begins walking as Dark Chocolate turns to follow her seeming to be more than relived that she isn’t upset with him. While she thinks she realizes the answer to a question she thought of, “When we run out of both berries and water we can return home where we can eat, drink, rest, and relax before we figure out if we want to return or spend the rest of the day lying against each other. Seeing as this place isn’t going anywhere and as far as I know it neither is the snow that’s covering the ground.” Slowing to a stop she lifts the lid off the basket to reveal the now thawed berries and water she had brought for them to share.

As he begins to smile he replies, “My thoughts did get rather deep rather quickly even though I was trying to wait for you so I could figure out if you were upset with me. Now that I know that you’ll not upset with me I feel so much better about leaving our home while you were still asleep. So when you came up behind me I was thinking about how we would go swimming because it was better than me thinking about if you were or weren’t upset. By the time you landed on my back my thoughts were all about you which left me no room to listen to anyone that might be sneaking up on me.” Then realization sinks in, “Oh, so I will have a way to know if you are upset me because you will send Hiroshi Joji after me which means he’ll be just as upset with me. Having you upset with me would be bad enough which means if both you and Hiroshi Joji were upset with me I’d feel horrible about whatever it is that I did.” Nuzzling Adenium he sweetly insists, “Adenium, you should eat and drink your fill before I do because you took the time to remember about breakfast and then you went out of your way to gather enough for both of us. There is no way I would ever take the first of any food or drink if you took the time to gather it up for us or even just me because I will always share whatever I have with you. So when we do run out I would be glad to go back home to help you to gather more berries and water for us to share while we lay against each other in one of our nest beds. Which was a great idea because they keep more of the heat in than just lying on the moss while the moss was another great idea because it’s soft to the touch.” While Adenium begins to eat he thinks about all of the fun snow games they will be able to play once they are done resting because it’s always a good idea to rest a bit after eating and drinking.

Once they finish eating and drinking she happily nuzzles him several times before she coos, “I’m glad that you tried waiting for me and if I remember correctly you held your head high which made you look rather elegant. If I wasn’t in such a playful mood I feel like I wouldn’t have been able to leap onto your back if I wasn’t because of how truly elegant you looked. It was the first time I saw anyone look as elegant as you had so I was almost overcome with your appearance. With you being so still and thinking so deeply it only added to your elegance which would have made it a bit harder to leap on your back. Though, I decided that it was worth it to show you that I wasn’t upset with you like you had thought.” Then nodding her head to agree with him, “If I ever got you upset with me and or you and Hiroshi Joji upset with me I would feel the same way you would because I don’t like upsetting those I care about and probably won’t want to even upset strangers.” While his words swirl around her mind a certain sentence keeping playing in the back of her mind as she blushing she asks, “You were thinking about me while I was sneaking up on you? I have to admit that you’ve been on my mind more often now that you are an adult which leaves less room for me to think about anyone or anything else.” Before she says anything else she changes the subject, “I am very interested in what sort of snow games you have planned for us today because I did notice the lake seems to have any interesting pattern on it where it looks like someone slide across it.” While looking deeply into Dark Chocolate’s eyes she wonders if they will be clearing the snow from the ice so other creatures know it’s there. Once the snow is cleared she knows that they will be able to slide around on it which could be great fun for all she knows.

While she stares into his eyes his face brightens while he stares into her eyes after she explained how elegant he looked with his head held high, “I only raised my head high intending to listen for you arrived, though, you already know that didn’t work. While I had no idea what I looked like until you brought up how you saw me before you leap onto my back. I must admit that if I was the one sneaking up on you I wouldn’t have be able to bring myself to do anything playful to bring you out of your thoughts. Instead I would probably lay down to carefully watch you while waiting for you to realize that I was there as I wonder how someone could look so elegant while lying so still.” The more he spoke about it the brighter his face became before he changed the subject like she had, “Yes, the snow games I have planned start off with clearing the ice so that other creatures know it’s there because it’d be rather unpleasant if they stepped on the ice without knowing it. That way once it’s clear others will know that it’s there in case they want to avoid slipping and sliding all of the place. Once the lake is clear of snow we can purposefully sild around unless you try it and you don’t like it. Then we could do something else because there are other fun snow games I have planned for us to play While I have a plan if you don’t like any of the snow games and or we run out of snow games before we run out of berries and water which would be to go home. That way we could spend the rest of the day curled up next to each other while either talking and or just lying there while keeping warm for the rest of the day.” Before they continue to talk he gets up he waits for Adenium to get up so they can make their way to the lake to begin their first snow game because it does involve snow until it’s all cleared off.

Once they get to the lake she nuzzles against Dark Chocolate before she coos, “If I plan to get over to the other side I will need some help from you because I’ll get over there faster if you spin me over. With this game being about spinning it’ll give me a chance to see if I like it, of course, I know that I should focus on something as I spin which will be you.” Without saying a word she lifts her front paws up after she gave Dark Chocolate enough time to think everything through. Once he takes hold of her paws it only takes a few seconds before he moves causing her to spin across the frozen lake. While she slides she happily squeals as she has a wonderful time spinning which explains why Dark Chocolate had more than one reason for wanting to slide across the ice. The ice is cold, though, the cold is worth it to spend time with someone she loves as much as she loves Dark Chocolate. Of course, they won’t be in one place too long enough to get too cold or so she hopes because it might get better once they get to meet in the middle. They will be able to stare into each other’s eyes until they let go to get to the other side. By the time she gets to the other side she wonders how long they will be able to play this game and or how long they will have to rest afterwards. When she realizes that he’s waiting for her she blushes while she gets ready while he does the same and once they are they leap onto the ice at an angle that causes them to spin towards each other. As they reach each other she lifts her paws up at the right moment then lowers them in time for Dark Chocolate to grabs them and as they look into each other eyes they almost loses themselves. Before they do lose themselves they let go as they spin in opposite directions to safely and softly slide into the slightly slanted part of the lake.

After what feels like hours later they meet up on the side with the berries and water where they rest for who knows how long. Once they’ve rested long enough they finish off the berries and water which means they have to go home to get more. Deeply inhaling, waiting a while, and then deeply exhaling Dark Chocolate replies, “This has been one of the best days I have ever had because I get to spend it with you and only you. While sliding across the ice we learned that we are perfectly in sync with each other or we wouldn’t have been able to catch each other at the right moment each and every time.” Looking over at the basket he almost frowns, “No matter how fun something is I know it has to end sooner or later of course it’s sooner than later for us because we ran out of berries and water. We’ll have to head home to get more so I might as well offer to carry you because it’s the least I can do after you so kindly brought breakfast. I hope that tomorrow I can bring you breakfast before we hopefully come back here to continue our snow games.” Walking over he gently picks up the basket before he lays down while she climbs onto his back and once she’s comfortable enough he gets up to quickly make his way home. It hasn’t snowed lately so he’ll be able to follow their paw prints all the way home which will be so much easier than walking to the lake.
