Another door as Jin glanced at the other silhouettes that slowly filed their way down, it was eerie watching them all move slowly their feet lumbering forward by some other control. It was only a dream Jin told himself as the door grew closer as a shiver crawled along his skin. There was a pounding in his heart, growing as he grew even closer his hand trembling as his hand reached the doorknob turning it slowly. It was all a dream wasn’t it?

The room was white, unfamiliar as a shape, a person stood in the center of the room and before Jin could give a gasp of surprise it moved taking hold of his wrist.

Dusk, just the word made his skin crawl as he stepped through the portal again, weapon in hand as if prepared for s**t to hit the fan completely. For the last year the hunters had found a weak spot, a place where the horseman hadn’t realized that they had a flaw in their so called defense system allowing the hunters to come and go unseen. They had been slowly observing and studying them trying to gain more of an advantage in fighting them over the passing days and despite being a slow process they had been able to make some improvements while sabotaging the horseman. It was a risk, it was even more of a risk every time Jin stepped into their world. There was a chance that the horseman could realize that they were there, a chance that they would finally attack and there was little that Jin could do but hopefully defend himself or get out of there.

Death would mean never seeing them again, and despite every ounce of argument the blonde had put up Jin had found himself wanting to reassure himself that he would return to both of them unharmed. Taking his phone out of his pocket he flipped it open giving a faint smile to himself as he looked at the picture of Wan and Jacob grinning behind the hint of Jin’s fingers. He could still remember Wan stealing his phone to take the photo as he tried to pry it free from her hands. It wasn’t the best picture, hell, it was awful but they both looked happy and it was all Jin had wanted. Taking a moment he sent them both a text, hoping that it would make it to them even though it was a begrudgingly reply to catching dinner with them later. Tucking the phone safely back into his pocket he glanced around wiping the smile from his face before moving to help some of the other lab techs in setting up the mobile equipment.

Jin was wiping the dirt from his hand before noise erupted from the left side, horseman, they had finally found them as hunters started to bolt. Someone screamed to his right as Jin blindly scrambled to his feet, the trident in hand as his flip flops smacked across the ground. There was a noise and before he could even skid himself to a stop something with large feathered wings slammed into him causing Jin to sprawl across the ground. Everything in him hurt and as the glasses set askew on his nose, the other figure was quicker as it snatched its small blade from the ground to sink it into the unprotected side. A scream escaped his lips as violet eyes looked up, swinging the trident wildly in hopes of dislodging the creature from him.

The ground rumbled, screams were soon drowned out by a loud noise as Jin stared wide-eyed at the ball of flame consuming everything as the heat rushed forward.

Jin woke with a start, sitting straight up as a cold sweat crept along his skin as hand clutched Jacob’s tightly as if trying to keep it from shaking violently. Glancing at Wan studied her face as he tried to calm his breath, trying to convince himself that it was all a bad dream.
