Looks like I missed everything again. She gave an annoyed glance at the nearby early birds and wandered away to do her training. So far, it was just a normal day. Nothing felt different or particularly exciting.
After training, the feeling was still the same and she had changed into some basic clothes, dragging her groggy body along the corridors of the main building. "Mmmm..." It was becoming routine, humdrum and boring. Years ago when she'd been recruited they sold her on the idea that she would be out fighting monsters and protecting the world. What a damn waste of time, all this amounts to is military nonsense. It wasn't what it was supposed to be, she felt like she was back in school as she walked along the hallway in a daze. Nothing looked real to her anymore, they were just nameless faces now.
Maybe it was the training, or the endless hours, or the missions... or her roommates or... Iyari found herself outside, looking for solace from her thoughts and she moved to one of the many cliff sides of the island, staring down at the water with a sigh. She was tired, so tired of it all. Her hair had become dull and that competitive spirit crushed against the waves of expectation and lies. Absorbed and annoyed, Iyari didn't notice the cracking noise. Nor the small rumble under her legs. The sliding of the earth under her didn't even phase her numbing mind until the earth began to wash over her.
"s**t."
Athena reacted first and appeared as her body began to slide and she stabbed her into the cliffside, holding on to her. Fatigue, annoyance and everything was weighing down and she clung to the kopis blade with both hands and as Athena screamed in her ear, she felt something crack. Something like inside, breaking again.
...And like that, Athena snapped and Iyari felt her body fall from the cliffside. Tired. Bored. Angry. And now nothing like that blaze in glory she was promised or talked to about. What had she been after anyways? Understanding? Accolades? Power? I just wanted to do something dammit. The thought was gone as she slammed down into the water, feeling the fear shield bashed against the rocks until the inevitable...

When it popped, she was taken into the rocks and the dark sea. Guess death is going to be boring too, huh?
