[ JOB LISTING ] Inventory Manager
[ DIFFICULTY LEVEL ] gaia_star gaia_star gaia_star
[ TASK ] Monitor and list all incoming and outgoing inventory.

"Okay, look," the manager seems very irritated. "We just had two trucks come in and drop off their goods. Our current help mixed the boxes up."

He hands you a clip-board. "I need you to check each box's invoice and decide where it goes. If the invoice says 'Cavalry' you just put an X here," he points to the bottom left corner of the paper, "and have those idiots stack it over there. Don't actually count Cavalry boxes in the total number of boxes on the form. If it says anything else on the box, I need you to open it and make sure the invoice matches. Fill out your report when you're done."

Roll 8 d4: These are the boxes, and there are 8 of them. For each box follow the instructions below and RP accordingly.
--If you roll doubles, it means you have two of that particular box and need to follow it's instructions twice. Same with triples, etc.

  1. This box says it holds one complete silver dinner set. Roll 1 d10 to see what's missing.
    -----If you roll a:
    -------1. Everything is there.
-------2. It is missing the gravy boat.
-------3. Two spoons are no where to be found.
-------4. One serving platter is listed, but not in the box.
-------5. Three forks have magically disappeared.
-------6. One spoon and on butter knife are missing.
    -------7. Everything is there.
    -------8. Two plates are missing.
-------9. There are NO forks in this set. WHAT?!
-------10. Everything is there, but the large serving platter has a huge gouge on it. Best make a note.

  2. This box is supposed to hold on large grandfather clock. Best check for damages. Roll 1 d6. If even it's in perfect condition. If odd the glass on the front is broken. You had better make a note.

  3. Three large tapestries from the year 1400. Roll 1 d4. If you roll a 1 or 2, one tapestry is missing. If you roll a 3, they all have water damage. If you roll a 4, everything looks good!

  4. This box is labeled "Cavalry". No need to check the contents, simply RP ordering the part-timers to stack it in the corner.

When you are done checking all 8 boxes, fill out the form below and post it in your last post.

Zere was back to do a bit more inventory management for the manager, and was shown a room before the manager promptly left, apparently having more important things to do.

Immediately, Zere spotted two boxes that were clearly marked for cavalry, and set them aside for the assistants to take care of later.

He smiled, counting six boxes that were left.

Hopefully... nothing was too badly damaged out of this shipment, considering the shape that the other shipments had been in.

Three boxes were supposed to be grandfather clocks, so he opened them to reveal that two were in very good condition, but the third looked like it had been through a wood chipper.

It was nothing but wood chips.

Really?

What the hell.

Shaking his head, Zere moved that to a different side, marking it with a big red X so that everyone would know it wasn't a box to resell.

Only one box was supposed to have silverware in it, so Zere opened it and counted the set, frowning as he realized that there were three forks missing.

He tilted his head in confusion. Why would someone just take the forks? It made no sense to him.

The last two boxes were labeled to be tapestries, so Zere opened them up and pinched his nose as an acrid smell wafted up from the box.

He stood and kicked it away, sending water sloshing over the edge of the box as the tapestry floated inside. There were creatures living in that water!

Whoever had delivered these had a sick sense of humor, for sure -- one that Zere wasn't sure he quite appreciated.

As far enough as he could stand, he used his foot to nudge the box next to the box of wood chips/grandfather clock, then walked over to fill out the form for the manager.

He wasn't going to touch those water filled boxes again, even with a ten foot pole.
