All of a sudden, the surface she was standing on lit up, grey crystals' dim lights shone from underneath. Clidua saw a weird scene, things - shapes all went towards one direction. When she wondered why their sizes remained the same, she realized she was walking forward as well.
Wanted to halt her step but she couldn't, she felt uneasy. From the front far far away, she saw something. Squinted her eyes to get a clearer picture, it was a door and she was walking towards it. Upon a closer distance with it, her heart uncontrolled bounced quicker together came a non-describable pressure developed. When she still had no idea, her body reacted first. the cold sweat told her it was something dangerous and she shall stay away from it -
- As if she could. Eventually her breath became difficult, like suffered from a severe illness. The images in front of her blurred and her vision narrowed, it felt hard to manage, soon all she was able to see were pinprick-like shadows.
Clidua had her body's control taken over by the unknown, manipulating her to walk to the door. Clidua was never a person who loves to follow orders, so she fought back. She wanted to stop but her legs continued to move. It made her very frustrated, she even didn't realize her hand reached the door already and it was pushing it open.....
In contrast to the beginning of the dream, behind the door was a white room. The only existence in the room immediately caught her attention. Just like how you scramble one or two letters in a common word and you could still read it without problem, the misshapen shape felt almost like a person.
Clidua noticed they carried a drifting black fragment as they moved closer, an alarm ringed loud within her mind when she saw the grey shadows churned below them. Her eyes could only stare as they pressed their skeletal hand against her skin -
======================================================
It didn't take long for Clidua to reach the specialized hunter rank, she was quite aggressive in personality. She enjoyed what authority meant in Deus: access to secretive information, better living standards and ability for others to obey. The petite Moon loved to see when fear and respect written on people's faces.
Her ultimate target was the division leader, she knew it took a very long time to prove herself worthwhile for such a role. Clidua did have a concrete plan and she had been achieving her goal step-by-step. While she admired Aidel, she needed to surpass the Moon Assistant to move forward.
She carried out some projects and actively participated in external missions. Enjoyed excitement, the petite woman made her name by glorious battle records against their enemies. Many souls got harvested beneath her axe, and eventually she was entrusted more dangerous tasks like investigating horsemen territory and the main force in rescue missions.
Even she possessed the quality of a great huntress, her personal relationship was a big mess. Her bad quirks of flirting with men caused her many troubles, not that Clidua was annoyed by that, she secretly enjoyed watching people suffered. Often involved in love triangles or affairs, grudge slowly built up among the victims whereas she continued to play men's hearts around. Being loved felt wonderful, it pleased her so much when they said they could die for her. Clidua was such a sinful woman like that.
The only man she actually trusted by her own heart was her twin brother, Roman. Their relationship was somehow unique, quite different from normal siblings in which they were as intimidate as lovers. Countless times her men asked if they were real sibling, the petite woman always replied with a smile. She knew if they went to ask Roman, they would find out the truth so her answer was unnecessary.
Clidua judged every single woman approaching her dear Roman with affection. As a woman, it was easy for her to distinguish if a female loved her brother or not. If one woman had to take Roman from her, she'd better be the best woman she had ever seen. Yet, those girls were below average in her opinion thus she got rid of them. Her brother didn't need pests to bother him at all.
It was all a mistake.
When she couldn't help the blood rushing out between her lips, she gritted her teeth and didn't allow herself to show a clue of pain in front of that b***h. Her eyes lit with hostility and untamed wrath, she was too careless when she mentioned the drink was from Roman.
That woman swatted her hand off the trail of her coat and feigned a surprising scream. The toxic drink had already split over on the floor, that detestable b***h had planned for that, for her death.
She shouldn't neglect her instinct just because she was a friend and a comrade of Roman. Before drawing people's attention, she was whispered near her ear that she could take good care of her brother and they would make a perfect family. If Roman had to be tainted by that woman, she'd rather killed him by her own.
One was calling her name urgently inside her mind, the man who was always calm - she was happy to make him so panic but never thought it would be in a situation like that. Her vision began to blur, Clidua still locked her glare on the evil woman. People gathered at Cafeteria with the fake screech, wrapped around where she collapsed. It was hard to restrain coughing blood as her organs were badly damaged, her stomach felt like burning by inferno.
While Clidua held all the agony within and swatted away hands that wanted to bring her to infirmary, Roman showed up from afar. Her expression softened for a tad and a weak smile was given to her darling brother. Only he can melt her toughness and bring her sweetness side out.
She wanted to call his name affectionately and parted her lips but all she managed to do was coughing more bloods. He rushed towards her side with worries painted on his face and held her in his bosom. "Do I look awful?" It was the first words she struggled to say, with Roman, there were always miracles. Giggled, she raised a trembling hand to touch his face and then another to draw him closer. Clidua raised another smile as he seemed to calm down.
"You're so bad at lies, like always. Roman, listen carefully -" Her eyes found it hard to focus, "That Laura is a bad woman, she cheated me and gave me a poisonous drink. Stay away from her." She took another difficult breathe. "I can't be on your side anymore, sorry. Roman, promise me, don't forget me, okay?"
Clidua then closed her eyes with satisfaction in his hug. Even she was dying, Laura could never lay a finger on her brother.
NEVER.
