While there was certainly never any shortage of activity brewing around the campsite he'd stumbled upon only a few short days ago, Takuma was pacing like only a caged animal could. He was probably supposed to be resting and recovering from his trek through the Fire Tribe lands. But so many different things were flowing through his mind, most of which were too fast for even the tah himself to focus on. Why had he been brought here? Was the Weaver trying to test them? How was he supposed to do anything with the motley bunch he'd come to? Could he even do anything for them?
Yes. He knew that answer. It vibrated through his very paws and up into his bones. Yes he could do something for them. He was meant to do something for them.
But were they ready for it? Was he ready for it?
Build an army.
Words that forever haunted him whispered across his mind, making his fur bristle and ears flatten back against his skull. Golden eyes glowered at anyone that was nearby. He was fairly confident there were at least some warriors among their ranks. But army material? The crimson tah snorted. And then a heavy sigh escaped.
He didn't know much about those gathering here. And he knew even less about the cub. Feng. His feet finally began to slow in their pacing as he thought on the cub he'd met. Could he really be the one the Weaver chose?
Frowning, Takuma stopped moving to glance around. He needed more information. Someone he could speak with. Preferably someone that wasn't daft and who could actually provide him with possible answers to his questions. And... there was someone that came to mind. He had yet to seek them out, having just arrived here. But there was no better time then the present.
Mind made up and paws already carrying his large frame in a general direction, the crimson tah headed in search of the camp's tactician. Perhaps they could help ease some of the doubt in his mind? Maybe. He wasn't going to keep his toes crossed.

The business of the day had finally started to settle with the help of the setting of the lands fire sun. A refreshing breeze slipped to the air and gently brushed and lifted the papers that the Tactician's golden eyes rested on. Ebony ears tilted back slightly as the Nahtlil's careful telekinesis thoughts kept the pages from dancing away. Elegant tail shifted in a thoughtful sway as she went over the young lord's work. The young leader was progressing well with his lessons, and becoming proficient in writing.
The crimson maned and alabaster pelted Nahtlil released a soft breath as she pulled herself from her work. She sat alone and poised, as she did every ending day, to prepare for the next to come. It was a daily ending ritual and most of the camp knew where to find the Tactician, just on the edge of camp. It was Solitary and peaceful. It made it easy, the Nan found for those that wanted to speak to in confadance to do so with her. So she remained in the same spot, for those that needed to could find her. It was close enough to the camp to know what was going on, yet not close enough for any curious ears.
Closing her eyes, she took in the gentle breeze of the fire lands. It was about time to take a break from going over her student's work. She had yet to go over and prepare the next day's lessons for the young lord.
A small peaceful smile rested on Xian's maw as her other half kept coming to her thoughts. It was usually a good sign for the Nahtil to take a break, when she could not fend off her thoughts of Oni any longer. She hoped he was well....

He wasn't completely sure where to seek out the one who had been deemed "tactician" of this group, but after a couple grumbled questions, Takuma found himself wandering through more of the camp. There were many things that kept the frown increasing on the tah's face. Most unsettling was the tired look he could see in many of the eyes of those he passed. It was as if the very soul was being sucked out of the b'alam taking up residence in this camp. This both unsettled and rankled the former second-in-command. These were the individuals he had once been tasked with protecting! And now? He wasn't sure how to accomplish that with things the way they were.
A heavy sigh escaped his maw, tail beginning to drag along the ground as his footsteps grew more defeated once again. Maybe he should have allowed himself to rest a bit longer? But Takuma knew, it was impossible for him to do so. If there was something he could be working at, he would undertake the task.
Glancing up, the large tah paused. Wasn't this where he'd been told to seek out the tactician? Ears perking forward just a little, he cautiously continued forward. His gaze was captured by a white and black nan, which made him halt in his steps. Tilting his head, the crimson tah frowned even harder. She almost seemed familiar, yet he was sure he'd never met the nan before. Snorting to himself, he gave himself a great shake before picking his head up and approaching the nan with more dignity. Or what he hoped passed for some.
"Pardon the intrusion, dear lady, but I am seeking the one whom this camp calls the Tactician?" If she wasn't the one he was interested in finding, he hoped the Weaver threw him a small break in the form of this nan knowing exactly who he was to find. [ Radical Dreamer ] I am so sorry for the long delay in responding, please forgive me ;n;

Ebony ear turned back and elegant eyes opened as Xian heard the tug of words calling to her. Gracefully the Nantlil turned around to face the larger crimson Tah. Her careful brow rose with intrigue, she knew him-a face and maw was never forgotten by the tactician. A curse and a blessing...
Fan and tail shifted a little in the air to become posed in front of her and at her chest.
"Ah, Tah Takuma." Xian smiled pleasantly, her gentle eyes relaxed and welcome his closer. The pristine fan shifted a little as if to beckon him gracefully.
"Fire burn with in you." She then greeted. Her smile grew at the given title of 'tactician', her tail shifted the fan a bit more. It wasn't any title she gave herself, but what others called her. " I have been known to be called as such, but you may call me Xian." Xian let the young lord's general know gently.

The longer he gave himself to observe this nan, the more he felt as if he'd seen her before. Though, there was no reason that he could surmise as to why. Unless she'd been on of his soldiers before? No, that couldn't be right. While there was indeed the sharpness of a mind he dare not cross, Takuma didn't believe this nan would have survived his training. She was too... pristine. So perhaps somewhere else then?
"And within you." He murmured. Giving his head a small shake, the big tah managed a mildly sheepish smile. "Ah, forgive me then. I find I am at the mercy of what the camp names us." Xian. He had heard that name before.
"By the Weaver's good grace, you are the one I seek, Xian." Whatever familiarity he had with the nan, the general brushed it aside for a much more business like manner. One that had been drilled into him as a young cub. "I come to hear your own words as to what you think of this ragtag bunch of refugees." Takuma paused, choosing his next words with a little more care. "And what your expertise whispers, deep in your soul, about this young one... Feng." Was he worthy? Was he the reason the Weaver had decided to drop him among these survivors?
Fire be with them, there were several he felt had potential. With just the right amount of training, and maybe a dash of hope and pride restored once more.
And, just maybe, follow the final orders given him by his commander. [Radical Dreamer] My goodness, I am so sorry that I fail at tagging things beyond 'slow as molasses' OTL

Xian's bright eyes watched the large Crimson Tah with a glace of amusement as she seemed to understand he was sizing her up in a way. Her careful and elegant maw parted a little with a tame grin. It was easy to see why Oni chose this one...
His spirit was dripping with skepticism...
The fan at her chest shifted a little as she had to keep a faint chuckle from leaving her maw. She was inwardly delighted to be able to finaly meet Oni's trusted warrior. White tail shifted with a little flick...
Oh, how she missed her beloved.
Blinking, Xian still her fan as she listened to Tah Takuma.
"Well, As for titles, I believe you are known as our General" The fan shifted a little to gesture to the Large Tah before her. "...Tah Takuma. " The Tactician chuckled a little.
Her elegant tail shifted with a little flick.
"And as for your soldiers, " The Nan smiled gently, referring to the 'ragtag group' he addressed. "I have faith in them as they have faith in following your teachings and trust in you, as our warlord does and what Lord Feng has placed especially in you." Xian spoke wisely and carefully.
White tail shifted a little, as the Tactician watched the General thoughtfully and waiting for any refute or other questions that may comeKyrieko I win for lateness. Sorry about that
