Here he was. His badge had been taken away from him. Suspended until all the s**t could be cleared up.
If it could.
A monitor strapped to his ankle. So that they could keep an eye on him.
He hated this. All of it.
Despite the setbacks, there was still more he could do. He was just going to need to be careful about it. It wouldn't be easy, with the way the system was working against him. But he was damned determined to find a way.
While he tried to come up with a plan, his phone was all but ignored. Texts and calls were left unanswered and unread, unless it seemed like an emergency. Even when he went out, he spoke to no one unless he absolutely had to. He didn't need to communicate with any of them. There was little point in it, he felt. He didn't need people sending him sympathy or words of hope... or words that were damning him either for that matter.
It wasn't going to stop him. He had work to do, and he didn't need those distractions, anyway.

Shun began small. He dug through online news archives and obituaries for signs of activity done by the Kuroda family in New York City. He wanted an idea of who was out for certain to try and shorten his list of suspects. It wouldn't help him for any newcomers, but chances were this wasn't one of those. Not unless the fresh blood was particularly... talented.
Jeremiah had insisted that magic was involved.
He wasn't sure yet. He hadn't really heard of anything that signified for certain that magic was mixing in with all of this. No one had gotten a clear look at the culprit's face, from his understanding.
