Ruulu Post 1
So her Mother had brought her to Tale to visit family. She was somewhat tired of having to give the stinkeye to snobbish leaflings for giving her odd looks in the first place. She pointed at her circlet of crystals and raised her eyebrows, they had no way of knowing she was half leaf but her hair was a very dark shade of reddish brown, one would think that would give them a clue, and her mother was with her duh.
If anything else they shared the same facial expressions. She wasn't adopted they could just stop looking at her like that. She was busy glancing around when she noticed a few people looking at someone else, piqued but curious she wondered who could possibly be more interesting than she herself. As it tuned out it was an oddly dark leafling but the crystals and eyes were there so it must be what he was even with such red hair. well who was she not to share attention. "Hello my name is Ruulu, do you know why everyone is staring at us?"

Tsallin looked up at the most interesting looking person he had ever seen, how convinient that she was a youngling too and such much more approachable than if she had been an adult. 'Well I expect it is because we are hybrids, I'm part Oban from my Father and my Mother is leaf." No need to mention that his parents were both unique in their own way. She needn't know that yet.
"Are you visiting here too?" He wondered if both her parents were mixed or if she were some other sort. Looking again at the curious younglings surrounding them he added, "You know it could just be because we are new too."

Oban? Really, how fascinating! Ruulu decided she wanted this boy's attention all to herself. She grabbed his hand and tugged him along to a more private area. "Sorry, I just wanted to have a better conversation with you," she looked down then back up at him into those vibrant green eyes. "I er... I'm visiting from Jauhar actually, that is where my family lives now."
She was delighted that he seemed to be concentrating more fully on her now, after all she and he should be the center of attention but also the center of each other's attention. "Do you hail from Oba then? I think it would be a lovely place to go myself, so much heat, I think my kinfa would like it."

He let her tow him along amused at her strong personality. He wished he was a little more like her, more brave more daring, less well chicken. In any case he was grateful to be away from the crowd anyway. "I am from Oba yes, I was born there along with my twin brother Olliandr. I know my own kinfa likes it, I see him out there with his wings spread basking in the sun in fact, however he is enjoying the vast about of bugs to be chased and eaten here, I could spend hours watching him hunt for them.
He loved his kinfa, he was his best friend aside from his brother. "Does your kinfa like Jauhar at all? I hear the bugs are much bigger there."

Oh he had a kinfa too! She was so excited. "I think she likes it there, I think she would appreciate more open air though, its a little tight under the canopy but she is still super small yet, which is good because she can be in my room to keep the bond close while we are both young. I can't wait until she gets bigger and I can fly and ride her and rule the skies," she paused to catch her breath. "I plan to be a terror from the skies as a rider, I just don't know which spear to pick; the trident, the crystal spear itself or the lance. My parents are all sword people, but my aunt chose a spear. If a spear is what it takes to ride then a spear it is!"
She fidgeted a little wondering what he would think of her spiel.

He had the oddest feeling that this girl didn't talk to too many people and liked even less people so he was half preening that she liked him! This brave creature had sought him out to have a discussion about his favorite topic. "Is that what you can do with a kinfa? Rule the skies?" He blinked, he had never thought about that before. "What if we had an aerial force how unstoppable would we be in battle?"
He paused, "As for which weapon I think it is a very personal choice. For you I think the lance would suit, it is the lightest and most vicious in my opinion. I think it is the weapon I will go for as well."

You know this boy had a point about the lance, it did rather suite her personality didn't it. She preened back at him. This was now her favorite earthing, interesting that he was part oban and likeable she had heard...things from others about their temperament, but well she herself was a little prickly wasn't she?
This boy she wanted to follow. "Hey when you go home, would you like to be pen pals? We could send messages maybe through our kinfa even?"

"That sounds like a lot of fun, we can share kinfa raising tips and spoil each other's birds and be prepared for visits and such you know." He thought this was a fantastic idea, now he had a friend who lived in Jauhar which sounded completely exotic, a huge rainforest full of strange wet weather creatures and people. He was all but drooling.
"Its a deal, lets do it!"

Ruulu high fived him and settled into more calm talking mode, like her father often dropped into. After her mother side had gotten her way her father side usually surfaced and it was rare for her to show it to someone else.
"So do you have a girlfriend yet here? Any likely prospects?" She hadn't found a good friend that was a boy at home yet, her brother did not count and well she had seen a few cute shifters, but the one was a little old for her, she did still want his radaku though it had been awesome.

Tsallin coughed at the unexpected comment. "Well no I haven't really thought about girls at all, I only have a brother you see and well we don't travel that much I usually go with mom to the market. But shes the only girl I ever hang out with." Until now anyway. "Does your brother have a girlfriend yet?" He couldn't believe they were talking about this. But as they both understood it a girlfriend or boyfriend was just a best friend of the opposite gender and family didn't count. They were weird unspoken rules but that was alright.
"I like traveling it gives you a better choice of friends I guess."

"Yes and riding kinfa will let us travel a lot, do you think we may be partners one day? I would be good to go into battle with someone I can trust by my side don't you think?" She tilted her head inquiringly, she was a planner alright everything big like this needed a plan and effort put in to get there.
She also didn't like many people as a general rule, so she fished around and found a small stone she had picked up that day that she liked. "Here, a promise that we will meet again."

He accepted the stone with a decided blush, "Thank you," he stammered out. There wasn't much really special about the stone but he held it in his palm like a large diamond. "I promise too."
She was sort of sweet in her own planning to take over the world way and he liked it. It was brave it was adventurous and he thought that maybe with time he could be brave and adventurous too.

She beamed at him, "So where do your grandparents live? I assume like me that is who you are visiting if you live in Oba, one would think there was a grandparent festival going on."
She was sure there was no such thing but it seemed like there could be due to the amount of people coming to Tale. "So what do you do for fun? Do you adventure, read, swim, hike? Tease bandits and run perhaps?"
He was pretty interesting looking too with his bull horn hair and his diamondy crystals.

"They live here in town just a few houses over that way, I think Mom is real excited to see them and to show me off. I am according to her adorable." He shrugged, "They seem fun." They fed him sweet things, there was nothing wrong with that.
"How long are you visiting for do you know?" He hoped that she stayed for a while, or at least as long as he did. It would be no fun to have to go make new friends when this was going so well. She had such pretty eyes too, different than his own or his brothers, almost a turquoise color.

"A month I think, Mom needed some time to visit her parents too, she hasn't seen much of them for a long long time, not since my older brother and sister were born really." Her brow furrowed, not to mention all the chaos that had happened to her mother in between now and then, but she was stable again and quite happy with her lot in life and Ruulu expected that was all she could ask for for her mother; happiness.
"I expect when I become a teenager she will be running back here more often then not." Ruulu chuckled a little, she didn't know what was coming but she knew it would be big.
