Golden eyes peering skyward followed the large dark figure of a goddess that was hurdling through the sky and towards the ground. His eyes widened as she reached the surface of the earth with a soft thud. Obviously the wings she likely had had slowed her descent enough to protect her from any major harm.
"Oof." Could audibly be heard from their distance.
"Like I said, you should see this goddess." The lioness had been quiet spoken, kind and easy to read so far. Yet she appeared to have a twisted sense of humor that Ali hadn't quite expected. "Okie dokie." He remarked, not entirely sure what he would see, but this was an opportunity to cement the rumors of gods existing. Ali was becoming a lion of many things, one of those things was not believing in something he couldn't see.
Rumors ruled his life.
The only way to satisfy his addiction was prove the rumors as truth, preferably. Would the goddess be large, make him feel overwhelmed? Or would they be like any other lion. The way Moyo was talking he figured them to be a common sort of thing here - for him this was intriguing. "Lead the way .. does she have a name?" He wondered this briefly. "It's Krisis."
He confirmed hearing her with a firm nod and then the pair began to move again, the pace was slow and steady. It seemed the shore pride didn't rush for anything - he felt a might jittery waiting for the lioness to show him the way and finalize his thoughts on a goddess. "What is she like?" Would she smite him? He wondered this part silently as they walked. It was always a fifty/fifty on how someone reacted to being poked and prodded, he certainly hadn't always been this pushy about things.
"Right over there." Moyo raised a paw and indicated the direction of a rather disgruntled looking heap of lioness. Then a wing moved and his eyes widened. "Disgruntled heap of goddess is more like it." He muttered, but hadn't realized he'd said such things out loud.
"EXCUSE me?!"
The goddess was seated. Mane was all over the place, a tiara (or that's what it looked like) was basically hanging from it's 'proper' place and sand or dirt was everywhere. Ali had froze and was simply staring at her now, losing to a bit of panic that washed over him. "I. Said. E-X-C-U-S-E me." She stared at him. "Did I stutter?" The emotion that radiated from her wasn't pure anger though, it was frustration. A goddess should have been perfectly capable of navigating the skies and yet the growth in her belly had made it a little awkward - being her first time and all she wasn't sure what to expect with pregnancy.
"I'm.. uh ..sorry."
Ali stumbled over the words and Moyo, betraying her silence, giggled. The giggle earned her a look that could have killed. "Sorry." She piped up quickly, but couldn't manage to wipe the smirk off your face.
"I'm just a little clumsy right now."
The goddess snorted in disgust at her circumstances and began to right her appearances slightly which received a quiet response from Moyo. "You missed a spot." Krisis looked up, glaring at her but did try to fix it. "A little more.." Moyo suggested. "Just a little more...."
"Enough."
Krisis verbally put her foot down and tried to fix her tiara which was firmly knotted in her mane. "Are you just going to stand there Moyo?" She asked abruptly. "No, no.. of course not Princess." Her vibrant pink eyes rolled in their socket and Ali had to quickly raise a paw to stifle a laugh. "Here, let me.."
Moyo rested on her haunches and began to reach at her tiara. The piece was definitely stuck in there - how that had happened - she could have sat there and guessed all evening. "Was this your first fall?" The voice surprised both females as Ali spoke up. "I mean there is no way you ended up like this from just one fall." These weren't the questions he had anticipated he would be asking upon first meeting a goddess and yet they were the questions he felt compelled to ask. "My bigger question is why?"
"The answer to all of those questions is quite simple...." Krisis started, but was interrupted.
It was Moyo who interrupted. "Let me guess. It's none of our business." A soft snort sounded from the lioness as she responded. Ali grew amused that even with all of the sass radiating from Moyo she still seemed so gentle. "Yes, as a matter of fact that is the correct answer." Krisis snapped at Moyo and let her red-orange glare fall to her again. "Did you fix it?"
Moyo had been fiddling with her tiara while the three bickered. Fiddling was a poor term to use considering that usually meant the individual was getting somewhere. "I think we need to cut it." Krisis, who had continued to glare, suddenly found herself wide eye and silenced.
"You. Wouldn't. Dare."
She exhaled slowly, trying to remain calm. The look that Moyo wore was serious. Serious enough to convince Krisis that she meant every word and the silence seemed to simply seal the deal.
"Oh Krisis.. I'm just KIDDING." The lioness suddenly burst into laughter which Ali followed nervously. The look on the goddess' face was pale, ill and broken.
"I need to stand." Krisis said and chose to back away a little bit from Moyo. "Actually, I think I need to lay down. Don't do that to me Moyo!" She was breathing quickly and trying to calm herself. Clearly she was a high maintenance individual, goddess or not. Or were all of them like that? Ali had grown more curious.
Krisis stood, as she promised. "I'm going to go home and pretend like none of this happened. But you, who are you?" She stared at Ali. "He's Ali`dido, a visitor." Moyo answered before Ali could even get a word in edge wise.
"What she said."
He said and waved a paw awkwardly. "Well, Ali, I hope you have a horrible time." She snorted at him and turned tail to return home.
"They aren't all like that.. goddesses I mean..?"
"No. Krisis is just high maintenance."
Moyo chuckled to herself lightly. "Cmon, let me show you where you can stay for the evening." The lioness stood and began to lead the way again. The rest of their travels remained uneventful - fortunately for him - Ali was growing weary, watching a goddess get picked on was awfully exhausting.
