Golden eyes popped open quickly at a sudden and nearby crack. The green, goopy looking lion had taken it upon himself to seek a place to rest for the evening and that place happened to be the edge of the jungle that had nearly killed him. He wondered briefly if the crack was simply Kukesha. Perhaps she was lost in the jungle and had only feigned at knowing her way around - which seemed unlikely. The only other explanation would be that someone... or perhaps worse.. someTHING was out there. Fortunately his colors helped to camouflage him a small amount.

CRRRRRAACK.

The sound made him cringe. What could possibly be making that much noise? The wonder was growing and he could barely contain himself to his spot anymore, but the threat of it being something large helped him to maintain his lack of movement. CRACK. This time it was much closer, to close. He'd soon have to face his enemy, the large and ghastly creature it might be.

So with all of his agility and as much confidence as he could muster he jumped up, fluffed his fur to make himself as large as possible, before demanding to know who was there.

"Whoever you are!" He began slowly. "Come out and face me like a lion."

Ali`dido hoped he had conveyed the confidence that he didn't feel. Sometimes that was enough to startle away opposing creatures.. other times they got closer.

Then it appeared as though a shadow among the trees had moved. CRACK. Closer this time, much closer. Another shadow appeared to skirt around him, and again. CRACK. The sound was directly beside him and Ali would admit this to no one, but he was shaking now.

"Who are you?"

The smallest voice came from the shadows surrounding him. A soft and gentle sound that he still couldn't locate. It sent a shiver down his spine that he hadn't expected. "I'm Ali`dido." He admitted as quickly as he could - though his mouth had begun to dry up. Suddenly a pair of pink orbs seemed to appear before him, not 5 feet away. He could smell her now - how he hadn't been able to before was beyond him, perhaps fear had taken over. "Who are you?" He asked her, suddenly feeling more relaxed, but not entirely.

"Moyo`tamu." She responded quietly. "Why do you look about to wet yourself?" She queried and he watched as her eyes looked him over. "I do not." His brow furrowed, but Ali knew she was likely right.

"Oh, my mistake." She remarked casually and finally stepped into some moon light that streamed through the jungle in small pools. "What are you doing at the jungles edge, are you part of our neighbor - Kizingo`zaa?" The way she stumbled over the word told him that she wasn't local, though she likely called the shore pride her home.

"Oh dear me, no." He laughed, nearly losing to the relief at being able to deny a link to the pride. "I didn't truly think so. It's not foolish to lay here, but it's not very common either." She chuckled softly.

"So where are you from?"

"No where in particular."

His response caught the lioness off guard. Ali found himself grinning as she stumbled over the thought process surrounding his answer. "You don't have a home?" She asked him, a genuine look of sadness entered her large, pink eyes. "I don't, but I'm okay with that. Not everyone has a home." His statement only seemed to make her quite a bit more sad. "I promise, I'm happy."

Nope. Still not convinced.

"Would you consider a home?" She offered him the question in such a way that made the lion a might nervous. What was she suggesting? "I would. But not right now. I have plenty of other places to see." That seemed to settle the lioness.

"Though.. I haven't been anywhere with a comparable horizon. This is beautiful." The lioness had begun to walk away and he spoke as he followed. The pair had broken free from the jungles edge and stepped onto the sands of a beach that eventually lead towards the Bahari. "Is your home this close?" He queried.

"No, quite a bit away actually. I only came this far to find out why there was a strange lion coming and going from the jungle." When she had said it like that he realized how strange he must have looked. "Sorry." He said with a light hearted chuckle. He hadn't intended to be the cause of anyone's concern.

"Would you take me to the pride by the shore, Bahari`mtoto right?"

"I'd be happy to take you."

So the pride welcomed all. An intriguing notion, granted he was a stranger that literally had stepped out of the jungle. Not that he meant to cause them any harm, but it made him realize that perhaps the pride was well protected - inside and likely out. To be so comfortable in their own homes to welcome strangers.. though when he got to thinking about it he realized the Nchi had been the same. Warm and inviting. But the mere mention of neighboring gorillas had put him at ease, clearly they had their own unique defense.

Moyo didn't hesitate to take lead and directed herself towards the pride. Overhead the pair of lions heard a flapping of wings - a clumsy sound on it's own. "What was that?" He asked curiously.

It was Moyos turn to laugh and laugh she did. The lioness hadn't seen quite a spectacle as what was currently making that sound. The source was none other than Krisis. "Have you ever seen a fat goddess?" She asked the lion as the they walked - it seemed the longer they talked the more she opened up.

"I haven't even seen a goddess."

"Well... it's better if you see for yourself."

The lioness laughed again, fairly loudly and then stopped suddenly. The clumsy sounding flapping had ceased above them and was replaced with the sound of 'soft' landing plus a number of agitated words he couldn't quite understand.

"What.. was that?"
