Rep had snuck in for his job dressed in civilian clothing and looking normal as it got, even though he was in the back office of pale horse he still wanted to be able to comfortably use their computers and seats without wings in the way. The disguise felt uncomfortable and awkward, not natural at all, but it was at least useful.
Besides he wasn't actually all that ******** keen on being recognised by anyone.
He didn't want to admit that he knew how to code, he didn't want to admit that he knew what he was doing, so it was easier to just show up, do it and then leave without a word.
The morning was the easiest part, studying some new tech involving famine bugs and helping them move around in ways that didn't restrict them while carrying a camera or some other small fitting harness. Mostly his job was to help to sort through the various prototypes and do minor programming for the automated parts of the design. It was soothing work and he found himself zoned out as he went about it, forgetting the office around him and anything else that was going on.
Before he even knew what was happening, it was lunchtime and his task was completed. He ate, more out of a sense of obligation that eating was expected than anything else and went back to work.
The afternoon's word was being put onto another project entirely, one which involved helping to maintain a small botnet which would be used to deal with a rival company's website and disrupt the launch of a new peripheral. Most of the work was already done so it was essentially working databases of information and wasn't actually all that interesting.
Turning in his work he slunk back to War without looking at anyone at all.
