The "investigation" was somewhat lost on the Famine floor as after the Specimen Bay, Vin moved them to the offices. A complete upside down to that of the War offices, instead of being up in the trees, the offices were a set of many burrows that dotted around a lovely, green lined lake. The ground was perfect for this kind of burrowing, and even Vin found moments where he just felt like expanding just for the sake of creating another space - not that it wasn't a compulsion he had to keep in check.
Giddy, he walked out into the office area and turned around. "THIS is what we like in our offices. Nice and cozy. War has the skies, but we can make a world underground. You must wait for trees to perch but move through space. We move through any material that will allow us to go further down. No weather bothers us. Oh, how we wish things were like before. SO much space. We miss it like you say you miss so little space to spread wings in the offices. We wish we could burrow for miles, working together with all of Famine, to carve out the earth for all it's purposes. No specimen bay, but a whole expanse to make brood nests. We have so little space here and everyone must claim a spot. It is very sad, but we are at least glad for this."
And he knelt, touching the earth and letting it move through his fingers.
"We wish we could get a spot of land for us to get more earth. Someplace where the pipes and tunnels of humans don't stop us. Somewhere where the cameras and the passerbys wouldn't record and wonder what zoning permits we are not following. At night, it is sad not to hear them all moving in the earth."
"Oh, come see." He gestured for Rep to follow and walking down, stood inside a cool, dark burrow. A few mushrooms glowed faintly and he could hear the odd chittering of something muffled in the dirt. "Is this not the best?!" Beaming, he leaned against the wall and pressed his ear to it. "Such a nice way to live. It would be nice to have a whole place for War to thrive and all the Earth for Famine to burrow. Humans add too much to everything and never leave it as it should be. If we could just have a city block, how wondering that would be."
Vin sighed and felt lost in such a comforting place before pulling himself away. "Just wanted to show. Oh! We can relax in Conservatory a moment. Much like your floor but nice big lake." He waited and walked out with Rep, a bit bouncer now. "Going to floors like this, our floors, is a nice refresher of home. Makes us get energy again for things. Remind you what's important. No?"
