Aben was an orphan stone awakened at the Academy. Growing up without a family, Aben quickly learned to be independent and self reliant as much as a toddler could. The caregivers and teachers at the academy tried their best, but their attention is split between many children and it wasn't the same as a parent's singular attention, harbors a tint of jealously towards those with caring families.
Aben found hobbies through picture books and make believe that he could play by himself. He can be very studious, but only in the subjects he's passionate about. If he's not personally interested in it, it's a struggle to get him to put his all in. He loves science but hates gym class and anything that makes him move around or group activities and competition.

Independent: Aben is able to function happily on his own. While it does get lonely sometime he doesn't need anyone else to entertain himself or figure out how things work. He's very curious and will often experiment with something and figure it out on his own then ask someone else how to do it.
Perceptive: Not the most animated, Aben does a lot of observing others. He's learned to pickup on people's moods based on what he's learned from them. He's not necessarily unsocial, you just have to get him on a subject he cares about.
Self-Aware: He usually knows why he's feeling a certain way and it will help him push through the day with overcoming stressful situations.
Faults:
Self-Conscious: Aben cares too much what his peers think about him. While he tries to tell himself he does not care that much, he really does. It adds a fear that can keep him from doing things that he loves, such as trying to fly in fear of failure that others can witness.
Moody: While overall very laid back and friendly when he's not being overly self conscious, Aben can fall into horrible moods set off by random things. Normally it is something someone said he took the wrong way or that thing he shouldn't have said or done the other day.
Isolated: While Aben can enjoy the company of others, it's much easier to pass time reading or playing alone in his room where others can't witness his mistakes.
