Just what had made her think of him so suddenly? It'd been so long since Ethiriel had last heard from the Raevan who had eventually stopped answering her calls or leaving messages. For so long she had hoped that Aadhira was okay, and while he never completely left her thoughts, they slowly became less and less frequent over time.
As the Sigel held her phone delicately in her hand, she took a deep and silent breath in thought. Would he answer her this time? Was he... even alive? What had happened to him to leave without a word all this time? Ethiriel had no idea that they had a connection, now.
"Siri, call Aadhira."
"Calling Aadhira."
Waiting patiently as the phone dialed, the tea Raevan gently clutched her phone in anticipation. Would it eventually find its way to voicemail again? Would someone else pick up as if the number had been given away? Would she ever get answers or even hear from her friend again?
With a click on the other line, Ethiriel knew it had been picked up. "Greetings... is this still Aadhira's phone number...?"

Aadhira's phone was ringing. Normally, Jannisari would have let it lie, but she'd called out his name and he was going to miss the call... She answered. "Yes, this is Aadhira's phone. May I ask who is calling?" It was a soft, feminine voice and Jannisari wondered if this was someone he'd known before. Just then, Aadi emerged, toweling off his hair. He cocked his head to one side, clearly perturbed that she had answered his phone, more curious. "Who is it," he mouthed.

The unfamiliar voice temporarily left Ethiriel speechless. She wasn't exactly sure why... perhaps this voice was a bit more intimidating than the Sigel expected. Clearing her throat, she answered, "Apologies -- yes. My name is Ethiriel. I had not heard from Aadhira in a long time so I... was curious. Is he well?"

Jannisari covered the phone with one hand. "An Ethiriel." It sounded stereo-typically Elvish, which meant, more than likely, the girl on the other end was not an elf at all. Aadhira made a face and motioned for the phone. She passed it over wordlessly, wondering at their relationship. Then she decided if Aadhira wanted to tell her, he would. If not, then it really didn't matter. He took the phone, draping the damp towel around his shoulders. "Hello, princess. It's been a while, hasn't it?"

Nerves got the better of Ethiriel as she waited while Jannisari spoke with her ward -- still, the Sigel knew nothing about Aadhira's switch in guardians, so she wasn't quite sure of who she had spoken to. The woman had sounded so stern and almost disinterested... almost like Leo...
"Hello, princess."
Ethiriel's jaw nearly dropped at the sound of the Frei's voice, though her lips promptly upturned and she breathed a sigh of relief. "Aadhira..." It was clear in her voice that she had calmed, even if he hadn't heard her tone prior to his speaking. She could feel tears sting her eyes, though there was no threat of overflowing. "Aadhira... how have you been? It has been so long... I was... worried..."

"Mm," he said, thinking. "You needn't have worried about me, Ethiriel. I always manage, you know." Aadhira shifted the phone to rest between his shoulder and ear, freeing up his hands to drag a comb through his wet hair. If he left it, it would tangle into an impossible mess. It was weird to be speaking to her on the phone, to hear her voice again. She was right; it had been a while. "I've been... well. Lots of changes keeping me busy. And you, princess?"
