A message had some to him sometime after his meeting with Kara, it was from yet another confused friend. Asahi's text was even a little off which was unsettling coming from a Conquest Noble. A simple message that anyone who bothered to get to know the Death would understand was sent, it read only coming. Tucking his phone away into pocket Cain was off, heading for the water pavilion with a grimace.
The Death Guardian bristled as he entered the water pavilion area, this place was a little much but who was he to judge. Conquest were Conquest after all. Though that was what had drawn him to Asahi in the beginning, when they became friends. Koi were eyed with annoyance as black boots stomped across the bridge, making more noise than necessary, likely in attempts to get the minis to flee.
The sound of jewelry clinking made Cain's arrival known, past seeing the uncomfortable Death stallion walking across the bridge of water. At least the peaceful vibe was welcomed by stallion as he made his way towards the designated meeting place. Asahi was waiting for him inside one of the offices, Cain guessed by the smell of a certain favored tea which it was.
Entering pale gaze shifted around the room before he gave the Conquest Noble a respectful greeting. Shifting some into informality as he further greeted the other, " you call me here for tea..only?" He wasn't under the impression this was just a meeting of drinks. Cain let a friendly smirk tug at the corner of lips.

He had sent the message not long ago and wasn't surprised with the short reply back from the other Horseman. Asahi had found a free office before he sent the message and had forgotten to include which one it was when he sent the message so Cain would know where to go without having to wonder around for a bit but when he realized it he just shrugged and go the tea he knew would be familiar to Cain ready.
It wasn't hard to hear the Death Guardian coming thanks to his jewelry so Asahi had his cup of tea ready for him by the time the other man came into view. The greeting was returned with equal respect, then the Noble completely relaxed his posture where he was sitting and gave Cain a friendly smile back. "No not only, but it's hard to turn down tea don't you think?" He asked as he took a sip from his cup with a twinkle in his eyes. He then put the cup back on the table and gave his friend a once over. "I did however call you here to see how you were doing."
He didn't expect the other Horseman to remember anything about yesterday but he already had a run in with one upset Horseman and had thought to check in on his friends. Not that he had many to check up on but the ones he had he would. As he talked he got up briefly to play the good host and lead the other stallion to his seat.
Asahi didn't seem to be bad off which was good, Cain liked a calm face. After having to deal already with two frustrated Death Priestess this was honestly welcomed. A soft huff was given in thanks as the Conquest lead him to seat. Settling down a touch awkwardly Cain reached for the tea cup and took a sip. Slowly savoring the flavor chosen and letting the warm fluid calm his body.
After a few silent moments the Guardian finally spoke, "..I'm glad to see you are one of the few not in frustration friend..." It wasn't exactly an answer for his own well being but the stallion had his pride. Asahi could see he was still in tact and that was good enough as an answer to how he was doing. It would be enough for a friend that by now understood just how Cain was. Only his Priestess got real answers and even those tended to be vague when they were asked in an emotional sense of prying.
Another sip of tea came and fingers lightly played at the rim of the cup, "...you too then, you can't remember the past few days?" Of course the question had to come, and he didn't mind being the first to ask as long as Asahi answered with a yes. "This is a good flavor.." Blues flickered from the Conquest face then away, looking a little frustrated off at a wall beside the other. Trying to remain calm in the face of uncertainty was harder than it looked.

After Cain was seated, Asahi moved back to his own seat and sat down, keeping to a more relaxed posture when doing so. He watched the War clansmen take a sip, making sure it was to the other's liking, then took another sip himself. "I'm more curious then frustrated, just anything could have happened in that time frame and so far the only clue any of us have is the crystal changing colors." He said as he sat his cup back on the table. While he did notice that his friend had skipped actually telling him how he was doing, he wasn't going to push that button just yet.
His eyes studied the other stallion for a moment before he gave a hum and a shake of his head. "No, I don't remember anything in the time that everyone else is haven't problems with." He said then gave a sigh. "And you are the only one I have mentioned this too but... some of the rest of my memory is spotty as well." Nothing too noticeable really unless you went looking for it which he had seeing how that full 24 hours was missing and he had wondered if anything else was as well. Besides, the Famine Sage had said that other's were having spotty moments in their memories as well when he had asked about the memory rehabilitation process in various degrees anyway. At the mention of the tea being good he gave a nod and a small smile.
Pale blue eyes flickered back towards the Conquest Noble when Asahi went back to take a seat. They moved between the other stallion and the wall for comfort as the pair talked, from time to time making direct eye contact with the other but never lingering long. "Curious..." Cain echoed the word with a rub of hand over his stubble chin. He supposed curiosity was a way to handle this. It did beat getting frustrated and annoyed at every turn of nothing new.
Curious.
"Perhaps you have something there....it is curious." This whole event was curious, the place they woke up was curious and on top of it all...everyone being found was curious. Who sounded the alarm when they all passed out? Cain lifted a brow at his own thoughts then came back to the current conversation. Asahi spoke of something Cain hadn't heard before and the Death Guardian leaned in closer as if his friend were whispering, which he wasn't.
Asahi...
To think that more memory had left some was, well, frightening. Cain felt his mind try to scramble and recall every important event in its life. Silencing it he offered a sincere smile to his friend and sat the cup down. "I see.." Cain paused and looked into the liquid of the cup, staring for a moment. Spotty memories. "...There doesn't seem to be much we can do until something else happens I guess...so as long as we aren't missing anything important," blues flickered up to meet Asahi, was he missing something important? The stallion seemed the same as always so Cain wanted to believe he was fine, that everything that made him Asahi was still there.
But he worried for his friend, himself, Fennete.
"Then we should try to get back to normal...which means I have a Priestess to look after." He chuckled and let out a sigh, leaning back in the seat he had taken.

Asahi watched as the other stallion's eyes kept fluttering away to the wall and never keeping direct eye contact for long, raising an eye brow slightly at it. "Yes, curious." He said to both the trailed off start and the other's behavior. Oh he didn't think it was anything sinister or even anything particularly unusual. It just sparked the question of why in him. "Is there a particular reason for looking at the wall?" His lips curled into an amused smile as he asked this but he hid it behind a sip of his tea.
"It is indeed. So many questions for what happened are just left unanswered and no one seems to be in a particular hurry to get those answers and share them with the rest of us." It was almost enough to make him regret being a Conquest Noble instead of a Famine Sage, almost but not quite as he was proud of his clan.
He put his cup back down when Cain leaned in and gave a return smile. "There really doesn't seem to be huh? I don't think I'm missing anything important at least." But there was always the fact that, if you forgot it, how would you know? He shook that thought out of his head and studied Cain with a small smile. It didn't seem like there was anything particularly missing about his friend and maybe he hadn't even noticed any holes in his memories other then what everyone lost until Asahi had pointed it out. "How is she doing? I assume you saw her first?"
"I.." When the Conquest called him out on behavior Cain was alarmed to find he didn't have an answer. Didn't really know why he was behaving so nervous around someone he considered a friend. "I'm not sure...I suppose I'm not feeling well." Maybe it was just nerves, he hoped, but he was, "just restless.." Cain tried to force himself to hold still and keep his gaze.
It wasn't like Asahi was hard to look at, nearly all Conquest were easier on the eyes than some.
"They don't and that's the alarming part.." He wished someone would figure something out, even if it was just a little something. Cain sighed and rubbed a hand over the scruff on his chin. This wasn't helpful but at least he got to relax with a friend. "That's good then.." He looked to the tea cup and finished the rest off. "Mm, she's fine, I left her back at the room," He didn't say which because she was in his own and that might be looked down upon.
He did offer, "we found each other shortly after waking up and I've kept close aside from meeting with you and another priestesses. " Cain shifted and let out a huff of minor annoyance, "I should be getting back to her I suppose, she might be awake now and thinking of leaving." Cain didn't care to think of his Priestess being out alone right now. "What will you be doing, any interest in the jobs?" He had a little himself but not much.

Asahi watched the Death Guardian as he floundered trying to find an answer to his behavior and frowned slightly when the other admitted that he did not know why. The Noble leaned forward across the table to study his friend more when Cain forced himself to keep his eyes from the wall. "Are you sure? I can understand restlessness but if you think that might be it you might want to really give it some thought as to why you are feeling so." He said as he sat back after not finding anything out of the ordinary. "It could be that you are just feeling powerless over the situation over all or it could be that you subconsciously know you are missing something important."
The next words out of Cain's mouth had him nodding in agreement then let the topic of their lack of being able to do anything productive about the memory loss go. He then gave a teasing grin spread across his face as the other stallion continued his status update. "Who's room did you leave her in Cain? And why would she have been sleeping? Did you tire her out?" His voice was light but clearly heavy on the friendly teasing. If the other wanted to make a quick get away instead of answering the questions he wouldn't stop him.
He would however end up cornering him later to ask those question's again and that just might end up happening in front of said Priestess if Cain wasn't careful.
Asahi knew exactly how to press him, exactly where to make him look. This another reason Cain valued their friendship. He did feel powerless, it was a struggle. But they both knew this, so there was no use in wounding pride to admit it. Instead the Death Guardian just huffed softly.
"T-that..." Cain felt that familiar prickle of his hair raising for the questioning. OK! That was enough! He turned red under the teasing and raised from his seat grumbling about needing to get back. Clearly avoiding the topic that was now stuck in his mind. Thanks Asahi, like he didn't have enough problems!
The Death started to retreat then paused and turned to offer a slow growing smirk, "....you should know better than to ask questions that you aren't ready for the answers yet.." Hah! Let him think on that for awhile and with that Cain quickly moved away from his friend, feeling a victory.
