- - - -It had been weeks since he'd put the nezubat online, looking for adoption. With his work, clients coming and going, and his neverending search for a companion, he'd all but forgotten about the poor thing, and he kept finding it nearly starving and ill-tempered. Xiah really had no time for familiars, and part of him wondered why he even took the poor mutated thing in the first place. Maybe he wanted company in some way at the time, but now...now, he was just being neglectful. Still, he was about to give up. Everyone who called asked if the bat REALLY had four eyes. Once confirmed, he never heard from them again. He supposed that his ads were reaching the wrong crowd, and slowly, he was losing hope. It almost seemed like he was going to have to simply release it into the wild, but he was unsure of how well it would do on it's own. He at least wanted to give it a home. Today seemed promising. He'd gotten a call and the interesting party was going to visit that day. As such, he was dressed in his finest, and had even cleaned his manor over twice. The nezubat in question was currently crawling around in a large aquarium sealed by a large plank of wood with holes drilled into it.

- - - -It had taken a while to find a suitable nezubat, but Sprite thought she had finally found one. For some reason, people just weren't breeding and selling them right now, and Sprite had turned to adopting one. There were a few, but only one caught her eye. Apparently it had been born during the Haunted Hallows. It had 4 eyes, a long, spaded tail, and, according to the current owner, seemed to want to be affectionate, but he didn't have the time to care for it. That's what sealed the deal for Sprite. Standing in front of where the address that was where she was supposed to be, they stared. The place was absolutely massive! Several hundred Nezubats could could probably live there! The guy had the room, so why... No, there was a reason, and rather than let the poor creature be neglected, the guy was good enough to let it go. Taking a breath, Sprite slowly walked up to the door, knocked, and yelped as it opened seemingly of it's own accord. "H-hello...?" she ventured, hands in hoodie pockets.

- - - -"You have no need to be so hesitant." Xiah's voice rang clear from atop the staircase. Affirming that the nightmare entering was, indeed, who he had contacted, he descended. The aquarium containing the little bat floated along next to him, the creature inside curled up and still. Possibly from fright. "Sprite, is it not?" Xiah questioned, unsure if that was this being's real name. Not one to judge, he smiled nonetheless. "A fitting name, i suppose." As flirtatious as ever, he reached the bottom of the stairs to give a bow. "It's a pleasure to be hosting you, if even for a while."

- - - -Whoa.Just short of starstruck, Sprite took a few moment to just. Stare at the majestic Kumiho as he descended the stairway. Sprite almost felt...Well, she didn't know? Her heartbeat started going faster and faster, and a flush rose to her cheeks. Damn, this guy was amazing and nice on the eyes. But not what she was there for. "Er! Yes. I'm Sprite." she nodded, "I...I'm honored to be here, sir!" She had straightened up considerably along with a flushed face. Goodness, this guy was flustering her by just talking. She couldn't be around long...besides, it was almost dinnertime and Sprite had a roommate to go bug for food.

- - - -A chuckle escaped him as he approached, the aquarium following somewhat far behind, carefully going down the stairs as it levitated on it's way. "Xiah. Being called 'sir' makes me feel..." Well, he was almost a century old, 'old' would be taking it lightly. "...Odd." Another hearty chuckle and he was standing in front of the...diminutive hybrid. Goodness, they were so small, he could hardly believe it if they said they weren't part cherub. "If you'd like, I would be...open to discussing the terms of adoption over dinner? My housekeep made an amazing spread and I cannot hope to eat it all by myself."

- - - -Dinner?! This guy was asking her to have dinner!? Well, granted, it was nothing like being asked out to dinner, but was still something that had literally never happened to her. She wasn't dressed to dine, and she hadn't planned on staying that long. Sprite was just about to protest when she was completely and utterly betrayed. A long, loud growl from her tummy answered for her, and she hung her head in defeat. "I guess that couldn't hurt. It'll be better than instant noodles?" At least, that's all she had planned that night if her roomie didn't want to go out and get something or let Sprite use the stove.

- - - -"Infinitely better, I assure you Sprite. I would even suggest that I get leftovers set up for you, once we're finished." Already he was heading through a set of doors that would inevitably lead to the dining room. As per his tastes, it was spacious. The dining table, topped with frosted glass, was long enough to allow at least ten people per side to sit with plenty of elbow room, and the ends wide enough to allow two to sit as well. the dining chairs were polished mahogany, the seat cushions encased in velvet covers a royal purple shade. Upon the table itself, at the end, lay what was truly a feast meant for at least five. cups of Angel's Breath on one platter was a hint to who else was in the house. Taking a seat on one of the chairs at the end of the table, he sat the aquarium containing the now-sleeping bat down on the one beside him, then gestured to one of the seats on the side. "Kiyoko will be bringing our drinks momentarily. Soda will do for you, yes?"
