The members of the Conquest clan were said to be elegant and respectful, both on and off the battlefield. They were the ones that other clans would look up to (or so it was taught). They were the clan that ruled above all clans (nevermind that the Death clan controlled the floors above them and that a Famine clan member raised concerns about the water pavilion springing a leak not too long ago).

It was then with great disappointment that Merope was currently using the book he was supposed to be studying on human modernization as a pillow. The conquest imperial soldier was fast asleep and snoring pretty loudly. Off to one side his notes on the human art of graffiti were decorated with distracted doodles and stick figures doing questionable things, quite possibly picked up from another book that Merope shouldn't have been pretending to read at some point.

"Bring me... the tie-dyed harmonica..." Merope murmured in his sleep, the tip of one of his horns coming dangerously close to spilling a cup of cold tea all over the tabletop.

"Nnuuuugh the frilly nougats aren't ready yet," Merope complained sleepily, pulling a magazine on interpretive dance up and over his head. "Call the walrus... he took my... rollerskates..." The snoring intensified.

As he was shaken, Merope attempted to retreat further under the magazine covers. When the shaking wouldn't stop, Merope lifted his head and yawned. "Ahh, what is it? Can't you se-"

He froze. Merope quickly wiped the drool from his face and bolted from the chair, kneeling before BingHua. "Sorry! I'm so sorry Heir! I didn't reali- er, I didn't mean any disrespe... wait. Song? Cover?"

The imperial soldier took a moment to look over her outfit. "Ohhh hell nah," he held his hands up in surrender. "I'm still wrapping my head around hick hop and that one bouncy song."

Merope stared at the shirt in awe. "$120 actual dollars?" He whispered. He so badly wanted to touch it, and even had his hand held out to do so before he realized exactly who it was that was wearing the shirt. He snatched his hand out of the air with his other hand before a scholar from the other room could fine him for lewdness should his hand have made contact with that particular area of BingHua's torso.

In all honesty it was the first time Merope saw something worth that many human dollars. The most he'd ever seen of human dollars was tree fiddy.

"There's a sparkling teletubby? Are teletubbies like that sparkling 7th Element? Or that one human that can split into four copies of himself?" He asked eagerly. "I'm not far enough my studies to get to where you are but -- yeah! I've been trying to catch up but I keep getting side-tracked." Merope admitted, returning to the table and flipping through magazines.

"Here! Look at these!" Eagerly he shoved some skater magazines towards her. "Check these out! Instead of walking these humans get around on these little boards with wheels, and check out these things behind them! They call it giraffitti even though there's rarely any giraffes in it and spray it on the walls with paint. I think they use it to mark their territory, kinda like the motion that stick figure is doing. Apparently repetitively thrusting your hips forward and back is a move humans do to get attention."
