-Welcome and Salutations to home of the Gaian Naval Command-

Just west of the Port de Gambino jutting out from the southern shore of the Gambino Strait on a man made peninsula sits the home of the Gaian Navy. The Gaian Naval Command has only one entrance, the gargantuan South Gate where the peninsula attaches to the mainland by a short reinforced wide lane service bridge a large metallic gate resides on both sides of the bridge with a deep water canal running underneath it. With the possible exception of an emergency the gates are operated as such that as long as the outer gate is open the inner gate is securely locked tight, and will not open till the outer gate has been locked down. Sitting on both sides of each of the clamshell gates are two small observation towers that overlook the bridge each one has a M66* remote weapons platform attached to the top with a full slew/traverse range of motion armed for the effective defense of the bridge.

Sitting along both sides of the main access road beyond the massive south gate are two parking lots for the various personnel and their vehicles, this area is still quite a distance from the main buildings and docks so as to give an adequate stand off buffer against things like truck bombs and other concealed Improvised Explosive Devices. Just North of the primary parking lots a second wide canal seems to cut the peninsula in half, again a single small span across the waterway only to stop abruptly at a third clamshell gate and a 5 meter reinforced Ferrocrete wall surrounding the southern half of the facility. Remote weapon platforms and multi-optic cameras spaced evenly across its length. Next to the gate is a smaller metal door for personnel with a seemingly traditional metal handle. The door way is just large enough for a normal human to pass through next to it is a metal plate with the words Proxy Key Required printed in bold letters on the scratched solid state ARFID scanner. In the mere swipe of a card the machine downloads the reference information stored within the card and uses it to confirm or deny your identity. Carried in the Proxy key, is a complete biometric map of the left, and right hands. Along with an overlaid sub-epidermic capillary pressure map for each. This system means no matter how you grip the door handle a part of the persons hand is on file for comparison. This information (the hand on the door) is compared with the information on the card. The power of the system means that regardless of whether they are wearing light gloves (as in medical latex) or their hands are dirty (liquid or dry crud) the system can achieve a positive ID. Should the Signature not match an AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System) search will be begun and the result will be recorded, and security notified.

Once through the door you are left staring straight into the barrels of two M66 stations and a forward reinforced security post run by SPs to the left of the door (and across the main service road) lies the Primary Officers Dormitory, just north of that sits the Primary Administration buildings the true heart of the Gaian Naval Command. To the Right lies the Marine Engineering, and Advanced Concepts building the center of R&D tech-heads with a bit too much time on their hands and far too much access to caffeine. North of the MEAC sits large factory like building nestled between two large hanger like buildings each about the length of a football field is the primary Fabrication, and Assembly Building. The two large hanger like building are reinforced dry docks for the construction of experimental, and fleet vessels.

Beyond this is the LRSC or Long Range Survey Center which is the collection point for dozens of Green Pine Early Warning and Fire Control RADAR arrays an electronically scanned, solid state, phased array radar operating at L-band in the range 500MHz to 1,000MHz. The radar operates in search, detection, tracking and missile guidance modes simultaneously. The arrays can together detect targets at ranges up to about 2000km and is able to track targets up to speeds over 5,000m/s with a cross section as small as the 5 and half inches in diameter. The combined power of the arrays create an extremely powerful long range sensor system for all Nape of the Earth, Endo-Atmospheric, and midlevel support. This system is directly connected to Ten VLS Arrow 3 ATBM systems***. Which is tasked not only with ABM missions, but also Aerospace/anti-shipping missile defense at extreme ranges.

Though large the LRSC is merely a dot compared to the massive dockyards that cover the remaining room at the tip of the peninsula each dock, with mechanized cason is large enough to comfortably hold two Primogen Class Dreadnoughts, or four Icelia or Carson Class Frigates. Though each one can be separated and the water level individually lowered or raised with the casons in place they rarely require such methods and with the exception of a lockdown are open to the ocean in case of rapid deployment. A futher 8 docks up to 500m long lie four to each side of the drydocks for the berthign and resupply of naval vessels.

In between the docks lie three smaller buildings, the largest of the three is the Armory an almost monolithic cube sitting in the center of the dock area with two large service ramps for transportation of armaments and such. Massive dual section armored doors secure both ramps down into the facility where issued weapons, and security equipment can be picked up or dropped off for matienence. Sitting just next to the Armory is a Small PX for naval personnel to purchase novelty items or any other required bits they should need while on base.

North of the Armory sits a U shaped white building adorned with a red cross, this is the Naval College Surgical Hospital which is capable of treating even the most severe wounds either conventionally or using new and sometimes experimental procedures. It is fully equipped and self sufficient and is a free healthcare provider for naval personnel and their families.

THE NINE VALUES of the Gaian Naval Command:
User Image

Responsibility - The serviceman or woman of the GN will see themselves as active participants in the defense of the state, its citizens and residents. They will carry out their duties at all times with initiative, involvement and diligence with common sense and within the framework of their authority, while prepared to bear responsibility for their conduct.

Credibility - The servicemen and women of the GN shall present things objectively, completely and precisely, in planning, performing and reporting. They will act in such a manner that their peers and commanders can rely upon them in performing their tasks.

Personal Example - The servicemen and women of the GN will comport themselves as required of them, and will demand of themselves as they demand of others, out of recognition of their ability and responsibility within the military and without to serve as a deserving role model.

Life - The servicemen and women of the GN will act in a judicious and safe manner in all they do, out of recognition of the supreme value of human life. During combat they will endanger themselves and their comrades only to the extent required to carry out their mission.

Purity of Arms - The servicemen and women of the GN will use their weapons and force only for the purpose of their mission, only to the necessary extent and will maintain their humanity even during combat. The GN will not use their weapons or force to harm human beings who are not combatants or prisoners of war, and will do all in their power to avoid causing harm to their lives, bodies, dignity and property.

Professionalism - The servicemen and women of the GN will acquire the professional knowledge and skills required to perform their tasks, and will implement them while striving continuously to perfect their personal and collective achievements.

Discipline - The servicemen and women of the GN will strive to the best of their ability to fully and successfully complete all that is required of them according to orders and their spirit. The GN will be meticulous in giving only lawful orders, and shall refrain from obeying blatantly illegal orders.

Comradeship - The servicemen and women of the GN will act out of fraternity and devotion to their comrades, and will always go to their assistance when they need their help or depend on them, despite any danger or difficulty, even to the point of risking their lives.

Sense of Mission - The servicemen and women of the GN should view their service in the GN as a mission; They will be ready to give their all in order to defend the state, its citizens and residents. This is due to the fact that they are representatives of the GN who act on the basis and in the framework of the authority given to them in accordance with GN orders.

What is the GN-
The GN stands for Gaian Navy which is obviously a naval force connected with the Gaian Government. Our job is the protection of Gaias Ports, Inland Waterways, and Territorial Waters. We are also one of the primary logistical, support, and transportation methods should conflict break out in a foreign land in connection with the Joint Gaian Military Command.

New Members-
All new members to the guild will for the time being start out as Ensigns. This was decided on the fact that for a single vessel to operate efficiently it has anywhere from 5-30 officers, and anywhere from 5 to 10 times the number of other personnel for a single vessel to run efficiently. Perhaps later when the vessels are better complimented with officer will I start having recruits start at lower ranks to fill the crew positions. Till then the majority of crew positions will be filled by NPCs

Ranks-
Ai Leen
Ranks
aka: Where do I start on the ladder?

All newcomers to the Gaian National Guard, with exceptions as deemed appropriate, will start at the rank of Private. Even if your character was a Colonel in his previous military, this is the Gaian National Guard, and here, you start from the Bottom.

GNG Ranks are designed with RP in mind. Unlike US military ranks, the same rank is the same name regardless of what branch you are in. Also unlike the US military, the GNG promotes people from the "enlisted" ranks upwards and into the "officer" ranks. The ranks structure is also less complex with less ranks than real world military ranking...really, you should not even bother comparing this rank structure to real world ranks. The GNG Rank system is entirely different. Here are the ranks:

Ai Leen
-Officer-

General
Major
Captain
Lieutenant

-Non-Officer-

Master Sergeant
Sergeant
Corporal
Private

The General is in command of the entire GNG. This person directs the overall operation of the three forces and has the final word in all negotiations should they wish it.

There are 3 Majors, and they lead the three branches of the GNG. The Major of the ASDF is Tanasha, for example. The Major directs the overall operation of the branch they lead, and unless the General commands otherwise has free reign over their branch.

Captains are the department heads for each branch. There are Captains for each department within the branch, some examples of which might include Logistics, Security, and Medical. Gaian Navy Captains also hold this rank, as do some Squadron Leaders and Unit Commanders.

Lieutenants are the 2nds in Command, serving directly under the Captains. They make certain that the Captain's orders are carried out, as well as lead more localized groups within their department.

All the above ranks are addressed either by their full rank, or sir.

Master Sergeants are the highest ranking non-officer rank. They are usually assigned important duties, such as Quartermaster in the Logistics department. In large military formations, Master Sergeants can operate as group leaders if there are no Lieutenants to fill the role.

Sergeants are respected non-officer ranked soldiers that are most often known for being in charge of training new recruits, but they can hold many of the roles that Master Sergeants can.

Corporals are 'graduated' from the basic rank. This is one of the two 'backbone' ranks, and this one holds authority over the other.

Privates are the true backbone of the military. These are the recently graduated from military academy. Everyone has to start somewhere, and if you're in the military, this is that somewhere.

Gaining Rank-
Twice a month (every two weeks) an officer may apply for advancement by taking the designated advancement test, and appearing before a tribunal of their superior officers. If they are rejected they will not loose their current rank, they simply will not advance and will have to try again next time.

The GN Rapier-
User Image

Produced as a symbol of an officer, the sword of the Gaian Navy Proper is a Rapier of traditional design with a leather scabbard with silver embellishments, and a red silk rope is used to secure the weapon to an officers dress uniform but is stored wrapped around the mid section of the scabbard when in storage. The sword itself is a piercing weapon and retains a fine edge done both sides to ease penetrating flesh, however it is not a cutting weapon and was not designed with combat in mind. The blade is highly polished but the hilt is of cast iron rod bent into a hand guard, the grip is of fine quality but unembellished oak, with more cast iron fire shrunk onto the handle to provide grip. It is an excellently balanced but very modest weapon the symbolism in its construction echoing the navies motto of Esse Quam Videri or to be rather than to seem

Advancement Tests-
ADTs are short, and simple but not necessarily easy. They consist of five multiple choice questions on topics such as command chain, technology, SOPs and such, as well as two short free reply questions. The two free reply questions make up 50% of the tests score so aceing one part or the other will not guarantee a success. However it is up to the tribunal as to whether or not ignore the test results in favor of excellent performance reviews.

Specialist Qualification Tests-
SQTs are similar in concept ADTs except specifically for gaining specialist status within the GN. There are no rank requirements to obtain specialist status but the test must be re-taken periodically to retain that status. A member can gain specialist certification on anything from Amphibious Assaults, Emergency Medicine, to Tactical Maneuvers. Test structure varies according to the subject matter and can be either written, physical, or a mix of both. Should a

Personal Items-
All the items required for a member to do his job will be issued to them. This includes, a uniform, a sidearm, and any other specialized equipment as may be required. Only senior officers my carry a personal sidearm, all others are expected to carry, and be familiar with their issued weapon. Personal weapons/clothes may be stored in their private footlocker/closet and may be worn off base only while not representing the GN. Personal vehicles (excluding mecha) will be stored for you on our private parking lot, or long term storage center depending on the owners request. Mecha will not be stored on base but the owner will be reimbursed for the cost of storage in a separate facility.

Leave-
At any point you can request Shore Leave for either IC or OOC purpose (like an extended absence during finals week) during this time your current rank will be retained for up to 3 months with no penalty. Obviously you will not be held to the minimum post requirements. After the three months are up you should let us know what is going on and whether or not you will be able to return. Failure to check in after three months means dismissal from the Navy.

Official Position on Mecha-
Though the effectiveness of todays bipedal weapon systems is hard to ignore we do not feel that such a weapon is as effective or efficient means of amphibious assault compared to other existing weapon systems with a few exceptions. At this time we are not seeking Mecha, Mobile Suit, or Tactical Armor Pilots, though this position may change over time.

Special Forces-
Officially the Gaian Naval Command does not field a Special Forces Group. We have never fielded such a group and have no intentions to begin now.

RP Guidelines-
* AMP (the Anti-Munch Project) Standards are in effect, ignorance of this is not a valid defense.
* Proper English will be spoken here this is not to say I am a stickler for perfect grammar or perfect spelling, I am not, nor am I discriminating against those who speak other languages. However as one of the primary concerns of RP is the telling of a story it requires that the story be understandable. 1337 5|>34|< and IM spelling will NOT be tolerated (you only equals u when the value of u is 0)
* The only flame allowed in this thread are those generated by a Zippo
* SPAM shall only be found in this thread in the form of K rations
* Capitalization is your friend, its makes the difference between I helped my uncle Jack off a horse. And; I helped my uncle jack off a horse.
* Be Aware: Ignoring the listed defenses, is grounds for us ignoring you.
* Observe, Think , THEN Post.
* Post form: Third person, Past tense (Jack moved silently down the hallway.)
* One line responses are generally frowned upon. Whereas I will not regulate a post length requirement, a paragraph or so is a good general length for most posts.
*ALWAYS SEPARATE ACTIONS FROM SPEECH.
* Paradigm control lies in my hands, and those I designate. Though prayerfully there will never be a time when an attack must be ignored, experience has shown that it will happen eventually. For such a case; as the creator of the controlling thread I retain the right to Ignore, Report, or ask for revision of any post made in any thread in this guild.
* If you can read this you dont need glasses

Personal Issue-

-Mark 7 GPAR-
User Image
The M7 is a 7mm general-purpose bullpup over/under select-fire Assault Rifle/auto-loading grenade launcher, The Operation employs a self cocking double action Gas Delayed Locked Blowback mechanism chambered for the SS230 series 7x50mm High Velocity Impact-primed Caseless round. Cyclic rate is around 1000 rounds per minute though it is recommended that only short controlled bursts be used to conserve ammunition and increase accuracy. The gun is constructed largely from light alloy stampings, and High Impact Tempralite polymer to conserve weight but not sacrifice durability. The assault rifle is fed from a 50 round disposable polymer magazine that is loaded into the primary stock of the weapon in a manner similar to the FN P90 PDW, but unique in that as a new magazine is loaded the expended magazine is ejected down through the hollow stock area as the armature clip secures the new magazine into the feed area and cycles the bolt loading the first round from the fresh round into the chamber, allowing for blazing fast reloads and ammo switches. A back up ambidextrous cocking handle/forward assist is standard though rarely necessary.

The Weapon is equipped with a three position adjustable stock, and an Integrated Combat Optic (ICO) equipped with a carrying handle and a supplemental passive magnetic induction power supply in addition to a conventional alkaline battery allowing for up to 500+ hours of active run time before the need to replace the battery. The 1-3x variable magnification ICO conveniently displays a holographic red dot (corrected for elevation) reticule (with four reticule choices to choose from), range to target, loaded chamber indicators, and rounds left unfired when the under slung grenade mode is selected the special LV direct/indirect reticule is displayed and the weapon is ready to go. Changing it back to rifle mode reverts to the users preferences. When set on safe only the reticule itself is visible and is slightly dimmed to conserve battery power.

The under slung double action semi-automatic 30mm grenade launcher is loaded by a 4 round removable magazine. All that is required to operated the weapon is to set the selector on Grenade and pull the trigger. The double action mechanism cocks the firing mechanism only when the trigger is pulled preventing an accidental discharge during an accidental drop or combat shock. Once loaded, the launcher is primed to fire as the action of reloading is very similar to the primary loading except that a conventional release/magazine is installed

The most commonly used round in the grenade launcher is the M40 High Explosive Fragmentation round which is marked with a red plastic cap. It has a muzzle velocity of 78 m/s, an effective range of 400m with an accurate range of around 180m. The cartridge has a rimmed, separating base, and launches a projectile with an explosive element comprised of a notched tungsten wire wrapped around an explosive filler. When the round explodes, it spreads more than 300 fragments over a casualty radius of five meters fused either on impact or Rifleman designated airburst. A distance add/remove toggle switch preset to one meter increments is built into the front foregrip along with the designated ranging IR laser. The data that will be supplied to the round is displayed in the Integrated Combat Optic.

-Other 30x90mm LV Projectiles-

-M38 Advanced Light Armor Piercing (ALAP) round- Capable of penetrating up to 10 cm of homogeneous Rolled steel, the round detonates using a small IR pulse proximity fuse firing its Advanced Coaxial Explosively Formed Penetrator at optimum distance for the most effect against the target. This round is marked with a Green cap.
-M60 White Phosphorous Incendiary round.- This white-capped round contains a filler of white phosphorous which spreads up to 15 meters after impact, creating an instant rising white smoke cloud and flame with a secondary incendiary effect against vegetation, personnel, and material.
-M80 Thermobaric Anti-Personnel (TAP) round- Though purely coincidental in name the M80 is a highly effective fine grain powder based Thermobaric High Explosive weapon using a detonation method and turbulent jet dispersion method creating five times the over-pressure and peak impulse per pound of TNT. This means that 30mm grenade is capable of generating five times the equivalent shockwave for its size. Though this is impressive its lethal radius is limited to 3 meters and is mostly useful as a shock weapon for clearing rooms and if set to airburst opening up locked or reinforced doors from a distance. This round is marked by a Yellow cap
-M108 Canister (Buckshot) round.- Essentially a large shotgun round with a range of 30 meters, this small cartridge with a flat, black nose, gives the rifleman effective firepower for close-in combat, and ship-to-ship boarding engagements.
-M-109 Fletchette round- Similar in appearance to the M108 round but with 4 thin red lines on the caps front cover. Containing four 7mm hardened tungsten darts the M109 round has almost twice the effective range of the M-108 and is not as easily stopped by makeshift barricades or personal armor. This is considered one of the best choices for general use other than the M40 Fragmentary round.
-M250 Baton round.- This round fires a less-than-lethal polymer projectile capable of incapacitating or even disabling a lightly armored human, or most demi-humans. Primarily used during civil disturbances, A shot to the head or chest my incur a lethal effect depending on shot placement though the most common reports are that of broken bones, shock, concussion, Interruption of consciousness, loss of breath and the occasional burst appendix. This round is marked with a Purple cap
-M260 Advanced Aqueous Containment Foam round- Though generally frowned upon as a less-than-lethal weapon; Quick Setting Stabilized Aqueous Foam (aka 'sticky foam')is useful for a lot more than just gluing a rioter to a tree. An example being that adding 8% by volume of aqueous ammonia to the conventional mix gives the resulting hybrid a effective anti-bacterial, and anti-nerve agent effect by neutralizing the transferring agent. Aqueous foam is also long known for its ability to direct, and suppress explosions by at least a small percentage. This hybrid aqueous foam is highly useful for security personnel as it still allows for the conventional use of sticky foam as a non-lethal incapacitating agent of personnel and machines, but it also allows for the containment, and suppression of suspicious packages as well as being able to safely (read; from a distance) seal a chemical agent leak from a container. The M260 AACF round contains enough foaming agent to cover 3 square feet up to ranges of 15m accurately, and is marked by a clear cap filled with a blue liquid.
-M270 Breaching Round- Composed of compressed powdered steel the M270 round is non-offensive round for use in entry situation. The dense compressed metallic medium is highly effective against door locks, door hinges, padlocks, chains, handcuffs, or any other retaining devices or barricades encountered in everyday use. The round is also notably effective against intoxicated or armored personnel as a less-lethal option against extreme threats; this is not recommended by the manufacturer however.
-M330 SPS (Special Purpose, Silenced)- Designed for clandestine operations and ambushes the M330 projectile is a 30x90mm High Explosive Fragmentation Grenade utilizing 500 preformed fragments of TC3 alloy (as used in the M45 Dual-Purpose Grenade) creating a lethal radius of 10m and providing limited anti-vehicle capability along with its normal anti-personal capability. The case of the M330 is based off the russian SP-4 'silent' ammuntion which uses a reduced propelling charge and an enclosed piston inside the case to propel the round thereby containing both the muzzle flash and the majority of sound within the case. This gives an operative ample protection against discovery or counter-fire while providing a highly effective offensive capability.
-M265 Advanced Non-Lethal Alternative Round- Designed for situations where a normal baton round is neither all that effective or groups off combatants make subduing them difficult. Constructed of a hard rubbery polymer designed to be operate like a normal baton round with a few exceptions. the center of the polymer baton is hollow and contains 130 grains of a Chemical cocktail of OC/CS powder: this powder is not only persistent (sticking to the attacker(s)) but high irritating to Eyes, lungs, mouth, and skin and capable of staying on a subject for several hours until washed off with a dilute of alcohol. The powder is a bright day-glow green and can be used to help mark suspects for questioning or arrest. The baton round contains six cuts in the sides of the baton through which on impact the powder burst forth. At the rear of the baton is a small velocity/rotation counter that acts as a timing device as well as small low explosive primer that allows for the rounds use as an air-bursting device much like the M40 High explosive round. That allows for a single soldier to subdue a large number of hostile combatants or to quickly take down a particularity uncooperative individual.

-Pistol, Model 30 Caliber .40-
User Image
Type: CDA, Delayed Blowback
Chamber: 10x30mm
Weight: 845g empty; 1131g (13 rounds)/1285g (20 rounds) loaded
Length: 240 mm
Barrel length: 150 mm
Capacity: 13 or 20 rounds
Price: 850.00g

Overview-
The Pistol, Model 30 Caliber .40 or ALPHAtech P30 is a delayed blowback operated, semi-automatic pistol. Featuring a rotating, but not reciprocating, barrel, which has two large lugs machined into the barrel: one under the chamber is engaged into the frame and allows to the barrel to rotate but not to move back or forward. The other lug, on the upper surface of the barrel, is engaged in a curved notch inside the slide. When pistol is fired, the barrel inertia and the bullet torque act against the blowback force of the slide via a sloped notch. When bullet leaves the barrel, the slide rotates the barrel and retracts to cycle the action. By channeling part of the recoil energy into barrel rotation, and by partially absorbing the barrel and slide recoil shock through the central block before it is transferred to the frame, the P30 achieves unusually low felt recoil. When the slide is in battery, the positive lock-up of barrel to slide assures perfect alignment of barrel and sights. Upon firing, the barrel travels and rotates with little to no lateral movement off center. The result is superior accuracy and quicker recovery for a follow-up shot. The P30 is equipped with probably one of the most ergonomic grips since the Luger pistol. The ideal grip angle, combined with low barrel axis, result in minimum muzzle jump and additionally lowered felt recoil, as well as excellent "pointability" with a flared magazine well as standard the combined features make for one of the most controllable, reliable, and comfortable service pistols available for military service today.

Ammunition-
The P30 pistol fires a potent 10x25mm round which propels a 200 grain .40 caliber projectile at 1500 fps generating 999 ft-lbs of KE or a TRSP of 17. Muzzle flash, though more substantial than a .45 ACP round is limited and noticeably less than a traditional 10mm or .357 round. The standard duty round is a GSJHP or Glaser Special Jacketed Hollow Point round which is a unique JHP round with a large tear drop shaped cavity with a small opening at the tip that gradually widens as the cavity descends. This cavity has been filled with 30-40 small tungsten spheres (#4 shot) which due to the shape of the cavity and the small initial opening, upon impact with a hard target the tip deforms pinching the opening closed and allows it to punch through the target much like a traditional FMJ round, but against soft targets the round 'blooms' and fragments rapidly after penetration generating grievous incapacitating wounds against soft tissue, making it highly effective in a self defense role. Due to its high velocity, and bullet design this round will defeat NATO CRISAT armor up to 50m and will crack & defeat ceramic level III rated plates at 15m. Overall the round is noted for; controlled expansion, penetration, and proven lethality against multiple threats types.

Construction-
The slide is constructed entirely of bead blasted blued Molybnium-coated alloy steel that although is heavier than a comparable sormed steel pistols and is much more durable, and abuse-resistant. The slide rides on four hardened internal rails, machined on the inside of the frame instead of on the slide itself. This system, originally on the Swiss SIG P210 pistol, provides a smoother cycle action and better tolerances, resulting in greater accuracy. The system is amazingly easy to fieldstrip comprising of only 5 major modular parts: The Slide (and firing pin), the modular trigger group (& Hammer system), the barrel (with captive recoil spring), frame, and the magazine. The Trigger group is easily replaceable as it is one solid modular unit, and can be swapped out for a traditional SA or DA/DAO action if preferred. Part of the modular trigger system are two reinforced steel feed rails which help increase the reliability of the weapon as it adds lateral support to the rounds as they are loaded into the chamber from the magazine(ala Tokarev.) Along the bottom of the lower frame is a M1913 regulation accessory rail to increase the flexibility of the system. Upon delivery the pistol comes with two 13 round staggered column magazines standard, with the option of upgrading to a 20 round double column magazine at the customers request.

Operation-
The P30 uses a unique CDA (Combat Defense action) trigger group which features a hammer fired system with a two piece hammer. Along both sides of the conventional DAO hammer there is a cocking piece which acts (and is essentially) like an SA concealed internal hammer, and can be cocked via the retraction of the slide. When the slide goes back into the closed position, the external hammer returns to battery like any other DAO hammer under the its own hammer spring, but the cocking piece remains in the cocked position inside the slide, with main spring loaded. When operator squeezes the trigger, the external hammer is retracted all the way back, but due to the low power of the hammer spring, the trigger weight is much lower than in conventional DAO pistols (about 2-3.3 kg compared to 5-8 kg.) When the hammer goes back all the way, the trigger mechanism releases the cocking piece, which acts on the hammer and forces it onto the firing pin with the power of the main spring and the hammer spring, to fire the cartridge. This unusual action allows for the ease, and speed of carrying a cocked and locked SA pistol, but the safety and security of a modern DAO pistol. The weapon contains no external safeties for ease of use, but is equipped with an internal automatic safety slaved to the trigger mechanism that prevents the internal hammer from releasing prematurely. A simple ambidextrous decocking button is located just behind the slide release lever for the safe release of the internal hammer to prevent long term wear on the main hammer spring.

Sights-
Sights are of fixed front with adjustable rear layout with the fixed front sight blade partially concealed within a longitudinal groove on the top of the slide so as to smooth out its profile, and increase the speed at which it can be withdrawn from its holster. An interesting feature is the shooter information window. This indicator is made in the form of a small square window at the lower center line of the rear sight which is usually black when unloaded, but when the gun is cocked and loaded a red square slides into view allowing for instant referral as to the state of the weapon. Likewise when only three or less rounds are left in the magazine or should their be a malfunction (such as a type one or type two malfunction which would prevent the pistol from returning to battery) a bright red X on a black background slides into the window alerting the shooter to the weapons status.

-Next Generation Light Weight Revolver (NGLWR)-
User Image
Type: Double Action
Chamber: 10x30mm GSJHP
Weight: 912g empty; 1088g loaded
Length: 232mm (4" barrel)
Barrel length: 102mm (4"), also available 152mm BBL (6")
Capacity: 6 rounds

Though heavier than the P13 the NGLWR is supriseingly popular with those who choose it over the P13 due to its compact size and diehard reliability. Safety is ambiadextrous and is quickly engaged or disengaged even under stress. Sights contain Tritium inserts and the under barrel rail can accept a wide variety of accessories. The Picatinny style heat rib above the barrel will also acept many different aftermarket optical scopes and with both rails conatinaing an accessory barrel climb is nearly nonexistant.

-The M45 Dual Purpose Grenade-
Considered perhaps one of the most useful battle field devices currently available. Comprising of a low profile plunger type fuse secured with an oblong safety ring/pin, the M45 looks not that different from a standard fragmentation grenade. Its only slightly larger than the US standard M67 grenade but its a 3 inch long cylinder instead of a sphere. The outer casing of the grenade is a composite Thermoplastic resin with three raised oval rings around its surface to facilitate a better grip in a wet or muddy environment and allow the cylindrical grenade to fit well in the hand. At the bottom of the cylinder lies a separate metallic ring that makes up the base of the grenade, it has an engraved notch on the ring and the notch is usually pained white for increased visibility. When rotated 10 degrees (it takes a bit of force to do, but not more than opening a soda bottle.) it converts the Standard Offensive grenade to a Fragmentary one allowing for multiple uses with the same stock of grenades and increased lethality per operative.

The Fuse of the M45 is an unusual one in the world of Grenades, comprising of small plunger button on the top of the grenade through which the safety pin is inserted as two opening are aligned. Upon preparation to throw the Operator depresses the button on the top of the grenade, reliving pressure on the Safety pin, which can then be removed with some ease. The safety pin is made of plastic and does not exit the other side of the plunger housing, instead it rests between the primer and the striker to prevent even accidental ignition of the grenades timer. As long as the plunger remains depressed the grenade is safe and will not initiate its timing fuse until released, much like the traditional spoon type. Upon release of the plunger either on the throw or before to provide an airburst effect the grenades releases a striking pin which initiates the time fuse. After a delay of three to five seconds the grenades detonates. An Impact, Extended Timer, and Instant (sabotage) Fuses are available and can be exchanged easily in the field by depressing the plunger (with safety pin in place), unscrewing the fuse counter clockwise, and pulling upwards. The Fuse itself however is designed to prevent its removal and subsequent neutralization by an enemy combatant, by facilitating a two part fuse, the time train needing to be removed separately from the grenade body to prevent function.

The heart of the M45 is its charge of course, comprising of a steel cylinder with thirteen grooves gouged into the composite cone underneath the composite cover. Normally a cage of thirteen metal wires sit in these grooves making a solid smooth cylinder which on detonation simply is forged together to form a solid casing. When in this mode it acts as an offensive hand grenade, commonly referred to as a concussion grenade, and is designed to produce casualties during close combat while minimizing danger to friendly personnel. The grenade is also used for concussion effects in enclosed areas, for blasting, or for demolition tasks. The shock waves (overpressure) produced by this grenade when used in enclosed areas are greater than those produced by the fragmentation grenade. It is, therefore, very effective against enemy soldiers located in bunkers, buildings, and fortified areas. It can also be used for light blasting and demolitions, and for creating breach holes in interior walls in a MOUT environment (an adhesive or magnetic strip is available as an accessory). Though some Fragmentation is generated it is considered minor compared to overpressure effect.

The splitter cage is not fixed to the shaped body of the grenade, and when rotated 10 degrees which puts the wires in between two weakened areas which converts the weapon into a lethal fragmentation grenade. The metal casing along with wires of the splitter cage is comprised of a Laminated Tungsten alloy (known as Tungsten-Cerium-Copper Carbide or TC3 alloy) which was designed to provide similar effects of a DU round (Pryochoric, self-sharpening, Super-dense, etcetera) but without the side effects and handling issues associated with a moderate radiological material. These fragments provide both armor piercing and incendiary effects when use against light vehicles or enemy armored personnel.

The M45 contains 5 oz. Of Composition B, and the case weighs in at a hefty 7 oz. making the total weight of the M45 plus fuse just over 15 oz. Though an ounce heavier than the M67 the M45 can still be thrown to a maximum distance of 35m and produces a Effective lethal radius of 15m with a casualty radius of 20m. Armor penetration has been shown to 55mm RHAe at 5m with diminishing returns beyond that point. It should be noted that care should be taken when used in open environments without cover, as minor fragments have been recovered as far as 300m from the point of detonation. Standard Eye and Hearing protection is to be considered recommended.
