'You're only going to have one year at that prep school before college, Cassian' Cassian had insisted that he was going to go to college back in Greece, but no, here he was in Destiny City, third acceptance letter for a future year out of a few (Charley Norris had quite a social reputation and Eli Norris's talent with languages had not left their son completely unknown in certain circles), which he looked over with a stiff frown. He wasn't interested in the least, but there he was, fortunately not sandwiched between his parents on this tour, but still following it around. He made desperate eye contact with several college students who were passing the opposite way in the hall. Several gave him a wide eyed stare and shook their heads, running a hand across their neck to silently vet their opinions. #samemood he thought to himself, half pulling his phone out of a pocket to make a vague post on his twitter. 'College tours are so boring.' There were 5 likes nearly immediately. Probably fellow high school students. He checked who it had been, ignoring some talk about the student center and a centrum. Blahblahblah college, blah blah blah academics, blah blah HIGH ESTEEM, blah blah, cafeteria break. He looked up at the words 'Cafeteria break', watching as several people were handed a voucher for a 'free' lunch and following after them to inspect his options. Two words: Not impressed. He had to pull out his most stickler of tastes to assemble something that seemed to not have sat there for...probably several hours (why, leaving it on ice or a warmer didn't keep it good. Why.) before he turned to seek out a table. Cassian placed his tray on the table that was by an open window, sighing deeply as he stared out of it. College tours were awful.

Cassadega found herself in the cafeteria for two reasons and two reasons only. One, because there was only a forty-five minute window between the English class she'd just left and the math class up on her schedule. Her townhome wasn't nearly close enough to pop into, to her dismay, and the studios either were already booked or running classes.
Killing time where she could people watch was interesting enough, sorta and she could poke at her boring homework while also picking at the fruit medley she had packed for snacks.
One particularly dark skinned wannabe student obviously on a campus tour caught her eye as he looked like he was turning his nose up at the food options were on display. Cat-like grin spreading on her mouth, Cass watched him look around before picking a table not too far from the one she'd picked also near windows.
"You know, this is like, the worst time to pick up food from the cafeteria. Lunch rush is over, food stops coming out as fresh and hot." She called, elbows pushing into her spread out books as she leaned across her table to talk to him. "Campus tours do it on purpose. At least here."
Yeah, she'd been watching him.

He hadn't really been paying much attention to all of the actual students that were gathered up in the cafeteria, prodding around a stray vegetable that actually managed to linger somewhere between 'undercooked' and 'raw'. A rare feat to accomplish indeed. Raw feat. Whatever. He'd just cut it (well, snapped it) with the side of his fork when a student leaned over from the next table over, speaking up to him and making Cassian look over with a somewhat surprised, but not startled look. "They do it on purpose? That's horrible. I already don't like this place." he frowned, stabbing the vegetable a few times before shoving it in his mouth. For not liking it, he was still going to eat it. He'd done worse than bad vegetables. "What about you? Campus pretty OK despite the questionable lunch practices?"

Cass laughed, liking the way the kid talked and she was already sliding out of one stool and into the other that was closer to the boy's table. "Just the tour guides. Food's usually halfway decent if you get to it at the right time, but if you're doing the tour.." she shook her head, making a face that had her wrinkling her nose and sticking her tongue out in disgust. "Pizza's always halfway decent and if you get to the salad bar at peak time, it's great. Otherwise...stay away from the other serve yourself bars."
Taking a moment to cast her glance back over to the other assortment of knock-off resturaunts she pointed a manicured finger over at the one who's sign was obscured but there was a Grill visible. "That one has good fries, not that they'd let you get 'em with that voucher." Cheepos, the school.
"It's got a great dance program, which is why I'm here. Teachers are pretty chill. They're here to do their own research and what not but to teach too." Cass shrugged, finding a grape from one of her bags on the table and popping it into her mouth.
"Name's Cassadega." She introduced, sticking her other hand out over the other chair and table.

"Yikes. Sounds like I'd rather plan my own meals then." which he was fine with. Not that he wouldn't eat food beneath him, but when there was potential with his own meal options.....he just didn't want to. "So better options outside of the cafeteria. Got it. That seems pretty standard for what I've noticed so far....except for the one place that was made out of small fast-food joints that were all strangely lacking in caffeinated drinks..." He'd pulled out a soda in the cafeteria and gotten weird looks on that tour. Definitely not his option. "Gotcha. I'm more looking into the culinary program myself. So far, all they've shown us is the campus, and I don't know how much of a chance they're going to give me to go check out their individual programs at this point." he frowned, scratching the tip of his nose. When the young woman offered her hand for a shake, he offered his own with a small chuckle, "Cassian. Nice to meet you, fellow-Cass." he joked.

"Probably." Cassian got a shrug from the green haired woman as she reached back and pulled out a carrot and snapped it in half, chewing on the crunchy vegetable. Acidic eyes drifted across the people still milling about then back at her companion. "At least this place has both coffee and soda."
She didn't drink most sodas herself, choosing to avoid the carbonation for athletic reasons for the most part.
"Oh cool, do you have a specialty when it comes to that stuff?" Cass popped the rest of her carrot in her mouth and rested her arm across the back of her chair. Propping her other arm atop it, she rested her cheek in her hand and gave him her full attention.
"DCU's isn't bad. I don't attend so there's no 411 from me but," she shrugged, like that was all she needed to say.
When he gave her his name, that cat grin was back and she seemed to speak with a bit of a purr. "How cute, Cass squared. Looks like you're meant to be my friend, chico."

"Mostly Grecian and Middle Eastern at the moment. Grew up over there and that's where my experience is. Working on broadening my horizons in the kitchen." he said, "mostly working with German and Italian at the moment. Maybe gonna try some Indian." So basically, mostly Eurasian cooking. "Well, it's at least on the radar. I don't know if I'll stick around here or maybe look into the next city over for classes or see what private options I have." Frankly, he wanted to go back to Greece for his lessons, but he wasn't going to press that button this early and be told no for the fifth time by his mother. Sigh. No winning. "I guess we were. Can't say I get the honor of running into a name-twin," kinda, "all too often. The dance program have a nutrition recommendation or would that be something you get to look up yourself? Given my particular interests, can't say I wouldn't be able to help a bit."

The more the other Cass spoke, the more inquired Cass found herself. Neither of the two types of cuisine he spoke of were ones she was terribly familiar with and therefore piqued her interest. "Well, if you ever need a taste tester, sign me up. I don't know what those are, but they sound fun."
She liked experimenting.
"I bake, as a hobby, but I'm a damn good baker if you ask me." She was skilled enough to turn a profit when she was feeling like it at least. "Home cooked stuff is always better than eating out." She sighed dramatically, giving herself a wistful look, like she hadn't had anything home cooked in a long while.
Which, she hadn't, because regular cooking wasn't much of her thing.
"As long as I'm not like, binging on sugar too much and stay in peak form, it's pretty much sixes. Though, to be on the safe side, lets stay away from experimenting too close to performances. What do you say?"

Cassian laughed. "Of course. I love taste testers, and I know the people who watch my videos always like seeing a new face. I think you'd have good energy for it too." He tilted his head slightly, before adding, "But I think I'll spare you from the Bad Foods series. I don't think you'd like the Honey Sriracha Anchovies experiment at all." Though it had prompted him to make the delicious shrimp of the same sort, so hey, that had worked out. "I'm not too hot on the sugar myself, so I think it'll be fine on that front. At this point it's mostly Schweinshaxe - that's a pork leg - and some various curries. Not so great on the curries at the moment. Indian people have tastebuds made for eating fire. I can't handle some of their spice levels at all yet." Though that meant it definitely shouldn't be played with before performances if Cass 1 did better with happy insides. "I am messing with a Lebkuchen, if you're a fan of Gingerbread at all. I'm actually in an arrangement with a place called 'The Sugar Cube' that I'm playing with some baked good recipes for if you think that'd be a good time."

"And I've got a pretty great one," Cass replied, unable to keep the smug grin off her face. Today was giving her everything she wanted with minimal effort. It was perfect.
Turning away from the darkly skinned boy, Cass tore a corner of a page off and scribbled her number onto it before sliding it across his table. "There, now you have zero excuses to not hit me up." The prospect of the cute boy making food for her to test and probably like seemed promising.
And it was good to widen her circle, what with her favorite boys seemingly too busy to pay her the attention she wanted.
"You know, that sounds lovely. We'll pick a day to experiment. You'll have to show me this Sugar Cube place. Gotta make sure it lives up to my standards before you start dabbling."

Cassian took the number, quietly inputting it into his phone and sending off....a unicorn emoji. Well, at least he'd be notable for that. "Boom. Unicorn has been sent your way, now you also have no reason to not follow up with me," Cassian said with a bright smile. If he had anything going for him, it was bright smiles and good cooking skills. "It's a cute little place in the mall. Serves drinks and stuff. I thought it was going to be some sort of candy shop but I was surprised to find out no...no that's most definitely not the case." Instead he was now jotting down recipes for Lavender tea cookies and sour cream sugar cookies. Whoops. "But let me know what day works. I'm out for summer now, so I'll have plenty of time to rearrange myself a bit for that." Since now he was going to have to have a social life with pretty people in it. Gah! So inconvenient. Not really.

Her phone vibrated on the table behind her and she looked delightfully pleased with herself. "Don't you worry cute little Cass," she cooed. Satisfaction made up eighty percent of her expression as she settled back into her seat. "I will."
A wink was tossed his way as she snatched up her phone and slid it into the back pocket of her shorts. Tidying up her study station, several things were shoved back in her school bag before she gathered up her garbage.
"We'll have to check it out sometime. I'll shoot you a text when I get the chance, gotta run to class now." She had five minutes to get from the Cafeteria to the tech building.
"I'll be in touch cutie!" She promised, waggling her fingers.

"Sounds good," Cassian agreed with a smile, glancing back at his food woefully, then shrugging it off. Maybe..he just wouldn't finish eating it. Yeah. Then he'd just be hangry when he got home. Either way, he held up his phone as Green!Cass gathered up her things. Apparently it was classtime and that notice had him glancing around for the tour group he'd been a part of. Had they left without him? Did he care? Not particularly. "I'll keep an eye out for your ping then." he said, "Hope your class goes well!" he added helpfully.

Shouldering her bag, Cass blew the boy a playful air kiss when she said in a sing-song voice, "Later~"
Headphones were fished out almost the moment her back was turned on him and slung over her ears as she took her leave.
